  1. Obviously in hindsight, OJ was a bad pick but I won't say there were much better D'men available. As in OJ was ranked 5/6/7th in scouting rankings so it wasn't like JB was off the board. He was supposed to be the Top 4 steady Defencemen at the draft. Considering JB drafted Virt, McCann and BB6 the previous two drafts, I see why JB opted for best player at that position at that moment although he should just draft BPA in most situations.
  2. I remember in the islanders game where Halak let in five goals where all were deflections except one and everyone blames him. A week later, Demko let's in 5 goals where most were deflections again and everyone was, oh he was unlucky as it was deflections, the defenceman should of boxed out the people, etc. It's really funny to see.
  3. You keep on saying the goalie's poor performance will affect the team's morale and confidence. This I agree but haven't you thought it the other way. The fact that they usually dont give run support, doesn't it give the goalie added pressure to make sure he makes that save. It works both ways buddy. I'm sure he lost his confidence and is anxious every time he starts because he has to be "perfect" but because he aint Demko level. The most frustrating thing with reading the comments from some of the posters here is Canucks 73_3 is not saying it isnt Halak fault but he is saying everyone on the team is at fault and is mad that almost everyone is solely placing the blame on Halak (including you). Everyone played poorly, heck, even bruce made bad decisions such as when to hook Halak and playing petey with the two coldest players on the team. So it should be everyone is at fault, not ONLY Halak.
  4. After reading the last few pages, people are suggesting to re-sign BB6 for $6 mil. But I thought his QO has to be matched at $7.5 mil at the end of the season. And even if they go to arbitration, it can't be lower by a certain extent (I think it is 15%). Therefore, the lowest should be $6.375 mil. Maybe I read it wrong but I am pretty sure there is a limit as to how low they can offer BB6 or "discount" he is willing to take. The only way I see it if the Canucks doesn't give him a QO, then I think he becomes a UFA where they can still re-sign him but I totally doubt he will only have a raise of $.5 million to what he is making now on average. Can someone please confirm whether my understanding is correct?
  5. You know, it's like the draft where the player gets the current year on the jersey.
  6. But I heard /read that baum still makes the decisions over shaw and shaw only consultant
  7. I think it was mostly we wanted a big power forward and I'm sure Benning wanted a local kid to bring in the fans and have someone to root for. I honestly blame him, the coach and the development team on what happened to him. If things all went differently, maybe we could have had a better Jake. I mean I remember when he first came to camp overweight, there was a report that stated that he said the coaches told him to add on some weight (of course with the lack of guidance, he went fat instead of muscle). And also, I'm sure he would have done better in juniors and asked to "work on certain aspects of his game" instead of rushing to the NHL.
  8. I remember there was a play in the 2nd period last game where Garland was on a rush with Miller. Garland over skates past the puck and tries to desperate regain control while you see Miller gliding towards the puck. At the end, Garland couldn't regain control and the Rangers player takes over the puck. I"m like, MILLER!
  9. Being able to watch the Canucks, it's a sacrifice i took! /sarcasm
  10. It's actually in the stats AJ provided
  11. Completely agree. They should have played in the AHL.
  12. But they couldn't as it was either junior or NHL.
