And you think he didn't?

Please read this as it will give you a clearer picture of the arbitration process. https://www.capfriendly.com/arbitration

To be honest, even as his fan/supporter, I am sometimes frustrated at what he should be able to do instead of what he is doing now. However, what people are blinded to is they only see what he should become instead of what he has been doing. I know him being drafted 6th overall and his size/skills makes people expect more from him (myself included) but we should stop being frustrated over his potential and just see how is doing and progressing. As long as he isn't hurting the team and has been steadily improving every season, there is no point in hating on the kid. It's like saying since Raffi Torres was drafted 5th overall, he should be torching the league with points but at the end of the day, you just see the player for what he is and see what he has been doing instead of saying he should be getting 100 points a year. Please note that I am only talking about his on ice performance. I also don't really agree with some of his decisions off the ice thou (but then again, P.Kane and E.Kane did stupid stuff before but turned out ok).

Bro, the team can't "move on from him" unless the arbitrator goes crazy and awards him over $4.5m.
-
I mean that's fair but people seem to think he only scores like 5 goals a year
-
I love how people are judging Jake on his drunk actions trying to impress girls. For the people here who haven't gotten drunk, good job but for everyone who has, who doesn't boast in front of girls/guys? Come on. I have been there. This is just stupid

I dont think Virtanen has the IQ to become a top 6 forward.

Actually I did watch every shift of his playoffs and using the eye test, he did things quite well for the roles he played and he had better stats than the stats showed and if you want to talk about the season, he did the things right (of course he missed some assignments and missed a few hits but they all do) -

To be honest, you seem to be describing Jake Virtanen in his first and second years in the league. You don't seem to see his developments since then but that's what the other poster said, most people who hate on Jake, hate on him from the start and keep on using that thinking and don't accept what he has done because it will go against their "theories". -

Didn't the province post a picture of Subban and say something about he was black or something? -
Yup and after dumping him for a bag of pucks, quickly sign a 20 g scorer for under 1.5 mil for 10 years

According to Holtby in an interview a few years back, it wasn't his choice..haha Q: Is there any significance to you wearing the number 70? Holtby: No, they just gave it to me at my first camp. I got a surprise call-up my first year, played a few games and people started to buy the jersey. And I felt too bad to change it after I’d seen a couple of people pay money for the jersey, so I stuck with it. Holtby seems like a nice guy!

Sometimes I am really confused to the bashing. One says that he only had "spurts" of it last year where he produced most of his points while going cold at the beginning and at the end of the season. Due to that observation, we look into what lines he played on during those spurts and I have noticed, during those "spurts", he was mainly on the top line or on Bo's line. However, the OP says he doesn't play well with the top 6. So which is it? So please for all the bashers, kindly discuss among yourselves which direction you are planning to use and be consistent with it. This bashing is all over the place. It seems like you are just randomly picking stats here and there to make fuel your own hatred. Also, if the OP actually posted in one of those Jake Hate Threads, he would have noticed that there is an article by Canucks Army which did state he plays his best with EP/Miller (although i'm sure a lot of players play with with EP/Miller) but it trumps whatever the OP is saying thou. -
LOLZ..sure bro

You know it doesn't work that way as he is a RFA and has arbitration.
-
Lol OK, bro, you made my day, so funny

All signs as in he didn't end up signing those players? You were in Benning's office? Washroom? -

Come on, you don't know that -
No you can't walk away from an arbitration award (then what is the point of an arbitration). The only exception is if the award amount is over $4,538,958

Please enlighten me on how did he come in fat?

[Speculation] Canucks interested in Tyson Barrie

He didn't misread your post as you are truly negative man. Holtby was a great sign, you prefer Marky at 6x6? -
[Signing] Flames sign Christopher Tanev

Lol OK if you think that. I guess that's why people don't agree with each other on the forums, each person's idea of bad/average/replaceable is of different levels and standards. -

I don't understand how people are ripping on JB for not giving him 4 years at 4.5 when at the same time ripping him on the other anchor contracts. Like come on, make some sense guys. At least we can see JB is improving on his signing and won't make these anchor contracts anymore.
