  1. The signs they were improving were there before Tortorella though. You give far too much credit to Tortorella imo. Yes he is a good coach but they were a team on the verge of breaking out with or without him.
  2. I wanted Gallant too but at the same time, look at our roster and look at Vegas, it's not just coaching.
  3. To even just get in the playoffs you need a good coach and a good roster we have not had both of those things together since Alain Vigneault.
  4. How have we been rebuilding for 7 years when we made the playoffs 4 years ago? Regarding Gallant, maybe just maybe, he didn't want to come here. Nor is Travis Green “not a real coach” I didn't compare Willie D to Tortorella, he literally made the playoffs with basically the same roster. Like he actually did that. I didn't say he was a better coach in fact I said he is average at best at the NHL level. I even referred to Tortorella as a great coach, Great>Average at best... Again what does making the playoffs with Columbus have to do with Vancouver? And yet another failure of comprehension, I said Columbus this year is all in because Panarin and Bobrovsky are bolting in FA. They're much better than your normal Wildcard team.
  5. What? Ok Torts IS a good coach I do not dispute that. At all. He didn't do his job here, not some asinine reason that the market can't handle him, that is straight up B.S. He didn't do his job here and he got canned because of it. Why this is a hill you choose to die on is beyond me. This team wasn't a fit for him and he simply refused to adjust that. That's all he is a great but stubborn coach.
  6. 1. We're rebuilding 2. WD made the playoffs with basically the SAME roster minus Luongo and Kesler. 3. What Tortorella has done with a Columbus team going all in before Panarin and Bobrovsky built has literally nothing to do with Vancouver.
  7. Really? Cause I've asked for evidence and all you've provided was Edler and Tanev blocked shots and the Sedins wouldn't say anything bad about him. I've provided evidence can you?
  8. Jesus christ, you've refuted with nothing other then our 2 of our top defensemen of that time were blocking shots. I’m always open to see another point of view but reality is Tortorella IS a good coach. He just wasn't a fit here nor did he do a good job. If listed numerous reasons why. You've just stomped your feet and plugged your ears thus far.
  9. Edler and Tanev were already doing that. And of course the Sedins are too nice to have a bad thing to say about anyone. Torts didn't work here because of himself. So to reiterate for you: He didn't even live in the same Country as the team, didn't practice shootouts, didn't practice the PP which shockingly our PP was a whopping 15%!, skipped practice altogether. Didn't communicate with Burrows until Christmas, didn't communicate with Travis Green in Utica re: callups or anything really. And we absolutely sucked the year he was here and won the division and made the playoffs with the same roster minus Kesler and Luongo under WD who was an average at best as an NHL coach. Sorry there is nowhere near enough evidence to prove Torts was a good coach here. End of story.
  10. No, cause you blindly worship your hero. Despite providing zero evidence he did anything good here. Yawn. Have a good one.
  11. Really? The same Torts who didn't talk to Burrows at all until Christmas... The same Torts who didn't practice shootouts... The same Torts who didn't watch video of teams coming in beforehand... The same Torts who didn't even bother to show up at practice altogether and let Mike Sullivan run it instead... Torts was a dud here.
