Yeah he's going back to junior for sure this year once his 9 game trial is up. No need to rush him. Defensively he may be close but offensively he just doesn't have it going on yet. It will come give him time to cook. The Canucks are contender this year. Can't have any passengers on the team. Every guy needs to contribute and be productive including young guys if they wanna stick on the big club.

I think WD was just trying to get the most out of his core group on the brutal road trip. I'm fairly certain an increase in ice time and maybe even top six minutes over the next few games against marginal teams.

^ I just don't think he is ready yet this year for prime time. I think it would be beneficial for him to play in the World Juniors again perhaps with Virtanen, McCann and Subban etc and then join the London Knights for the rest of their season and then hope the Canucks call him back up when they are in the playoffs on their taxi squad.
