  1. Well that's disappointing..... Felix is already out of Wimbledon, after losing to some guy named Michael Mmoh..... That bbites....
  2. Best comment on that vid back in the day: "At least he got ice on it right away".....
  3. I realize that this is only AA ball, but compared to his last start, this is encouraging.... https://www.milb.com/new-hampshire/news/manoah-shines-but-bullpen-struggles-in-defeat
  4. Trying to decide who is the biggest Blue Jay killer on the Bosox....Verdugo? Devers? Turner? Duran? Way too many choices....
  5. Too bad Ernie couldn't have pinch run from the batter's box....
  6. His defence didn't help him much, but Swanson has been doing a lot of throwing gasoline on the fire lately....
  7. Oh look, a "Loui" emoji from @Mossberg .....Quelle surprise.... I look forward to the well thought out and insightful rebuttal to my post....
  8. We weren't discussing the GST. If you want to start up a different thread whining about how you have to pay too much GST, fill your boots. You're claiming that the Carbon Tax is keeping people from being able to feed and clothe themselves, but you've haven't provided any sources to back up that claim. So if you have any evidence, lets see it.
  9. Posted this in the Whitecaps thread: Who'd have thought that Canada would go into their last group stage match in a "must win" position? In fact, if I'm interpreting this correctly, a win over Cuba might no even be enough. If Canada beats Cuba 1-nil and Guatemala and Guadeloupe draw 3-3, that puts all three teams at 5 points. AFAIK, the first tiebreaker is goal differential, so Guadeloupe would win the group with a +3 GD. Canada and Guatemala would both be +1. That means we would need to go to the second tiebreaker, which is usually goals scored. In the above scenario, Guatemala would finish with 4 goals scored, while Canada would finish with 3. We would be 3rd in the group and out of the knockout stage. First the Jays lose, then the Whitecaps and now this disappointing performance by TC in the Gold Cup....all in all, a brutal Canada Day....
  10. The rebates offset the carbon tax, so saying that it "costs people proper food and clothing" is unsupported by facts. That is, unless you can post some actual evidence that supports your claim.... ...and we are light years away from "doing it all at once". The carbon tax is just a small piece of the puzzle.
  11. Today was Bobby Bonilla Day... Because of a deal made by his agent 12 years ago, BB gets just under 1.2 million per year....until 2035. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/bobby-bonilla-day-why-mets-still-owe-former-mlb-all-star-1-19m-per-year-on-july-1/
  12. Nil-Nil final between Canada and Guatemala. Who'd have thought that Canada would go into their last group stage match in a "must win" position? In fact, if I'm interpreting this correctly, a win over Cuba might no even be enough. If Canada beats Cuba 1-nil and Guatemala and Guadeloupe draw 3-3, that puts all three teams at 5 points. AFAIK, the first tiebreaker is goal differential, so Guadeloupe would win the group with a +3 GD. Canada and Guatemala would both be +1. That means we would need to go to the second tiebreaker, which is usually goals scored. In the above scenario, Guatemala would finish with 4 goals scored, while Canada would finish with 3. 13. It gets worse... Team Canada is scoreless with Guatemala in the 81st minute....
  14. Montreal actually played okay, but turnovers absolutely killed them. Bottom line: Collaros took care of the ball, while Cody Fajardo and his receivers did not.
  15. Hippy has already been in that position once or twice....
  16. Most of us likely won't recognize the name, Dilano van ’t Hoff, but it's hard to read a story like this and not think of Greg Moore.... https://www.cnn.com/2023/07/01/sport/dilano-vant-hoff-dies-crash-spt-intl/index.html Drivers know the dangers when they get into racing, but it's especially tragic when someone so young is killed...
  17. The people that are "skipping meals" are the ones that get the rebates. I disagree that this is the wrong time to do it. We've already been kicking the can down the road for far too long.
  18. Sorry, if you're going to make the case that we shouldn't be doing everything we can to combat Climate Change right now, you've lost me. All I'll say about that is that I think you're sadly misinformed and I'm glad the government doesn't share your opinion.
  19. Something I've always wondered.... Do waiters with dwarfism get paid under the table?
  20. Teo is up with the bases loaded and nobody out in the bottom of seven against the Rays....
  21. Okay, I'll play too.....
  22. I ain't just Vancouver, it's ILWU, which means all BC Ports will be closed. That means the Port of Prince Rupert will be affected as well. Fun fact: Ships bound for Asia from PR will arrive at Asia's largest port (Shanghai) 36 hours sooner than a ship that departs the Port of Vancouver with the same destination.
  23. But the government doesn't want to step in.The whole idea behind the carbon tax is to encourage people to use less fossil fuels. They realize that this could really hurt lower income Canadians, which is why there are rebates.
  24. Buck basically spelled it out while Vladdy was hitting. Anywhere but right at Verdugo......you would have thought Rivera would know that as well. He should have been throwing up the stop sign as soon as Verdugo picked it up clean.
