  1. Canada was easily the better side in the first half, but it's a bit disappointing that they didn't generate more dangerous opportunities. Anytime they actually penetrated the box, the Costa Ricans closed them down without too much trouble.
  2. Yeah, I think it's hard for non Americans to relate to a place where you aren't considered "free" unless you're allowed to walk around with a loaded weapon anywhere you like. I certainly could not live in a country like that.
  3. Gotta say, we talk a lot about "game management" in hockey, but we saw it in this match, with that push in the back of David... By the letter of the law, that's a penalty. A two handed push in the back, but the ref decided it "wasn't enough" to merit a penalty. "Not enough" of what? He didn't push him hard enough?
  4. This time sync issue is pretty annoying. I feel like I'm watching a Kurosawa movie....
  5. If the Canucks keep playing like they did last night, then Vancouver will be top of the list. Otherwise, it's Vegas....
  6. Speaking of OBJ, i was watching Tim and Friends yesterday and they played a clip from the Cleveland sidelines that I found pretty telling: I don't know what went before, but the clip starts with OBJ telling Nick Chubb that he "wants to score a touchdown"....without making eye contact, Chubb responds with "I want to win"..... And then today I read that Chubb won't be available against the Patsies after a positive Codic test....
  7. I'm afraid it could be even worse. After the king trial, the streets of LA turned into a war zone, but the protest was pretty much limited to the area in and around Los Angeles. But now, there are organizations like BLM, with chapters all over the country. I think we could see riots on multiple fronts. As I said earlier, I hope I'm wrong, but recent US history tells me I'm not.
  8. Hate to say it Alf, but my money is on him not getting convicted. He's a white kid who killed people who were not saints. (not that it should matter, but it will) Combine that with the fact that the judge is obviously sympathetic to him and I think a conviction is a long shot. I believe we can look forward to more Kenosha's once this decision comes down. I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt that I am.....
  9. I must have missed the part where Rosenbaum touched Rittenhouse. As I recall it, Rittenhouse claimed that Rosembaum reached for his gun. (We only have his word for that, BTW, just as we only have his word that Rosenbaum threated to kill him)
  10. this strikes me as coming from someone who's never been to Duncan....
  11. Yet one of them had his lawyer argue in court that his comments shouldn't be taken seriously. You only get one guess as to who that was.....
  12. And in answer to your question, not for the Neo-Fascist crowd....
  13. K...... Edit: Note the "Pinochet did Nothing Wrong" T-Shirts on those very fine people in the top photo.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Augusto_Pinochet
  14. I'm thinking the only justice that might result is a civil suit from Rosenbaum's family. I guess we'll see if Mike Lindell and Ricky Schroeder want to pony up for a seven figure decision.....
  15. It's not proof per se, but while out on bail, he was photographed drinking in a bar while he was underage. Whiel he was there, he posed for photos with Proud Boys and flashed a White Supremacist hand signal
  16. He won't be the only one. He'll be a hero to the Alt-Right and Faux News crowd. I think you can expect the usual political suspects to weigh in as well....Trump, Cruz, Bobert Taylor-Greene, Gaetz, Biggs, etc., etc.....
  17. I think there's a weapons charge as well. I'm betting that's the only thing he gets convicted on. I'm also guessing that the guy who bought him the gun will face some kind of charge as well.
  18. BTW @Rubik I don't think Rittenhouse is a maniac either. I think he's a kid that wanted to play soldier, got in over his head and overreacted in a deadly manner. I also think his actions prior to and after Kenosha show him to be a POS, but that isn't relevant to the case.
  19. To be clear, he probably has a decent self defense case against the 2nd and 3rd victims, but from what i can tell, the first person he shot threw a plastic bag at him. Doesn't seem like something that requires a deadly force response to me..... .....but I don't live in a country that fetishises guns....
  20. That being said, I prefer your version..... "Sorry to say Mr Johnson......it looks like you're contracted the Foxtrot variant"......
  21. Wrong alphabet.... The word you're looking for is Epsilon, but we're already way past that. (I think we're somewhere around Mu or Nu now...)
