  1. Hank. With apologies to Danny, Pavel and Trev, the greatest player to ever lace em up for the Canucks....
  2. ....If McLean hadn't made that save on Reichel.... ....If the Sharks hadn't upset the Red Wings....
  3. Yeah...."if this had happened".....but it didn't... Now lets talk about what did happen....2 Straight Presidents trophies....2011: Led the league in GF.....led the league in GA....best PP% in hockey....2nd best PK..... And I reiterate: The people who use that "defend the 0-0 tie" are morons....
  4. If you say so.... NHL.com Stats page shows the B's as 13th in GA over that span...
  5. Gurriel with the biggest celebration after Springer's HR....because he knows he fracked up, assuming he had gone deep and ending up stretching a double into a single...
  6. Another huge win for the Jays....Not quite as dramatic as the win over the A's, but pretty close.... Now they need to take the second half of the double dip...
  7. Remember the early days of AV? "AV only knows how to coach defense!".....and "Defend the 0-0 tie!" (right up there with the "Sedin Sisters" as the stupidest thing so-called Canuck fans have ever said)..... But then, his team evolved. The twins turned into MVP calibre players, Kes became a Selke threat.....a couple of shrewd trades and signings and all of a sudden, AV was presiding over the best offense in hockey.... Never mind Canuck coaches, name me any other coach who completely flipped his style to match his personnel like that....
  8. Pleasantly surprised to see Viggy ahead of Quinn....as he should be. Somewhat surprised that Neilson isn't doing better, though... In my books, Roger and Quinn are neck and neck for #2, while AV is clearly #1.
  9. BTW, does anyone else think that the collision between Gurriel and the O's pitcher looked intentional on the pitcher's part? Either way you look at it, that was abad hit....
  10. Double header today. Ryu gets the start in game 1 and SNET is reporting that Thomas Hatch will take the mound in the second game... The boys really need both ends, after losing with their best starter yesterday...
  11. That just goes to show how a small defensive error can change a game.... ....if Merryweather picks up the Mullins bunt cleanly, Santander never comes to the plate and it's still 3-3, instead of 6-3....
  12. Way to take a smartass remark seriously, Jim.... Buzzkill....
  13. Just ran this through Google Translate and the answer came back, "F***ed if I know".....
  14. BTW, I really like Buchanan, but does anyone else think he tries to take on too many guys all the time?
  15. Man...Dallas and the Bucs....who to cheer for... It's almost like a game between the Patsies and the Phish....who do I hate more?
  16. Felt a bit bad for Manoah there....one bad pitch to Gardiner and he loses out on the W.... Still, it's nice to see the Jays come back right away and retake the lead. Shatkins moves for Cimber and Richards are looking really good right now, even if the Brad Hand deal didn't work out. I still would have liked to see a left handed power bat at the deadline, but the bottom line is that the Jays aren't losing every time they get into their bullpen in a close game. Now they have Pearson available as well and it's sounds like Merryweather is close and maybe Stripling as well.... Tonight the Jays have Jose Berrios on the mound against Nestor Cortes Jr. Cortes' stats aren't particularly impressive, (7-4, 4.86) but he's only given up 4 hits in his last three starts. (averaging 2 runs over 6 innings) If things go the way they have been for both teams, we should see a bit of a pitcher's duel....
  17. Much better today....3-nil win over El Salvador at BMO...without Phonesie ....Goals from Hutchinson, David and Buchanan....
  18. He ran out of Prep H and now he's got a Ring of Fire....
  19. I'm a fan. Toto was one of those bands assembled out of session players that actually worked, but for me, it all started going downhill after Bobby Kimball left. Fergie Frederiksen is a really good singer, but for me, the Toto sound was Dave Paich and Steve Lukather trading off with Kimball. Then when Jeff Pocaro died it really wasn't the same.... BTW: Everyone talks about Rosanna and Africa, but my fave is Goodbye Elenore:
  20. Queen. HM to Pink Floyd, Led Zep, Journey and the Beatles.
