Personal choice, or are you just ugly?

TBH, I'm a bit inconsistent with Flu shots as well, mostly because I haven't had the flu in years. It probably has to do with the fact that I'm getting close to 60 and older people get it much less often than younger people. It certainly follows that infants and toddlers are at a much higher risk than adults and not immunizing children is irresponsible at best.

Personally, I'd put DeNiro ahead of Eastwood, but we can certainly agree to disagree on that one. Also, Schneider never got close to the B list for me.....

It's a good question. I wish I had the answer. You're correct about Jenny McCarthy. She started the whole thing by making the claim. (I think it was on Oprah) However, I think you might be conflating "celebrity" with who we think deserves to be a celebrity. McCarthy is a perfect example, as is Rob Schneider, who is also on the anti-vaccer list. The fact is, we know who these people are, so even if they might not deserve to be "celebrities", they are nonetheless. I saw a story online about one of the guys from "My 600 lb Life" passing away at age 29. The article referred to him as a "star" of the show, which only goes to show that the word "star", exactly like the word "celebrity" has completely lost it's meaning, in this age of 24/7 TV and hundreds of channels.

Meh. I think Robert DeNiro qualifies as a celebrity..... https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-care/when-it-comes-vaccines-celebrities-often-call-shots-n925156

As is your right. FWIW, I think people that don't bother with the flu shot are nowhere near as bad as people who don't get their children the MMR inoculation, because of a widely debunked theory being promoted by some random celebrity....

I even had to have that same argument with a couple of fans ITT, last season. It's a complete no-brainer. Miss 12 games at the start of the season to retain a year of control. I'd be pissed at management if they didn't do it. Vlady himself understands it and he's said over and over, that he's okay with the decision. -
Firstly, there are more than one strain of the flu going around at a given time. It's not guaranteed to keep you from getting sick, but it increases your chances. Secondly, the flu vaccine takes a couple of weeks to be effective. Combine that with the fact that someone can have the virus days before they show symptoms and it's not surprising that some people still get sick after being vaccinated. The fact is, you can't get the flu from the flu vaccine. There's no excuse for being "skeptical" when the truth is readily available: https://www.who.int/influenza/spotlight/5-myths-about-the-flu-vaccine

Old joke about a science nerd and his not so nerdy friend at a diner..... Nerd says, I'll have a glass of H20! Friend says, I'll have a glass of H20 too! He died.

Yeah, I saw that and I was wondering what "doctors" he was talking about, since the Andrew Wakefield was barred from practicing medicine, after he was found to have published a flawed "study" on the link between MMR vaccine and Autism. Other than that, the only people who still promote this stupid "theory" are idiot celebrities and the idiot in the oval office. If I sound bitter, it's because I am. Not only are the morons who buy into this stuff endangering their kids, they're endangering other people's kids while they're at it.

FWIW, I think he'll have a decent year. He seems to alternate between good and bad. (Health is a big factor as well) That being said, I think the die is cast. Good, bad or mediocre, I think the Jays will move him at some point. -

Not sure if that rumor was ever substantiated. I remember the talk about it though and I was all for making the deal if it was true. There were a few people disagreeing, but CB wasn't really a household name at that point.... -
Snowed in Vegas yesterday.... https://fox5sandiego.com/2019/02/18/snow-blankets-las-vegas-causing-i-15-closure/ Of course, this isn't the first time they've seen snow in Las Vegas....it's just that it doesn't usually fall from the sky...

Marcus Stroman complaining in the media because the Jays haven't signed him to a long term deal..... This coming off a 4-9 season with an ERA of 5.54. I said it before: The Jays missed the boat in not trading this guy after the World Cup. -
WTF is wrong with some people? https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/texas-sheriff-2-malnourished-children-found-in-dog-cage/ar-BBTvmYK?li=AAggFp5 It's things like this that makes me shake my head when I hear people thank God because they scored a touchdown, or because they shot some ducks....If there really is a God and he sees all, (as the evangelicals would have us believe) then he sat by and did nothing while four innocent children were treated worse than farm animals by these two scumbags....

Been to all of them....but it's the kind of thing you do your best to forget.....

You wouldn't say that if you'd seen the "women"....most of them look like they should be playing linebacker for the Eskimos.... As soon a shirt gets torn, you can hear the guys in back yelling "Up in front!"....

Worst I saw was up around Lac La Biche and the Slave Lake / High Prairie areas.....we used to call em "Twin Engine" mosquitos.....
-
Ffffftt......sounds like you were in the classy area of town..... ...if you'd ever made it into the old Windsor Hotel.....
-
it's funny because back in my old traveling musician days, I spent one of the hottest weeks I'd ever experienced in Red Deer. The hotel we were playing at was full, so they stuck us all in a conference room that had no AC and no windows that could be opened. (just sky lights) Around 40 degrees from about 10:00 am until 10:00 pm.....just brutal....
-
Don't really agree with that.... .....I saw the tape and there were some very fine bears.....on both sides.....

I generally disbelieve such stories, not because they're particularly implausible (which they often are) but because the government just doesn't seem to me to be that good at keeping secrets. It's like the 9/11 "conspiracy"....you know it's bunk, because almost 20 years later we still haven't seen a credible whistle blower.
