Just flipped over to the Citrus Bowl....Kentucky - Penn State is a coming down to the wire. Wildcats with a 3 point lead, trying to kill the clock with 2 minutes left...

There's still a quarter to go, but I think this pretty much vindicates the playoff rankings. LSU is a good team, but If UCF were a legitimate top four contender, they'd need to be able to beat a team ranked outside the top 10. To underscore, the Tigers are way ahead in total offense and threatening to score again. That being said, I hope the schedule makers can arrange for the Knights to play some ranked opponents next season, so we'll have a real idea of where they stand.

I don't really believe in miracles, but this is a pretty great story to start off he new year with: https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/russian-baby-rescued-after-nearly-36-hours-in-frozen-rubble/ar-BBRFLWw?li=AAggFp5 Really hoping the little guy pulls through....

I got a chuckle out of Agholor giving the ball to a kid, on Sudfeld's first NFL TD pass. Looked like they talked the kid into giving up the ball and they gave him another one....

Feel a bit bad for Foles....those bruised ribs cost him a Million dollar bonus: https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2813195-nick-foles-missed-out-on-1-million-bonus-after-suffering-injury-vs-redskins?utm_source=cnn.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=editorial

Well, as predicted, it was a loss, but I'm proud of the way the boys hung in there after going down 4 TDs early. It had all the makings of a complete blowout, but the Sooners made a game of it. Lets go Tigers!

So...once again my team is on the outside looking in as the season ends, but putting the boots to the Phish on the final Sunday almost makes it worth it....

***sigh*** I tune in after the first period of Canada-Czechia and we're already down 21-0. I knew it was going to be bad, but....

I'm a bit surprised at how Michigan was blown out by the Gators.... Clemson taking care of business against the Irish....I don't have much hope that we can knock off 'Bama, but at least I'll have a clear cut team to cheer for in the National Championship game.

Doubt it. Trump's tariffs have made it too expensive for Albertans to buy imported rats....

The third Canadian who was detained, (the school teacher, whose arrest was "unrelated" to the other two) is back in Canada. https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/canadian-detained-in-china-has-returned-home/ar-BBRxMeX?li=AAggNb9 There isn't much detail on how, or why she was released. It's possible (maybe even probable) that back channel negotiations such as Jimmy was mentioning were responsible. It's also possible that the Chinese realized they were starting to look like Trump-style toddlers. Either way, IMHO, this should send a strong message to any other Canadians in China: GTFO!

I thought Kerfoot sold the team. Wiki shows the owners as Stephen Luczo, Jeff Mallet and Nash.

Actually, FTG's claim isn't quite accurate..... .....I remember seeing quite a large rat in a Lethbridge hotel once.....of course, it probably just escaped from the meat locker....

Well....except for when the Bruins swing through Western Canada......

I hate to say it, but I think people need to stop visiting Muslim majority countries. Even moderate states like Jordan and Turkey have their extremists. I really have no idea how important tourist dollars are to countries like Morocco and Tunisia, but perhaps it's time to find out.

Looks like Roseanne has finally found an audience that will appreciate her anti-Muslim rhetoric: https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/roseanne-barr-to-address-israels-parliament-next-month/ar-BBRoo40?li=AAggFp4

TBH, I agree. However, in the #MeToo era, it's pretty tone deaf and I think he probably should have realized that some people were going to be offended. As an example, when was working in the computer business, we were careful to say no to people who wanted to put up posters for anything that could be remotely considered political, or controversial. I had a friend who owned a coffee shop and made the "mistake" of allowing a poster promoting the lift of the moratorium of oil tankers on the North Coast. All it took was the local Green candidate to write a letter to the editor and his business dropped off immediately. The lesson is: If you're in business, it behooves you to be as least controversial as possible.

I doubt that even Harv or Rod would be this tone deaf: https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/edmonton-realtor-dwight-streus-christmas-card-of-duct-taped-wife-daughters-stirs-controversy/ar-BBRcbX6?li=AAggNb9 File this under Christmas card ideas that should probably be retired because it's 2018. Edmonton realtor Dwight Streu has come under fire after sending a corporate holiday card to clients featuring a photo of his wife and three daughters with their mouths duct-taped shut. Streu stands in the middle holding a "Peace on Earth" sign — presumably a joke that it's hard to get a word in edgewise with so many women around.

Again, this is possible, but the StatsCan page doesn't support the theory. In any event, it appears as though people are determined to upset about Canadian imports of Saudi oil, so I won't stand in the way....
-
This is possible, but I have no idea how to verify that opinion.
-
I'm not sure what point you think you're making here. I made no claim that Canada wasn't importing Saudi oil, only that Quebec wasn't.
-
I don't think anyone said that "Canada" doesn't import Saudi oil. The article I posted suggested that Quebec doesn't import Saudi oil. They get almost all of their oil from Western Canada and the US. The link that FTG provided supports this. As a matter of fact, when I break it down on a province by province basis using that same StatsCan link, it appears that all of the Saudi oil imported to Canada in 2017 went to New Brunswick.
