My Sooners got their revenge on Texas, but Georgia took 'Bama right down to the wire before losing. Hard to say if that loss will be enough to knock them out of the 4th spot. We'll have to wait and see what the rankings say. Hopefully OU can sneak into the playoff...

The lady behind Trudeau was Chrystia Freeland, who was the lead negotiator for Canada. The other two guys in the back are the lead negotiators for the US and Mexico, Robert Lighthizer and Ildefonso Guajardo. They're the ones who did all the real work and it's why they all look happy, especially Freeland, who proved to be the equal (or better) of her counterparts and gave up very little.

Most of my faves are by other people....Maher's "President Pinocchio" and the aforementioned "Fat Donny".... There was another one from Real Time that I liked: "Orange Julius Caesar", which was coined by one of Maher's guests, a black guy with a big 'fro, who is professor at some university .... ...that being said I can lay claim to "Captain Combover" which is my own contribution to the cause.

Even though SCOTUS judges are appointed, rather than elected, I would have thought that the example set down by the Americans would be enough to convince the rest of the world that their system is the wrong way to go. With the appointments of Gorsuch and Kavanagh, the US had made no bones whatsoever about having judges on the highest court in the land, with a pre-conceived bias toward how laws should be interpreted. The fact that there are "Left" and "Right" judges should be apalling to anyone who actually cares about the law and jurisprudence. Yet, many people see no issues with this whatsoever....

Nah....they'd probably just assume that you're Jean Chretien in disguise.....

This statement gives the impression that elected judges would be a good thing. Yet, we have only to look at the waste of oxygen that our southern neighbors elected to see evidence to the contrary...

I was going to chime in with much the same.....housing is only a "struggle" if you insist on living in a major urban center. I bought my house a little over a decade ago, for just over 100k. It has 4 bedrooms 2 baths, a laundry room and a rec room and it sits on a large lot. After several renos over the years, we're appraised at around 300k. I think that this is affordable for most people.

Nice to see some positive news once in a while. These two boys are pretty amazing: https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/brothers-age-7-and-10-perform-cpr-to-save-grandmother-in-cardiac-arrest/ar-BBQ8SYo?li=AAggXBV Greta job, Kian and Grayson...

Pretty sure we can scratch Waston off the list as well. He asked to be traded and Lenarduzzi said he'd accommodate. Disappointed to see DeJong still around, TBH. He's decent at feeding the forwards, but a defensive liability, IMO. Hopefully Levis continues his progress and takes playing time away from DeJong. What we really need is a defender to replace KW. Without his presence in the air, it will be a long season for whoever the new 'Keeper is. Unless, of course, they find a replacement with Waston's ability to win headers.

I watched this match on TSN this weekend. I honestly thought they were in big trouble as it seemed like HK spent the entire first half less than 10 yards from the Canadian goal line. It was all defense, with a couple of counter attacks that did the deed. Tough group, but at least it's a WC berth. Maybe we can beat Namibia?

....well that was a pretty good start....

Really hoping your boys can pull off the upset tonight, @ReggieBush Lets go Trojans!

Many people have exaggerated their education on a resume, in order to try and land that dream job.... .....just don't try it in Greece: https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/10-years-in-prison-for-exaggerating-her-elementary-school-record/ar-BBQ2jSv?li=AAqARMz ....that's a justice system that even Jeff Sessions would be proud of....

Albertans showing their class once again: https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/newspolitics/controversial-anti-trudeau-hoodies-draw-attention-from-demonstrators-and-rcmp/ar-BBQ255e?li=AAggFp5 One could almost forget that Trudeau actually supported Trans Mountain. In fact, he spent 4.5 billion taxpayer dollars to try and ensure that it happens. But hey, keep pointing out the "hypocrisy", Alberta.....

[Official] Toronto Blue Jays Major League Baseball thread
RUPERTKBD replied to The Stork's topic in Off-Topic General
Anything is possible, but my guess is that the Jays didn't. Paxton is a solid starter, who would have definitely helped, but the Yankees gave up a pretty good pitching prospect to get him. With contending for a title still a few years away, I doubt that Shatkins is interested in moving a pitching prospect to get a starter who likely will be well past his prime by the time the team is truly in win mode. The Yankees are there right now, so it makes sense for them. The Jays definitely need pitching help, but my guess is that they'l go the FA route and hang on to as many prospects as possible, even if it costs them more money. Or, they'll deal with teams who are interested in acquiring one of their surplus major leaguers, like they did with the Diaz trade. -
....and two of the more unlikeable players on the PGA tour... Hopefully, the numbers suck and Capital One loses a bunch of money. Only thing that would make it better, is if both players finished above par....

I was just curious to see if anyone cares about this Tiger vs Phil, head to head, PPV match that sponsor Capital One is trying so hard to hype? Every day, I see a "report" on the two trash talking each other, or placing side bets and I ask: Does anyone really care? I certainly don't. Maybe while they're at it, they could set up a PPV game of HORSE between Metta World Peace and Dennis Rodman....

I love the way he just walks away afterward..... ....."Yup. I'm fired......"

I think it must have been stamped "Air Mail".....
