  1. You'd think they could have also done a little warping to make it look like Ford doesn't regularly fly around sporting venues with "GOODYEAR" printed on his side.....
  2. Speaking of trading partners, if Trump accomplished nothing else, the trip to France put him within earshot of JT: https://www.msn.com/en-ca/money/topstories/trudeau-aims-to-see-us-steel-aluminum-tariffs-lifted-before-g20-summit/ar-BBPDcMF?li=AAggFp5 Of course, this could mean nothing at all, but keeping the pressure on president Pinocchio is a good thing. (especially since he apparently had nothing pressing to attend to ) ....Nice to see some solidarity on the part of the Mexicans, as well.
  3. Let me preface this by saying that I think a lot of the criticism directed at JT ITT is silly. Personally, I don't care if he's too PC for some people.....I don't care if he arbitrarily decides that he cabinet will be gender balanced (there are plenty of qualified people of both genders to fill cabinet positions)....I don't care if he dressed in traditional Indian garb and I don't even care that he accepted a free holiday....but... If we have the money to buy a pipeline, we should be able to find the money to properly look after our veterans: https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/politics/ottawa-has-no-idea-what-it-really-costs-to-be-a-veteran/ar-BBPCQC6?li=AAggXBV The bolded sentences are what used to be referred to as "damning with faint praise". The rest of the article is just damning....
  4. I can't speak for anyone else, but for me it's possible to enjoy both leagues.....just as I have no trouble watching junior hockey, or MLS....
  5. Seems like the crossover team never wins...but I wasn't expecting a beat-down like that....
  6. Yeah, no it isn't. I'm not the President of the United States. The rest of this post speaks for itself. Misinformation: https://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2018/oct/22/politifact-sheet-what-we-know-about-caravan-headin/ https://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/immigration-border-crisis/fact-check-did-obama-administration-separate-families-n884856 Whataboutism: But Obama....... And the standard, "don't talk about Trump when I'm trying to bash Trudeau" line....What you're missing is that this is about JT, because he's acting like a real leader this Remembrance Day, while the guy you're defending is doing his usual: As little as possible. Finally: No-one cares about what you're "sick" of.
  7. Do tell. Are you also sick of Trump calling a question he didn't like "a stupid question" and then going on to tell the reporter that she asks "a lot of stupid questions"? Or telling the press he "doesn't know" his new Attorney General, a month after telling the press the exact opposite? How about his daily lies about the caravan passing through Mexico that have stopped now that the mid-terms are over? Or his "unfounded" claim that "middle easterners" are embedded with the caravan? What about separating families as a deterrent to people fleeing violence in their home countries? Any of those make you "sick"?
  8. I think they'd be better off just flying that balloon baby Trump at any event requiring a touch of diplomacy. The worst that can happen is a venting of gas, which is pretty much what you get whenever Cadet Bone Spurs opens his pie hole....
  9. I was thinking that since it's a Remembrance Day thing, he'd dress more in keeping with French Military history:
  10. I remember this being a bit of a minor "scandal" when it was announced a few months back, but maybe this article can provide some perspective: Read the full article here: https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/analysis-pm-trudeau-is-in-paris-this-remembrance-day-just-as-he-should-be/ar-BBPy1G9?li=AAggNb9
  11. Lots of great examples by the Eagles..."Sad Cafe" is favorite of mine, as are Henley's "Heart of the Matter" and "End of the Innocence"....
  12. Well the thread title does say favorite lyrics....I like Tom Cochrane, but "Big League" is a bit too vivid a reminder for me. As far as Canadiana goes, Wheat Kings and Hallelujah would probably be my top two. For that matter, pretty much anything by Leonard Cohen.... a favorite passage from Chelsea Hotel: I remember you well in the Chelsea Hotel You were famous, your heart was a legend You told me again you preferred handsome men But for me you would make an exception
  13. I know this sort of thing isn't really Trudeau's fault, but it's his administration now and this sort of thing irks me to no end: https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/ontario-couple-forced-to-return-daughter-to-nigerian-orphanage-because-canada-refused-to-help/ar-BBPuD1B?li=AAggFp5 This is no different in my mind than what's going on at the US-Mexico border. Talk is cheap, Justin. Fix this.
  14. Not a country fan (and I'm sure I'm not alone in that) but I always loved Joe Diffie's song: If the Devil danced in empty pockets He'd have a ball in mine With a nine-foot grand A ten-piece band And a twelve girl chorus line ......
  15. Yes. I'd say the answer to that question is definitely yes. This entire thread is pretty much proof of that.... "Peopletoba"
  16. It's a decent song. I've played it before and it took about 10 minutes to learn the rhythm part. I wanted to hold my nose while singing it, though...
  17. Conversely, the worst lyricist IMO, is Steve Miller. 18. Always thought American Pie by Don McLean was pretty stellar.... ...as is just about anything by Rush or Steely Dan.
  19. This Sunday folks: https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/wave-of-bells-to-ring-out-across-canada-to-mark-100-years-since-wwi/ar-BBPvLpG?li=AAggXBV
  20. That's the prize this year....last year it was 40 virgins and a subscription to the Jihadi of the month club....
  21. I've resigned myself to watching yet another middling team (at best) next year, that will likely have me bouncing back and forth between hope and despair on a weekly basis, as they did this year. I don't live in Vancouver, so boycotting games would be pointless and I'm not big on buying fan gear. (although I have a cheap WallyWorld knockoff jersey) Basically, it makes zero difference to ownership whether I watch, or not. I'll be tuning in as usual every week, because I'm a football fan and even if they suck, the Whitecaps are my team. To put it in perspective, I'm a Canucks fan, a Buffalo Bills fan, a Blue Jays fan and I cheer for The Netherlands in International football.....lets just say I've gotten familiar with disappointment.
