  1. I'm not familiar with how the Bitumen becomes pellets, but if it were cost effective, it should be fairly easy to transport by rail. More efficient and less emissions than by truck.
  2. At this point, the only untouchable for me would be Sanchez. He looks shaky right now and the injury history is troubling, but there's too much upside to give up on him yet. Estrada and Happ, as good as they've been, are perfect trade chips for the deadline. I was hoping for a Wild Card shot, but right now I just don't see it and TBH, I don't really think it would be to the team's long term benefit. Even in my most optimistic day, I can't see this team winning a playoff series against any of the big 4 (Yankees, Red Sox, Astros or Indians) I think they'd be much better off to trade those guys for high level prospects, like they did last year with Teoscar. It's the same reason I was advocating moving Donaldson last year and Stro right after the World Cup (or whatever it's called). For me, the only keepers currently on the MLB roster are Teoscar, Sanchez and maybe Grichuk and Gaviglio. Everyone else will be (or should be) long gone by the time this team is actually a contender, IMHO.
  3. I think they were due for a "meh" game from Gaviglio anyway. As good as he's been up until now, it was like playing with house money.... Playing at the Trop (or whatever they call it now) has always been Kryptonite for the Jays, so I'm hoping they get out of Florida with a split. That would be like a win, all things considered. Barring that, I'd settle for not being swept. Considering the starting pitching lately (yesterday notwithstanding) I think both outcomes are well within the realm of possibility.
  4. All good mate. I know nuance doesn't translate well on the internet. We're in agreement about wishing that the Jays could play Baltimore 162 times a year....
  5. Word. I always thought they were called the "O's" because it was the first letter of their nickname.... ....learn something new everyday......
  6. Absolutely. According to Wiki Ice and Fire, Aenar Targaryen brought five dragons with him to Dragonstone to escape the Doom of Valyria. One of those Dragons was Balerion the dread, which Aegon the Conqueror used to conquer Westeros. A dragon bigger than Drogon, that breaths black flames and end up melting Harrenhal. (Not to mention roasting Lord Harren alive in the tower that would come to be known as Kingspyre) Sounds like good TV to me...
  7. Yeah, the books are going to be some relief, if and when they finally come out. Still, this spin-off looks promising...
  8. For those who (like me) are lamenting the long wait for the final season of GoT, this might cheer you up a bit: https://www.msn.com/en-ca/entertainment/news/hbo-gives-go-ahead-to-game-of-thrones-prequel-pilot/ar-AAyqDGk?li=AAggSpD I approve of the choice of subject matter. Hopefully, the pilot becomes a full blown series. I'm going through withdrawal right now, but I can only imagine what it will be like when the final season ends....
  9. Agree to disagree. They both left for greener pastures. I don't see one as any worse than the other. I just thought you should know that someone who's "played sports" doesn't share your point of view.
  10. I don't disagree (although I think the Warriors would still be a favorite without KD) I just don't make the distinction where a player leaves a team for one where he thinks he has a better chance of winning a championship. LeBron did the same thing when he "took his talents to South Beach". Just because the Dubs were more of a "sure thing" than the Heat doesn't make KD a jerk and LBJ all good, at least not as far as I'm concerned.
  11. Ray Bourque? Paul Kariya? Teemu Selanne? Marian Hossa? Those aren't prominent players?
  12. How do you tie your opinion to whether people have "played sports". I disagree with your opinion and I can pretty much guarantee that I've played as much, or more than 95% of the people on these boards.
  13. I didn't get to watch this one, unfortunately.... ...I just came in to see the LeBron fans complain about the officiating...
  14. I don't read either, so i'm not sure what it has to do with my statement. Either way, it doesn't change the fact that The Tyee is a very biased publication.
  15. The Tyee isn't a good source when it comes to these types of stories. They're always going to try and make things look as bad as possible. That being said, you and KOS are correct in that the 4.5B ticket is only the beginning. It's definitely going to cost a lot more and I wish I shared the Liberals' optimism that the company can later be sold at a profit, or that the revenue stream from operating the pipeline will make up for the capital costs. I just don't see it.
  16. This is just one reason why I would have a difficult time voting Conservative: https://ipolitics.ca/2018/06/04/tory-mps-slammed-for-high-fiving-after-voting-against-un-indigenous-rights-bill/
  17. They're going to need it.....
  18. Sad news today....the man who made "The Catch" has passed away at 61: https://www.msn.com/en-ca/sports/nfl/the-nfl-world-reacts-to-the-death-of-49ers-legend-dwight-clark/ar-AAyeqjm?li=AAggNb9
  19. "Can you describe the person, ma'am"? "Well....I didn't get a good look officer, but he had a big nose and it looked like he hadn't shaved in quite a while..."
  20. You'd have to be nuts to wear that in public....
  21. I know it doesn't really belong here, but I just had to share this story: https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/alberta-man-charged-with-indecent-act-while-driving/ar-AAyecvj?li=AAggFp5 Can't say I'm surprised..... ....I can't even begin to count the number of dicks I've seen driving a vehicle with Alberta plates....
  22. I was/am a long time Seahawks fan as well. Although I've been a Bills fans since they drafted Jim Kelly, Seattle was my "home" team and I cheered for the Zorn to Largent combo for several years, back when they were an upstart team in the AFC. I don't live and die with them, but against the Broncos and the Patsies in the Superbowl, whom to cheer for was an easy choice for me.
  23. Good point. We talk about what might have happened if JR knew how to count, or what might have happened if LeBron had drawn the charge. (He did, but you know what I mean) Bottom line is, the Cavs went into OT with exactly the same chance as the Warriors and got smoked. The zebras played a role, Smith played a role, but every Cav not named LeBron has to be looking in a mirror as well.
