All for it. The more private enterprise has a stake in this, the less taxpayers money is at risk. I think that KM totally saw Trudeau coming on this one, but I'd be very happy to be proven wrong.

One of my all time favorite T-Shirts: "Don't tell my Mom that I work on an oil rig. She thinks I play piano in a Whorehouse" Seen in a bar in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta in the mid-80s....

I agree.....if only because when I look at it, I keep seeing it as "we sold all our kids' furniture".....

The replay on the charge was sketchy for sure but the other play where the Warriors' player was fouled driving to the basket, I wonder if it was the other Cavs player who got the call? Lebron certainly looked like he got the clean strip, but there was also a lot of body contact from the 2nd Cavs defender. Either way, Smith's error was what really cost them the game. The zebras are always going to miss calls, and in virtually every sport, the bigger, stronger guys are expected to "fight through" contact more than other players, but mental errors like that are just killers.

Yep. Both just slightly below CEO of Disney....

Anyone catch Nathan Cullen tearing JT a new one today? The "weed" comment was on point...

I've been somewhat of a JT defender so far. (although I have to admit that part of that is just to annoy Strome) The only real criticism I've had so far is reneging on voter reform. That being said, I hate this move. It just seems so much riskier and expensive than just supplying some ironclad assurances that BC won't be left holding the bag should a spill occur. Someone said earlier that this will become Trudeau's "fast ferry" scandal and I can definitely see such a scenario play out. I believe that JT looks at this as a case of a province where he has little support anyway, so if he can ram through a project that generates revenue for the federal government and Alberta (and yes, BC, although said revenue is a fraction of what the other principals get) he might as well go ahead and do it. Any support lost in BC is negligible and quite possibly recouped by voters in Alberta, so it's politically expedient.

Hmmmm....I don't know, Tre....you guys are pretty annoying.... And the "Nills"? Really? See that's why we can't stand Pats fans.....no imagination....
-
The only thing I can surmise here is that Trudeau expects to be long gone before any spill happens, so the clean up will be someone else's mess. (literally)

This is an interesting development. I wonder if, as owner, they could be held liable for any spills that occur, or if they're going to keep the onus upon whomever owns the ships?

It's funny, I spent the 80's touring western Canada with various bands and we had a saying: "It's 7:00 pm in Vancouver, 8:00 pm in Calgary, 10:00 pm in Toronto, 10:30 pm in St. John's and 1967 in Regina"....

Hey, don't get me wrong, Sabre...I'm always up for some mocking of Pats fans...

It's getting harder and harder to argue.... Personally, I'm disappointed. Would have loved to see a Celtics-Rockets final, but LeBron has once again carried a team to the dance.

Saw that on Sportscenter last night. Pretty impressive catch actually... As far as training camp goes, Brady is kind of like Trump: he can really do no wrong in the eyes of his supporters. The difference is, Brady has actually done something to deserve that leeway....

Nasty looking injury to Ronald Acuna of the Braves yesterday. MRI today, but he was in a wheelchair for the flight home, so it could be pretty serious... https://www.msn.com/en-ca/sports/mlb/braves-awaiting-mri-after-acuna-suffers-gruesome-leg-injury/ar-AAxSMF5?li=AAggXBR -
You know, Ryan... ....I'm just kneedling you a bit...

Oooooh...let me guess..... ...it's George Soros, right?
-
$15/hr? That cant be it...there must be free lattes too, right?
-
Yeah. It doesn't make much sense to have a mobile QB and have an offense designed for a pocket passer....
-
Me too. I don't know if it's going to happen, TBH. I've been lamenting Wally's predictable style for a long time now. The Leos could learn something from Mike O'Shea in that department, as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, I think in such cases they should be referred to a "Meddles".....

I've been defending Gibby for quite a few years, but watching the team's lazy play the past couple of weeks has me thinking it's time to move on. I don't remember the exact game or opponent (frankly they all blend into one another after a while) but the Jays made a half dozen or so errors in the field. Donaldson booted two that were right at him, whoever was at short bobbled two easy double play balls and there were a couple of miscues in the outfield as well.... ... but those didn't bother me nearly as much as a play I saw from a batter later on. Now don't get me wrong, I like Solarte and right now I'm kind of wishing the team had traded JD at the deadline....but: During the opponents' at bat, one of their guys hit what looked like a routine pop-up to left. Even so, he put his head down and busted his butt around the bases, managing to turn it into a hustle double, when the Jays' fielder couldn't get there. A couple of innings later, Solarte does the exact same thing, but instead of hustling out of the box, he looks skyward, throws his bat away and starts jogging to first. Only when he notices that the ball is going to drop, does he start running hard and because of that, gets thrown out at second. These kinds of lazy, mental errors are on the coaching staff IMO and it looks to me like Gibby is either slipping, or the players are tuning him out. Either way, it might just be time for a change. -
According to ESPN, the Pistons are taking a hard look at making Dwayne Casey their next head coach. I would do it if I was them. Best coach in Raptor history. It really sucks that he was made the scapegoat for the inability of Dero and Kyle to get it done in the postseason.
