  1. So the Sooners gain a game on both the Cowboys and the Cyclones. (Thanks WV) Now I'm in the bizarre position of cheering for the Longhorns...
  2. Hockey tournament this weekend, so I didn't get to watch. Just looking at the final score, it looks like it was a fantastic game.
  3. That's the comparison being made, anyway. It's basically because Ohtani is a pitcher who can hit. He seems like an obvious fit on a NL roster, but I've often wondered if the DH rule mandates that the player who doesn't hit has to be the pitcher.
  4. It's going to happen again: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2695575-shohei-ohtani-the-best-baseball-player-in-the-world-isnt-in-mlbyet The Jays will be outbid (again) by a big market team, but man, this guy would make a huge impact on the team...
  5. Tough season for the Texans....lose your best defensive player, then lose your starting quarterback....
  6. I'm trying to decide which of my teams turned in the worst performance.....the Bills or the Whitecaps....
  7. I'm a Bills fan....we know what mediocrity looks like.
  8. I'm betting Browns fans would kill for some mediocrity....
  9. I saw an interview with him before it happened and he looked like a guy on his way to the gallows...he knew the jig was up. The Gators have a winnable game coming up in Missouri, though. Tigers are 3-5. Meanwhile, my Sooners are on the road in Stillwater for Bedlam against the Cowboys, Both teams are 7-1, so this one goes a long way towards deciding the big 12 Championship. (Although Iowa State could still win as well)
  10. I'm a Sooner fan and by extension a Baker Mayfield fan, but I wonder if he has the size to be an NFL QB. He's definitely a playmaker, but you don't see too many successful NFL QBs at 6'1". I'm hoping he's another Russell Wilson, rather than another Johnny Manziel... Wasn't really a knock on the Saints, (although I do think they're ranked too high in that list) it was more a dig at the Bears, who as you say, are a much better team this season. (Which is why I started with "used to be....")
  11. I was watching highlights on NFL network when they did the old "look away if you're squeamish" bit and showed the play. They showed the injury from multiple angles, but hardly spent any time at all on the catch/non catch. I have to agree with you though... I didn't see anything that should have disqualified a catch... True dat. Used to be, a win over the bears by less than a baker's dozen was enough to drop you in the rankings....
  12. Agreed. I think the Caps were a bit fortunate to come away with the clean sheet. They looked nervous for the entire match....
  13. Russell is no slouch either.... ...still, Houston's D just rolled over on that drive...
  14. Really entertaining game between the Seabags and Texans....
  15. Jets losing in Jetsian fashion....
  16. Easy choice for me....Dodgers have the highest payroll in baseball. ($40 million more than the Yankees) Houston is number 18, just slightly more than half what LA is spending...
  17. Christmas comes early for @Pears....Brissett playing the part of Santa Claus....
  18. Makes for a more entertaining game, but that wasn't an illegal block. The zebras are making football less and less watchable...
  19. Nice job by the D to keep them to a FG, though...
  20. I thought he should have let it go...it looked to me like it would have easily carried through the endzone for the touchback....
  21. Kerley....looking like Larry and Moe...
  22. Pretty horrific injury to a Bears receiver....didn't catch the name, but his leg bent in a direction that legs are not supposed to bend...
  23. Because they know you can't blow a 25 goal lead in soccer.....
  24. I'm tired of the "3 run homer" mentality. I understand that it's the kind of team Gibby was handed, but there were times during the season where a hit and run, bunt, or steal seemed to be called for, but the strategy always seemed to be sit back and wait for someone to go deep. Far too predictable and far too many K's for the offense last season. First thing on my shopping list if I were Atkins, would be an outfielder with some speed and a decent OBP...(of course, that was at the top of my list last season as well.)
