  1. Small glimmer of hope today. Aaron Sanchez with his second quality start in a row, on the heels of good starts by Estrada and Buehrle (although both losses) and a good outing from Dickey. Maybe the starters are slowly turning things around...
  2. Yeah, I saw the lean in by Kah, but couldn't see how he would be called, since he almost fell over himself and couldn't really be pushing any of the Rapids. But even if he did get in a little push, that's a terrible call to make after all the other stuff he let slide, particularly the non call when Koffie was fouled.
  3. Now there's something that Brady understands all too well.... ...as any Raider fan will tell you.
  4. Definitely deserved a better fate in that match, but the goal by the Rapids was a beauty. Pedro's strike was just as pretty, but the phantom foul spoiled everything. I'm assuming you know that the Lacrosse game was because of a rain delay, but just in case you didn't..... ....it was because of a rain delay.
  5. You know what happened to Jeyne in the books, right? Did you really think that Sansa was going to treated "nicely" by Ramsay Bolton? He was being polite up to that point because he had to make sure that Sansa would agree to the wedding, but once they were married, he had no reason to continue with his charade and the real Ramsay was back.
  6. From what I can tell, the suspension was less for knowing about the situation and more for being dishonest about the knowledge as well as being uncooperative with the investigation. That being said, I'll be very surprised if the suspension isn't reduced to one or two games. BTW: Benefiting defenders more than the QB and receivers is not a scientific fact.
  7. Someone on Westeros.org brought up the lack of outrage over Jaqen smacking Arya around. I agreed and brought up the lack of complaining about Ser Meryn slapping Sansa (at joff's behest) and of course zero outrage over The Hound murdering Micah. Sansa is a sympathetic character, whereas Arya is considered "tough".....and no-one cares about a minor character like the butcher's boy..
  8. FWIW, "I Saw the Devil" was on Movie Central a couple of years ago. I saw it just because I was channel surfing one night.
  9. Not that I saw. Certainly nothing like the current backlash. It wasn't even this bad when Talisa was stabbed in the stomach at the RW.
  10. I saw one comment on CBC that I thought was apropos: "Where was all the outrage when a man had his penis cut off"?
  11. Seems like some people are really up in arms about the latest episode, particularly the closing scene: http://www.cbc.ca/news/arts/game-of-thrones-rape-scene-prompts-outraged-fans-to-quit-the-series-1.3080201 Personally, I wonder what it was they were expecting to see. So far, we've seen beheadings, (a different sort of beheading for Theon) torture, other rape scenes, gratuitous sex and violence. I didn't really think the Ramsay-Sansa scene was not in keeping with what we've been watching since the series began. All I can say to those who have resolved to discontinue watching, is don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.
  12. Not even close. Ramsay threw himself half-naked into a fight with a bunch of Iron Born. (and looked to be enjoying himself) Joffrey hid behind his mother`s skirts during the Battle of the Blackwater...(and then took credit for his uncle`s victory)
  13. Iwan (pronounced "Eye-One") Rheon and he's Welsh, not Irish. He's also a musician. He has released 3 EP's and has just finished his first album. (No truth to the rumor of him being the lead singer of a heavy metal band called "Flayer"... )
  14. I thought people might be interested to know that even though the cast of GoT is almost exclusively Europeans, (the one exception being American Peter Dinklage) there is some Canadian content as well. This particular star has less lines than Hodor, but can convey more menace with a simple look than either of the Clegane brothers and is far more dangerous than a Sand Snake... Meet Quigley, a Calgary based denizen of the North: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/game-of-thrones-casts-alberta-wolf-as-jon-snow-s-canine-companion-1.3078253 So take that, Americans. You have The Imp, but we have Ghost.
  15. Swept by the 'Stros... I almost never break out the picard, but...
  16. I like the idea of adding some Canadian content to Canada's team, but I think it's probably time to put an end to the Jeff Francis experiment. Has he done the job even once this season? Having a lefty specialist who can't get lefties out is not much help to anyone.
  17. None of those hurt as much as the first one. (at least for me) Those were all games that the Bills deserved to lose, but that game against the Giants... Also, I'll never forgive Phillips for not starting Flutie against the Titans in 2000. IMHO, the Music City Miracle (which I'll go to my grave knowing was a forward lateral) never would have happened, had Phillips not gone back to Johnson.
  18. Montreal putting the boots to RSL right now....4-1... Positive result for the 'Caps, even though Real are six points back.
  19. Sabrefan and I had a nightmare like that once. Unfortunately, we woke up and realized that Scott Norwood was not a dream...
  20. Not exactly. Drogon did kill the shepherd's child, but was still out being a "free range" dragon, when the father came to Dany's court with her bones. At that point, she decided that it was too dangerous to have her dragons flying around free, so she locked up Rhaegal and Viserion. It wasn't so much punishment, (after all, it wasn't either of them that killed the child) as it was a measure to protect the people of Mereen and the surrounding area.
  21. It's all good. There's still plenty of people around to remind us how the rest of the world hates Tom Brady, 'cause he's so good.
  22. Maybe the dupe account theory turned out to be true....
  23. I've said enough about "deflate gate". I honestly don't really care anymore. That being said, I am really looking forward to seeing the signs that fans in Indy will be breaking out in week six! Should have to Colts totally pumped...
  24. Even if Gose keeps it up, I'm good with this deal. The Jays were solid in the outfield, especially with the emergence of Pillar. Second base was an area of need and Travis can hit, so even if Gose continues with his strong play, it's a good deal for the Jays.
