  1. A lot of people hate Sherman for being so cocky, but props to him for finishing that game. The tackle he made on Green Bay's final drive had to hurt like hell...
  2. Just snuck away to watch the last 5 minutes and wow... all of those people who turned the game off are going to be kicking themselves. I feel bad for Bostick. He's going to be wearing the goat horns, but that was a pretty poor effort in OT by the Packers' defensive secondary. I wonder if the zebras would have called the PI, had Kearse not been able to make the catch. No doubt in my mind, the DB made contact before the ball arrived. As a Bills fan, I can't stand the Pats, but I think Seattle - New England is a better Super Bowl than Seattle Indy. I won't bother cheering for anyone in the AFC Championship, but another game this close would be awesome.
  3. I liked most of those, but Mars Attacks is an all-time favorite and I thought 9 was excellent. Really underrated, IMO.
  4. With the seasons that Spiller and Jackson had, I have to wonder if there isn't a ton of work to do with the offensive line. If they can't open holes for the running backs, (who have shown in the past that they can do the job) then I think no matter who the QB is, they're going to have a rough go of it. I have to wonder if they are still behind Manuel as the QB of the future, or have given up on him. I suppose someone like Sanchez could be brought in, to give EJ more time to assimilate himself in the offense, but I wonder if he might be able to take on the starter's role, if the Bills can shore up the O-line. Better balance with an improved running game, better protection in passing situations.....it might make the difference for Manuel. As a Bills fan, I'm kind of torn by the hiring of Rex. On one hand, he's a big name and has had success in the past at turning teams around. (sort of like a poor man's Tuna) But I could live without the bombastic personality and the side show. That being said, if the on-field production is there, I don't care if Rex decides to show off his newly tattooed posterior at a presser.
  5. Care to elaborate for those who weren't watching TSN just now?
  6. He sure didn't look like a third-stringer.... Although I was disappointed at the loss, Ohio State is far preferable to me over 'Bama and FSU. Even though they clearly outplayed the Ducks, I still have to wonder what might have happened if not for those two early 3rd down drops...
  7. I didn't see the play (had to work) but there doesn't necessarily have to be contact for PI to be called. If the defender doesn't look back for the ball and puts his hands up in front of the receiver to deflect the ball away, it's pass interference. (sometimes called "screening")
  8. Couldn't have gone much better for me... Two teams that I despise done and finally a true Championship game. Hats off to the Buckeyes for getting it done with their third-string QB, but that's likely the last time I'll ever cheer for them. Lets go Ducks! Close the deal.
  9. Actually, it was said mostly tongue in cheek. I like Trestman and wouldn't mind seeing him end up in Buffalo. Maybe he can "fix" Manuel...
  10. Well, he sure did wonders for Cutler....
  11. As much as I enjoy seeing my team beat the Pats, I don't take much satisfaction from that win. I was obvious that New England were going through the motions and just trying to stay healthy. A winning season is great and finally breaking the losing streak in Foxboro is nice, but it doesn't mean a whole lot after laying that egg in Oakland last week. If the Bills had been able to win that game, then I'd be feeling good about yesterday's win.
  12. I drink like a fish, but I live 950 miles away. A buddy of mine is having a Wild Card Weekend bash next week, in lieu of the usual Super Bowl party. Got a bottle of Glenfiddich for Christmas which will certainly come in handy...
  13. As long as they're flooding the market with meaningless bowl games, I'd like to see a match up of two of the worst...say, Idaho against UMass (both 1-11) They could have American Standard sponsor and call it the Toilet Bowl....
  14. He does the same thing as Clutch, when he has to count to 11.... ...he leaves his fly unzipped. This is the way contracts sometimes work out. No-one was "concerned" when Burrows was massively underpaid at 2 million per, (except maybe for his agent) but now that he's not scoring like he did back then, we begrudge him a salary commensurate with what he's done for the team over the course of his career.
  15. What the? Burrows scores twice and no sign of Deb?
  16. Actually, I was just giving you the gears. I thought the emoticons would have conveyed that.
  17. Uh oh... Someone says that a team other than the Pats are the best team in football. NPF is going to lose it! Gonna be a bit tough, after barely squeaking it out over the Jets... Meanwhile, in a must win game, my guys lose to the frikken Raiders Peyton? No worries, we'll shut him down. Rodgers? Piece of cake. Derek Carr? Well, we tried.
  18. Nice win for my guys against the Pack. That's two future hall of fame QBs held without a TD pass in the last two weeks! Being a Bills fan normally means that you're already thinking about next season when December rolls around. It's still an uphill battle to make the post season, but honestly, it's just nice to be playing games that mean something this late in the year!
  19. Not the first drive that Newton has been unable to complete....
  20. Yeah, I made a celebratory post the next day, in this very thread. In fact, with the amount (or lack thereof) of posters who frequent this thread, it's probably just a few pages back...
  21. It's pretty easy to get on any Western bandwagon, actually. After 40 years of cheering for the Sooners, I hate just about every team in the Central, Southern and Eastern parts of the U.S. The Ducks are an easy team to like. Any squad with the balls to wear that much yellow is okay by me.
  22. Can't believe my guys blew it against the friggin' Cowboys... on a punt return, no less. Oh well. Jumping on the Ducks' bangwagon. I can't decide which team I'd less like to see win the National Championship, 'Bama or FSU...I don't really like the Buckeyes either, but they'd be far preferable to me if the Ducks can't do it.
  23. I think they're probably banking on Nolin as much as Lawrie. Lawrie's biggest issue was injuries. He did have problems with consistency at the plate, but some of that could be attributed to injuries as well. However, I don't know where you get the idea that he was inconsistent on the defensive side of the game. For my money, he was up there with guys like Beltre and JD as a defensive 3rd basemen. It's the main reason that the Jays were exploring the possibility of adding the Panda....they figured they could just move Brett to 2nd...
  24. Any day the 'Huskers lose is a good day....
