  1. If not for money and family considerations, I'd be golfing all the time. As it is, I usually get out a couple of times a year. I'm a decent player for a part-timer, and I usually target breaking 100 as a good day.
  2. Good. I'm tired of watching the Williams sisters win.
  3. I knew something was missing from this year's playoffs...... ..it was the bow and arrow shot by Burrows.
  4. Much better compete level from Burr on Friday. Hopefully whatever was ailing him is in the past, and we'll see the Alex we're used to again tonight.
  5. This is a couple of images of my band at the Music and Friends outdoor festival in Kitimaat village in 2008. I'm in the middle. Just me. This year's festival is in Hockeyville (Terrace) in mid-July. For more info: Music and Friends
  6. It's just that one or two of the choir members are singing a little off-key ....
  7. You're extra cynical today, Steamer. No milk for your Corn Flakes this morning?
  8. Some of us would maintain that he was a pinhead then, too.
  9. We tried to hit 100 pages during the playoffs, but fell short. %@$(*&^ Blackhawks!
  10. That was my impression as well. The content of his posts certainly supports it, and I've yet to see him come out and deny it. Clutch = Pinhead. It's pretty much perfect.
  11. Again we come to the cause/effect situation Wolfman. My assertion would be that these two guys are perennial finalists because they are head and shoulders above the rest of the field. While beating Nadal and Federer is certainly a tall order, I don't see it as being more difficult than surviving a draw that includes Borg, McEnroe, Connors, Nastase, Ashe, Gerulaitis and the huge serve of Roscoe Tanner.
  12. At the start of the season at least, I'd expect Gabby to be playing with Demo. Alex will stick with the twins if MG can somehow sign both of them and Gaborik.
  13. I don't have access to his "little black book", but I'm going to hazard a guess that he has.
  14. He scored a pretty big one against the Blues as I recall.....
  15. A matter of opinion I suppose WJ, but I will say that in this era of "specialists", Nadal generally dominates the slower surfaces while Federer excels on the faster ones. There are exceptions, such as in the case of this year's French open and last year's Wimbledon, but it is a general trend for these two players. Borg won the French 6 times and Wimbledon 5 times. That's a very complete player in my book.
  16. While it's true that the lower ranked players weren't as good then, it's also true that the higher ranked players aren't as much of a threat in this era. Borg went into most tournaments with the prospect of beating the likes of McEnroe, Connors, Nastase and Ashe for the championship. I don't believe that Federer or Sampras has had the same level of competition on a regular basis.
  17. RF is one of the all-time greats, but Bjorn Borg is the greatest of all time.
  18. Seeing Williams ousted almost makes up for Ivanovic and Sharapova being out of the tournament. With her and Venus being gone, I could happily see anyone win on the women's side. My money is on Safina.
  19. It was sarcasm Deb. Just a subtle little dig at Clutch. (if he's around) Maybe too subtle?
  20. I was hoping we could hit 100 pages before the playoffs were over, but we failed miserably. Just like Burrows.
  21. Not sure why you would expect this to be locked. Yes, there are some shots being taken at Clutch, but to my knowledge no-one has brought his mom or sister into the conversation, so you can't argue personal attacks. Nobody has posted any porn, although I daresay that Clutch probably feels a little naked right now. I suppose you could say the thread lacks substance, but I'm pretty sure this would be the first 82 page substance lacking thread in the history of this board. Onward and upward, says I.
  22. That's the spirit. Keep 'em coming guys!
  23. You know, I was ready to let this thread go, as I really couldn't think of much to add to it anymore. But now at 80 pages and counting, I think we should shoot for 100. Think of the bragging rights for Clutchy. He can claim to have made a statement so abysmally stupid that it kept the mockery of said statement alive for 100 pages! That's something to tell your grandchildren about. Now I know another 20 pages in the short time left in the season is a tall order. It's going to require that people lower their standards a bit. (I somehow managed to type that with a straight face) There will need to be several substanceless posts, eg. "Clutch = Fail", etc., maybe some finger pointing (Nelson's HA HA! is always a nice touch), and anything else that we can come up with. If anyplace can come up with 20 pages of nothing, I say it's us! So come on CDC, let's hit 100 pages just to show Clutch that we're thinking of him. Damn the flood control!
  24. No kidding. He should at least be scrapping with his teammates like Kes and Juice. Hopefully he's at least been asking around the dressing room as to how everyone's sister is.
