  1. I'm not going to wade through 10 pages of content, so apologies if this opinion has already been expressed.... Provorov absolutely has the right to decline the event....for whatever reason. However, the same latitude should be extended to any player for whatever their reasons are. Don't want to stand at attention for the anthem? Fine. Sit on the bench until it's over. (or kneel, I guess ) Don't like wars? Fine. Don't participate in any military themed events. If it's going to be about "freedom", it can't only be about "religious freedom". It has to be a level playing field.
  2. Brady picked off in the end zone.... Right now Bucs' coaches are scrambling to hide all the iPads....
  3. Just going to say that it's ridiculous that a 12-5 team has to play on the road against a team that went 8-9.... Same with the Chargers having to cross the country to play in Jacksonville, although that one wasn't quite as egregious....
  4. I have to SMH a bit at this recent trend of Monday (and sometimes Sunday) morning articles of how "fans are furious" over this or that missed call from the previous day's action...it seems like there is at least one article for every game... This morning I read about a "blatant false start" by the Giants on a play that resulted in a touchdown....was it a false start? Yes. Was it "blatant"? Not really..... Still, in the comments section of a tweet that someone posted after the game, one Viking fans complained about how the NFL was so "obviously rigged" and how they would "never allow a small market team like the Vikings to win".... Now, as a fan of a small market team that has never won a Super Bowl myself, it's tempting to believe that the deck is stacked against you, but it doesn't really stand up to any scrutiny....The smallest market in the NFL is the Green Bay Packers. Yet they somehow have managed to overcome this league bias...Pittsburgh is hardly a large market, but they've done okay.... Even the Vikings - Giants game yesterday.....sure, Vikings fans can complain about the missed false start, but what about the questionable roughing the passer penalty that gave Kirk Cousins another chance, after what could have (and some would say "should have") ended his night....
  5. The Ravens had 2 series with a 1st and goal from the 3 yard line....on the first one, they threw 3 incompletions and had to settle for a field goal...On the second opportunity, they decided to throw on 1st down again.... They have a good running game. They should have used it....
  6. He wasn't just another pretty face..... RIP Gino....
  7. A guy Rourke's size is always going to be a huge long shot to start in the NFL, but when you can triple your current income just to carry a clipboard, it's crazy not to take the deal.... Hopefully, the Leos are trying to sign Kurtis as we speak....
  8. That was a fugly win.... Gotta be a lot better next week, or the Bengals will destroy them....
  9. Damn..... All of my musical heroes are in their 70s and 80s....it won't be too long before they're all gone.....
  10. True dat. Still, it doesn't hurt to have that lefty bat as an option. Especially if Merrifield and Espy go a bit cold.
  11. ....or his older brother.....Intermediate Fernandez....
  12. Well they addressed the back of the rotation starter......sort of....a guy who went 3-10 with an ERA north of 5.00 last season with the Pirates.... The stats are pretty underwhelming (average 92 MPH fastball) but he's only making $700k.....so there's that.....
  13. Yeah, I don't hate the move, but i wonder if that 9 million could have been better spent on the bullpen, or a back of the rotation starter.... Hopefully BB does have a bounce back season.
  14. When they originally decided to implement the "shift" rule, I felt like nobody in baseball would benefit more than Cavan Biggio.....with the possible exception of Joey Gallo....
  15. Jays sign Brandon Belt to a 1 yr deal.... https://www.sportsnet.ca/mlb/article/blue-jays-sign-1b-brandon-belt-to-one-year-9-3m-deal/ TBH, I'm having a bit of a tough time wrapping my head around this one...The Jays are pretty much set at 1B....I suppose BB could be insurance against injury and can be the guy when Vladdy is at DH, or needs a day off....and he adds another lefty to the batting order....but... 9 million per seems like a lot of money for a 34 year-old who hit .213 last season and was limited to 78 games because of injuries... Belt walks a lot, which is something that the lineup doesn't have in abundance, but again, that seems like a lot of money...
  16. Yeah, this has the makings of a blowout.... I doubt anything will change, until the NCAA institutes some recruiting rules to level the playing field....
  17. The 'Caps signing a player from South America? Say it ain't so.....
  18. Even though they're a division rival, I'm jumping on the TCU bandwagon for this game. Nothing against the Bulldogs (other than being based in GA) but how can you not cheer for a team called the Horned Frogs?
  19. Most people just use the paper bag....although I do kind of like this one:
  20. According to the Chief of Surgery at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Hamlin "set off every alarm in the ICU" when Nyheim Hines took the opening kickoff the distance for a TD against the Patriots on Sunday.....
  21. Yeah, he should totally replace that bum KC has right now.... ....preferably ASAP....
  22. It's a good thing WASPs don't make honey, or we'd have a whole new batch of anti-vaxxers flying around....
  23. Nobody can accuse the Texans of tanking.... that final series was pretty much a microcosm of how it's gone for the Colts this season....
