Nor sure if that would be legal, but the commute between Vancity and Wales would be pretty brutal....

You hate to say "what if"...but the fact is, if Sinclair converts that penalty against Nigeria, we're already home and cooled. Instead, we need a result against the 10th ranked host nation that is desperate for a win.... -
Looking at the score online, it's 1-1 in the 90th minute....

Watching the Giants and Bosox and once again, the umps have been brutal. Giants pitchers and hitters are getting hosed in the last inning and a half.... -

Pretty funny comment on the deal : "The trade is pending approval from Matt Chapman".... -
Because you claimed that he was an expert, which he is not. If he was "silenced" it's because he was promoting dangerous disinformation and it has nothing to do with being "left". If you're an MD, gullible people might assume that you know what you're talking about and in the midst of a global pandemic, that puts people in danger. I would argue that "the right" isn't some bastion of "free speech" either. Maybe you've noticed the boycott of Bud Light, or the crackdown on Disney, after they criticized the "don't say gay" bill.... Where's your faux outrage over those?
-
Maybe...but he isn't a "World leading Epidemiologist" as you claimed. He's a guy who puts his personal freedoms ahead of the safety of the general public and he's a proponent of Herd Immunity, which many actual experts in infectious diseases see as not only ill-informed, but dangerous. BTW: You didn't expand on what you claimed was a "universally agreed upon response to the pandemic". Should we assume that this statement was as inaccurate as your claim about Battacharya's credentials?

Terrible pitch selection....you just blew a 98 MPH fastball by Renfroe, so you back it up with a hanging curve.... -

Just saw a report that says the Rangers have acquired Max Scherzer from the Mets.... The Mets reportedly get Luisangel Acuna, who is the younger brother of Ronald Acuna Jr. -
Nice pick. Too bad it cost the team 15 yards of field position....

Where do you get the idea that Battacharya is a "world leading Epidemiologist"? According to Wiki, he's an MD with a PhD in Economics. He's also known for being a member of the Hoover Institute, which appears to be made up of Libertarians. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jay_Bhattacharya Battacharya was also one of the authors of the Great Barrington Declaration. (I hope that isn't what you were talking about when you said, "a universally agreed upon response to a pandemic"....because it certainly was not) The GBD was basically calling for herd immunity and it did so before vaccines were available... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Barrington_Declaration

Yeah, maybe... I suppose the problem I have with all of these is why such an advanced civilization is visiting us "insects" in tiny little ships that we have no trouble detecting, yet we never seem to see them entering earth orbit. (or even the cosmic neighbourhood) And if they don't need to live in a Goldilocks zone, what is it about earth that they find interesting? -

Yep. It's really little more than hearsay at this point... I've made this point several times before in other threads, but I absolutely believe there are other civilizations out there....and I absolutely believe they're not occasionally dropping in on us like visitors to a cosmic zoo. The speed of light is a universal constant and the distances involved with travelling between star systems are just too extreme. If aliens were visiting, it would be on some kind of Generational ship and they'd be coming for a good reason.... -

Tough news for the Bengals. There are a lot of good teams in the AFC....their best best might be to hope they can hold off the Ravens in the AFC North.

Just read that Nate Pearson has been recalled. Looks like Romano might go on the IL. Also see that Ohtani's cramping has subsided and he'll be in the lineup today. -
I was watching and it was an inexplicable decision by the coaching staff. Hamilton had stopped Ottawa on 3rd down and thanks to a taunting penalty, had to scrimmage from their 2 yard line with enough time on the clock for two plays. There were two ways for the Ti-Cats to handle it....you could take the knee twice, or, if you think you don't have enough room to do that, (thanks to the bonehead taunting penalty) you bring in the short yardage QB.... You don't leave your starter in and have him run the keeper.....it was beyond stupid and I'm mystified as to why Steinauer let it happen. I'd be having a couple of four letter words with my OC....

TBH, I think it's all a bit overblown. This kind of thing happens more than we think, just not usually out in the open where the cameras can pick it up. I'd be willing to bet that Chapman wishes he handled it differently. I don't so much question pitching to Ohtani, but moreso the pitch selection. Gausman basically grooved a get ahead fastball to a guy who had hit home runs in consecutive games. Ohtani should have gotten a steady diet of splitters and if he walks, so be it.... -
