  1. Only if you kissed a squirrel and you liked it, the taste of its furry chapped lips..
  2. I didn’t necessarily mean over the players you mentioned, but he should be given a chance in training camp and the preseason to see if he is ready for the big club, because he is excelling at the AHL level. Maybe you’re right and he’s not quite ready, but I think he’s earned the opportunity. Of course all the other players you mentioned deserve the same opportunity as well. I’m not trying to take anything away from them. It’s more that I’ve been very impressed with Bains.
  3. I used to drive trains but I got sidetracked.
  4. Dries has 10 goals in just over a half season though, so that might backfire. Replace him with Aman or Studnicka.
  5. Yeah. It’s weird though because Dries has managed to score 10 goals himself in just over a half season. Maybe he’s just not a good set up man. He seems to have potential to score 20 goals a season though. Not bad for a bottom 6 forward.
  6. Can’t sleep. Too stressed out. Not even melatonin helped.

I have been without a working oven for a month now and I have a freezer full of food I cannot cook as a result.

My landlord said he sent a repairman twice to take a look at the oven, but I was home all day those days and nobody knocked on my door.

My stove seems to still work. The issue with the oven is it won’t heat up.

I contacted a repairman myself and was told the part needed to fix it was no longer available, as it is an old model. It’s almost 20 years old.

However, my landlord didn’t believe me and again said he’d send a repairman to fix it.

    Another no show.

By the way, he wants to bill me for all these times that he allegedly sent a repairman to look at my oven.

Now, I am completely broke and cannot afford to buy more groceries I can cook on my stove or even in my microwave.

I honestly don’t know what to do. I’m freaking out and losing my mind.

Wish I could share it with all the wonderful people who have been supportive throughout this!

Also, @Sean Monahan, it sounds like you had a much better and more considerate landlord than I do.

Despite the resolution of the problem, I am going to be looking for another place to rent. This guy has caused me a lot of stress and raised my blood pressure level over just about the last 2 years since my kidneys failed. I’m trying to focus on my recovery and still work as much as I can and he’s only made things worse.

As soon as I gave him the news about my diagnosis, his response was “That’s nice. Where’s my rent money?”

I wish I was only joking.

@Citizen Erased I absolutely did. He got us a bottle of Jack Daniels and some cineplex gift cards for a Christmas present. Any issues that arose he’d have dealt with as soon as reasonably possible. He was so laid back about it all I actually thought I got ripped off after I gave him the deposit. I was nervous as hell until I got the keys. The four of us who rented that place originally are all gone but two of them stayed for 7 years and friends of theirs have it now. More landlords like that need to exist.

If I were you I’d look for something better but don’t poke the bear in the meantime.

  7. So glad to see he has finally recovered and may be able to play again. It just goes to show you how bad that virus really is when it’s so negatively affecting an otherwise healthy young man in the prime of his life. I myself had it a year ago and fortunately I was able to recover in a week and didn’t need to be hospitalized for it and my immune system is far more compromised than his.
  8. Some day maybe Watson will win the fight and Debrincat will stay out for the night.
  9. Might have to start predicting the Canucks to win to help with the tank, like some kind of reverse psychology.
  10. The incident you are referring to is the 2nd time they almost had Gretzky. He liked the terms of the offer but wanted the night to think it over. Ownership demanded Quinn pressure Gretzky to sign immediately. The first incident is from several years earlier involving a blockbuster trade, similar to what eventually came to fruition between the Oilers and the Kings. The sticking point from what I recall was a large sum of cash going Edmonton’s way. It was 7 figures, though I forget exactly how much. Ownership said no to that.
