If he wants the security, and the ability to rehab with team doctors he's familiar with, he needs to take a 1 year prove-it deal.
There isn't going to be a massive rush by other teams to sign a guy who's going to sit out the first half of the year with a significant shoulder injury, especially when he's a bottom pairing quality player.
