Random question:
Gas or Electric snowblower?
I'm getting one soon, but which one? 4-5 car driveway size. Live in the interior of BC.
-
This morning I ordered the Greenworks Electric 2 stage snowblower from Costco - it's cheaper there than from Greenworks own website on sale lol.
I already have their mower so I have a few batteries and have been very satisfied with that unit - hopefully the snow machine will work as well. Either way, being from Costco, if it doesn't perform, it'll go back and I'll get a gas powered unit.

Thanks Ghost,
I'm deciding b/t a 2-stage gas vs. a 2-stage electric battery powered unit.
I've read that gas units are powerful, but noisy and a hassle with gas/oil/maintenance while electric are virtually maintenance-free but may or may not be able to handle large volumes - especially if it's wet.
Looking for any first-hand user experience, especially anyone who owns an electric since that's the way I'm leaning right now.
Appreciate any relevant feedback.

These NESN Bruins announcers are SO awful...this TB/Bos game is only watchable w/o audio sadly.
-
Hope you're proud of yourself JR, that was one of the most classless debacles in franchise history. Sad part, the books not closed on this wasted season.

Lots of injuries to key guys on contending teams right now.
Got to think a GM might want to get a jump on the trade market and get things rolling.....

What are people's thoughts on RHD Sandin-Pellikka?
We're currently sitting in a draft position at just about his predicted final ranking? Or Willander - he's ranked lower but fills organizational need.

CDC seems to have selective hatred for other teams and players. Alf hates all non Canucks. Who joins Alf (one eye) in proper hatred?
-
Why do Veterans wait in the cold for 'dignitaries' to arrive during Remembrance Day ceremonies? Shouldn't it be the other way around?
-
With 98,051 members on CDC, if we all threw in a mere $15,000 (approx.) each, we could buy the Canucks and run the team democratically.

I feel like we haven't seen the last of Alex Chaisson. It definitely wouldn't be the first time he went the PTO route.

Ever come across symptoms for a terrible medical condition - then realize you seemingly have all of them?

Thanks Vinny, appreciate the perspective.
I understand where the jokes are coming from, but I can assure people I'm not the worrying type whatsoever. I so rarely see the Dr that my family Dr actually dropped me as a patient (but I convinced him to see me again). Bottom line my Dr said I definitely did the right thing in making an appointment- we're doing a battery of testing to, as you said Vinny, rule things out....

Just noticed TSN put both WJC semi-final games on their 4/5 channel. Probably because there aren't any Laffs prospects on Team Canada.

why haven't the canucks signed Aston-Reese yet let's go

Just traveled across the country via Air Canada. Was it a smooth experience, no - but we got our luggage so I'm thankful for that.

Nicolas Roy should be our #1 target once free agency opens imho. Young, big, right shot center fits our need for a shut down 3C perfectly.
-
I don't know Roy's contract situation (his QO and how that fits Vegas' cap) but one guy I'd look seriously at is Nick Paul. Seems like he'd come in at a lower AAV than a guy like Roy but provide similar value on-ice.
I keep hearing Manson's name being brought up, but like everyone else I just watched the Avs sweep the Coil, and witnessed Manson get absolutely exposed defensively throughout that series which makes me re-think that idea.

I'm still giddy from yesterday's game. That was a spectacular way to watch the Oilers get eliminated.

Anyone smell a battle of Alberta brewing next round? That’d be something

Who are some realistic d targets the Canucks can acquire?
Looking at a guy like Justin Schultz.

I would consider doing a sign/trade involving Boeser to NJ for Mukhamudullin (or maybe even Ball plus a pick). Rumor was that there was interest from NJ for one of our wingers (Boeser/Garland) at some point. Hockey trade that benefits both clubs and not ridiculous on the value which most proposals are on CDC. I know for sure that Shakir and Podz were on at least two Russian National teams together (Zlodeyev may have been teammates as well but I can't remember that clearly) as they came up through the ranks and that couldn't hurt for them to have at least one comrade on the team:).

Thank you hockey god for giving the Oilers this weak goaltending duo.

I'm getting bell-notifications for threads others post in. I didn't subscribe to these and they're not quotes or mentions?

Should the NHL implement a max cap hit for the layoffs
-
Cap limit in PO isn't the answer, it's widely speculated that the NHL is aware that some teams are 'manipulating' LTIR and are actively investigating ways to address this concern, understanding that the owners/players themselves would be the ones to ratify any CBA changes. One proposed CBA change is that any player not activated during the regular season at least 'x' amount of time before the last regular season game automatically becomes ineligible for the 1st round of PO. If this or some iteration of this idea was accepted it might help, but still won't solve the LTIR issue totally.

Rutherford in COVID protocol. Not good timing unfortunately.
-
I mean first of all I hope he makes a full recovery - he has to be somewhat 'at risk' simply because of age. For some reason or other, right or wrong, I just envisioned him and Allvin making any meaningful decisions together, at least this time around, and Allvin gradually taking over altogether at a later time.

Do the Rangers make a big move for Miller today?

In my view the 'aging out' factor is negligible for a team in 'win now' mode - you get the guy you need right now and worry about the details a bit down the road, but a very real concern for a team like us who likely won't be in our 'window' for 2-3 years. That's one of the biggest reasons I feel we should be sellers this season.
