  1. The truth is going to come out eventually - the NHL is a pretty small community relatively speaking so if he ends up with another organization it's not like he can hide that. As others have mentioned this just adds to the sham of an organization they're running over there unfortunately.
  2. I don't think NYI entertain that proposal - at least not seriously anyway. At this point I keep hearing/reading numerous articles labeling OJ as a bottom pairing contributor at best (not that agree with that but I've read it several times in the media lately). Making him and a 2nd a borderline wash in any trade essentially. Then if you consider the known fact that young, mobile PMD are always worth more than middle six forwards (especially if they're on ELC and the forward being traded isn't) then I believe you could easily argue NYI lose this trade - not by a landslide mind you, but I don't think they'd like this one.
  3. Nice. Hopefully Demko and this mask see some actual game action soon. Not that I don't want Marky playing......
  4. Anyone got the clip of BoHo ripping on Virt?
  5. 2022 3rd rd pick + rights to Tryamkin to KRAKEN for 'expansion considerations'. Are teams even going to make 'expansion consideration' trades with the KRAKEN this time around or did the GM's learn their lessons from the last time? Don't sweat the trade to much folks, honestly just wanted to make a trade proposal to the KRAKEN to see what it would sound like.
  6. Looks like he's acting as though he didn't do anything when the play is whistled dn. If someone did that to Panarin the Rangers would be calling for double digit games suspension.
  7. ^This! JV has shown legit potential to be a 20g+ scorer who's physically involved in the game and who, while he's still learning the ropes on/off the ice of being a pro athlete, is young enough that he could be considered a 'core' asset for a long time. Can't adequately relate how frustrating it is to see all these threads about trading Jake/Brock/Demko/Gawd/ect.. Maybe some ppl haven't been around long enough to remember what it was like when we had NO prospects/young kids whatsoever of this caliber? Yeah, I get the issues of the cap and contract clauses but giving away all of our depth doesn't sound like a way to build a contender.
  8. No to helping Chicago even if it helps us. Yes, I still remember.
  9. Hughes should win but that has never stopped the eastern sports biased media from effing things up in the past on several occasions.
  10. I didn't think one needed 'luck' to find guys (or their wives) wanting out of Edmonton lol....
  11. I would say I respect his opinion on hockey related matters. Name one other TV commentator with anywhere near his level of experience in various management/league roles? Not saying he's always right (who is?) or that I always agree with the guy - but unlike many others in the business he's walked the walk when he makes comments about hockey matters and I've heard him own his bad moves several times on air so he doesn't dodge the heat so to speak. I'm grateful, as a lifelong Canucks fan, that he got us the twins.
  12. Great article AJ. Burning question - will Demko eventually be on this list or....?
  13. LE, Beagle, Roussel, Sutter, and Myers - essentially everyone with a contract that would help us greatly if it were moved, all have a NTC or M-NTC and I'm thinking Ottawa is one of the first places on the list of teams they cannot be traded to. So there's that issue.....
  14. Exactly sid. Shows you the true nature of these pigs. Their only concern is to protect their 'old boys club' at all costs - and I hope it all comes crashing down and costs them a lot.
  15. This shouldn't be an issue - players should absolutely be in shape and the coaching staff should not have to 'hope' they come prepared. For how much they are compensated, and how much the franchise invests in them they should be required to maintain certain fitness levels - yes, I understand things are different wt covid, and nobody is expecting 'game shape' but Green should know his guys are in shape, not hope they are. Ok, I'll get off my soapbox now. Enjoy the weekend everyone.
  16. This is a joke, right.....Calling a building, which is inherently bad for the climate, 'Climate Pledge' Arena....ok. I mean artificial ice-rinks and climate change......come'on Amazon.
  17. They tried this before and it FAILED MISERABLY! I don't think they'll go this route anytime soon. The NHL has a deal in place in Canada with Rogers until 2026 and all of their national/regional broadcast affiliates have sold subscriptions/cable packages based, in part, on this agreement and others like it. They can't renege on these subscriptions without financial consequences so I don't see them going the PPV route in the near future.
