  1. I mean, on one hand, is this really that bad - if/when they resume, and it all goes to s$#T, we (Vancouver/BC) won't be directly involved with it.
  2. Let's be honest Phillip, would Bettman try to get the NHL to resume play if his 31 Billionaire bosses didn't want him to.......? I think not. He's a puppet, not a puppet master - the owners want to scrounge every last penny they can from this failed season under the veiled guise of 'health and safety first and foremost' and Bettman is tasked with making it happen. He always has been, and always will be a puppet to the owners.
  3. Ok what's plan 'B' for the GM's/Owners who are up against a decreasing cap with player's they would like to sign and rosters they would like to fill out?
  4. Was I just wrong to assume, in his case, his time in the KHL will essentially be his stint in the minors?
  5. This article is calling Florida the next 'epicenter'. I can see why TBL shut down their facilities. https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/18/us/us-coronavirus-thursday/index.html
  6. Not really surprising. FLA's rates are rising exponentially are they not?
  7. I think it goes without saying that if you show up and are thinking you're going to use this 'mini-camp' to get in shape - you're already done-for. If you haven't put the work in already, you're going to be watching from the hotel. Sadly, I don't think fitness was ever one of LE's issues.
  8. I'm struggling with knowing it's wishful thinking that LE/JB mutually terminate his contract after his bonus is paid vs. how much real cap relief that gives the team vs. how realistic is this scenario is in the first place? Wishful thinking says do it and solve all our problems. Reality says this is unlikely and even if it happens we still got some concerns.
  9. Sadly, I think we all know politics will play as big a factor in the final decision as health/safety/common sense. You think the center of the hockeyverse (TO) is gonna be left out of this even if fans aren't going to be there....not a chance. You think the NHL BOG aren't going to include at least 1 (if not more) of their 'flagship' NHL cities (Chi/LV)....not a chance. This won't be about health/safety, this will be a highly political decision, let's face it.
  10. Lol.....are you trying to incite CDC, you're doing a great job
  11. Lack of consistency is a hallmark of young players - especially power forwards (and let's not kid anyone - JV was drafted as a PF and those who were objective knew his development wouldn't match the curve of his peer group). This is where veteran mentorship and quality coaching come into play. You take the stretches where he was excellent and, as I mentioned apply the coaching/mentorship, pro-rate that across a full season and that is where a guy like JV becomes a true asset. Maybe you're right and he continues to be inconsistent - I think at 23yo he's too young to give up on yet. I realize there's other assets who are UFA and this puts pressure on the franchise, but if JV could continue to improve next year by the same amount as he did this year he'd be a 20-25 goal, 40-50pt player who could be a physical presence - those players are few and far between.
  12. Far better players than TT (Crosby/McJesus) have taken discounts to remain with teams they knew would need cap considerations to build/keep a competitive team. I know the career earnings of guys like Crosby/McJesus are not directly comparable to guys like TT, but I've always believed that if TT wants to stay with this club and maybe experience something like he did in LA - he will need to be flexible on his next deal. If not, I'm 100% sure some team out there will pay him what he wants as he's a proven performer with a lot of experience. TT was here long enough to get an understanding of what has been built here so far and what this core could be capable of - it's clear JB wants him to re-up so it's up to TT to decide what direction he wants to go with the next step of his career.
  13. Can you expand on this evidence? I thought he had an excellent season - not saying it was a 'breakout' season, but he definitely showed marked improvement and should develop even more next season imo.
  14. Seems like the inmates (or at least one prominent one) are running the show there..... Boggles the mind that a guy like Pegula can build an economic empire worth over 5 billion dollars but can't find someone competent to run his sports franchise.
  15. What, no Instagram in Russia? You can run, but you can't hide.......
  16. I'm literally listening to the band "The War On Drugs" right now. They're an excellent band - "Under The Pressure" is a great song!
  17. I'm curious to see if Trump wants to wage war on his own people in Seattle.......? Ooops, wrong thread.....
  18. At the very least, I would imagine the teams themselves might invoke some measures so as their own assets don't put themselves at risk. If I'm JB, I'm requiring (or 'encouraging' if the CBA does't allow for 'require') my players to limit contact with anyone outside of their own families and/or team personnel when the season resumes.
  19. Not to mention this could be seen as undermining BLM movements in society since, from the article, it's unsubstantiated.
  20. While I agree, he needs to go. Conduct detrimental to the league or whatever bs reason they make up is fine. That said, he'd need to do something far, far worse than squabble with a charitable organization in order for the NHL BOG to force him out - all of the league owners know that if they get rid of him, any one of them who makes a wrong step could be next and they don't want to wage war on their own 'old boys club'.
  21. When I put a new sim card into my phone yesterday - it 'factory reset' the device which wiped the smart-switch transfer I did.

Will inserting a new sd card also 'factory reset' the device?

no SD is external it has nothing to do with the internal harddrive.

I was worried b/c the sim card and the sd card both insert into the same small tray which you remove with that metal pin that came with the phone.  That and the salesperson who sold me the sim card didn't mention ANYTHING about a 'factory reset' when I told them I had already done the smart-switch data transfer.

It should give you a warning it's going to factory reset so you can then backup the phone. Iphones don't do a factory reset with sim cards being changed. Kinda odd that your phone did one when you put it in.

  22. This reflects my own real-life experience. I had to go to the grocery store the other day so I moved my once-per-week grocery shop to wed instead of Fri morning and I was shocked. Since the last time I was at the store (I think May 22) a lot has changed. My grocery store is on the other side of a huge complex of big-box stores so I drove through the main strip just to see what's what and it was packed. I wouldn't have been able to find a parking spot even if I wanted to (I didn't). No social distancing being visibly followed on the sidewalk and almost nobody wearing masks. Both Costco and Home Depot which had pretty good distancing measures in place to enter their premises no longer practicing this whatsover (at least not outside like they were before). I know that Costco, who previously shut down their food concession, has reopened because there were several people in the parking lot with the good old costco hot-dog/drink specials. Even in my grocery store they took down the sign over the shopping carts indicating they were sanitized presumably meaning they are no longer doing this for customers so in approximately a week - there have been substantial changes towards 'business as usual' for better or worse. We all knew the measures wouldn't last forever, but I was hoping some of them would be in place until this 'second wave' was upon us for preventative measures if nothing else.
