  1. It would be difficult to envision Markstrom going to a bottom-feeder just to get PAID when he of all people would know what this team has been building towards and what we could be capable of in the next couple years (I said could, so everyone calm down, ok). That said, we've all seen guys leave winning/championship programs just so they can get PAID, so in that regard, it wouldn't surprise me one bit.
  2. Can't imagine what they would have been offering? One of their 50+ picks in this year's draft maybe? Unless it was a higher pick, I think Goldy is more valuable in Utica right now helping them go as far as possible and getting our prospects valuable p/o experience this year and serving as a call-up if/when necessary.
  3. Chara is dirty no question, but imo he gets the benefit of the doubt every time because he is (was) a completely dominant player playing for one of the leagues flagship franchises. You take action against him (and his team) then you're taking action against yourself and the NHL would never allow that. But go ahead and suspend Aaron Rome, who cares about him or his team, right?
  4. These final games are going to be a test for several teams, not just us. Years of rigging the game by the NHL has finally resulted in as much parity as we've ever seen in the sport at this level. 5 teams could be in as easily as they're out - it's a grind for everyone.
  5. Sorry Jan, but I completely disagree. I'm not saying our D is compromised of six #1/2 guys, but Quinn, Tanev, Eagle and maybe even Myers could play in the regular rotation of almost every current playoff team imo and be an upgrade to those teams. To say otherwise would be implying they're not even better than guys like Gryzlek, Jensen, Schenn, Gudas, ect... who will all end up playing in the post season. Even Juice last week on HNIC was saying defense is the strongest component of this team and he typically tells it like it is.
  6. Less than a week ago JB himself said he sees up to 7 prospects ready for full-time duty on the roster in the next few seasons. Nothings guaranteed but I'd hardly call our cupboards bare, not even close actually.
  7. This is gonna be a tight one this year. Huggy Bear has the edge in overall points as well as PPP and TOI/GP, but Makar has slightly better P/GP and his +/- is better (yeah, I know +/- isn't the be all/end all stat). At least they're both in the West so the TSN eastern bias shouldn't be as much of a factor as it typically is every year.
  8. If accurate, this answers a big question, no pun intended.
  9. To me, there are simply too many variables in play to accurately project a possible line-up for next year or beyond. JB has said many times in the past they have a cap-plan in place - he's given me no reason in the past to doubt him on this.
  10. Can likely trace this back to the comments made a while ago where JB identified (not necessarily named) as many as 7 prospects as being withing a year or two of making the team.

  12. On a somewhat related note, didn't Victoria just vote 'no' to free busses for kids or was that somewhere else?
  13. Would you trade Quinn Hughes for Travis Konecny? It's pretty much the equivalent imo and I doubt we'd do that. Provorov is their Hughes, he's not going anywhere.
