So what is the official word on Markstrom? Why are we acquiring goalie depth?
Did that stick through the mask Saturday do more damage than initially thought or......?
Juice also said he likes Vancouver's chemistry and their d-core is a strength of the team right now.
He doesn't think bringing in a guy just to bring in a guy is a good idea - could mess with the chemistry which is obviously working really well right now.
He was.
Then he didn't report to AHL, knowing full well that Buf would likely go ahead and seek to terminate his contract. He's actually getting what he wanted all along this way. There's a reasonable chance a playoff team signs him as a UFA now.
You're asking the wrong questions imo.
The real question is how long can we afford to ice a contending team as them being part of the core? Hint, we wont be competitive for the duration of their careers - just ask Hank/Danny.
JB has said repeatedly in the past that he's always talking to other GM'S, always.
Anything coming out of media in the next week before tdl has to be taken with an even bigger grain of salt imo as they get even more nuts than average fans.....it's all about the ratings to them.
Simmonds was previously traded for Hartman & conditional 4th so if anything I'd say his value is slightly lower than that right now just because he's a year older and we're by no means guaranteed a playoff spot.
I would consider BB/ Stetcher for Greenway/one of the firsts that Min currently holds.
Min gets hometown kid and a very serviceable defenceman(not replacement so calm down) for when they eventually unload Dumby for a legit center who will then play wt BB.
We get valuable cap flexibility to look at resigning Marky/Tanev, a first this year to replace our traded one and a very promising young roster player.
I don't want to trade BB, but if it came to it I'd consider this deal carefully.
LOL, this is posturing so when the team inevitably misses the playoffs he can say publicly that he tried everything and the owners will back the 're-build' which is badly needed there.
