Meh....they'd probably try to dump some loser like Cameranesi and a 2nd on us while JB would ask for a 1st (unprotected) or Nylander - they'd come back with Tanev and our 2nd for that POS Kadrina and JB hopefully would hang-up whilst laughing out loud. If the Tanev trade is absolutely necessary, would like to see him go to the East and out of the media spotlight so we never have to see how truly solid he is on a regular basis. I wonder if there would be any hope in h*$$ of getting Barzal out of NYI? Tanev + for Barzal....git'er done JB?

Sadly, this could come to fruition unless either Bear-cheese/Granlund and/or Rodin actually take big strides in their game (in Rodin's case, if he actually takes any strides at all:). Edlers game is deteriorating quickly in my observation - he should be the one to jettison while he still has any value left - get that coveted JB 2'nd rounder and pick up a gem next draft!

Rarely do I look up individual stats, as they seldom tell a complete picture - but just out of curiosity, I checked and Train is 8th overall in the entire league for D-men in the Hits/GP statistic. Just a measly 0.5 hits/game more and he'd be in 2nd place in the entire league. Great to finally have someone on the d-core who isn't afraid to use their size. For all his supposed physicality (not knocking him b/c he's been playing well, but he was/is advertised as a physical defenceman) Sbisa ranks 70'th overall at just 1.7 hits/gm average (yes, I am aware of the flaws and inconsistencies of NHL statistics but I thought it was interesting nevertheless).

Its been written about in several articles on the UND Men's hockey homepage. It explains why he's been much less effective recently. Hopefully he doesn't have to miss many more games if any. He was really lighting it up there for a while.

Said it once, will say it again - I'd be happy and feel as if we hit a home-run if he became Ohlund 2.0. Anything better than that is just icing.....

It's apparent that Train isn't the reason we've been losing and his play has been fine, not stellar, but just fine. I would really like to see Lidster help him with two things: 1. His first pass out of his zone hasn't been great. He's chucking it up the boards a lot and also just throwing the puck at his forwards with little regard to what type of pass it is and/or whether or not his outlet target is covered (or about to be covered instantly). 2. He gets twitchy when put under pressure by the forecheck and that's what everyone says about the NHL - no other league in the world has the level and intensity of constant pressure being applied in all zones in all areas of the ice - there simply is no time out there. Train is clearly not used to the forecheck pressure - Lidster needs to help him out with this and 100% of the time the answer is to always keep it simple. Take the first open/safe pass out of the zone and don't get fancy or creative. Don't get me wrong, I was expecting a disaster out there with Willy keeping him out of the line-up so long but he's really way ahead of where management was indicating imo.

Scouting reports at the draft had him as a Carl Hagelin best case scenario and bottom 6 checking forward/penalty killer as worst case. I have to admit, he's already performing better than I expected he would at Michigan. I didn't expect him to be on this scoring pace given he's never been a prolific scorer - but it's early and time will tell if he remains consistent or if this is just a hot-streak.

Yes and no. If what you can get later through an under-the-table agreement is better or more advantageous to your club in a different way - such as a team in their 'window' asking McPhee not to look at a key asset and they'll get a pick(s) swap in return of something like that.
-
I fully expect a LOT of 'shady' business at/around the expansion draft from teams telling McPhee not to pick certain guys and he'll get something else in return. Many teams are going to have to expose assets they'd rather not lose (better assets than we have to expose) and they can be protected with a 'gentleman's agreement' if you get my meaning.

Very logical, that was his number at UND.

Stecher needs a minimum of 1 year of Pro hockey in the A to adjust to both the physicality and sheer volume of games Imo. OJ needs a full year of JR at least to physically mature and possibly 1 year of AHL to properly learn the pro game. Imho of course. I'm really looking forward to seeing Stecher set himself on a mission in Utica to get back to the NHL asap.
-
Pretty sure Green would be the first choice for replacement, and for good reason. I'd much rather have a veteran CHL/AHL coach over an NCAA guy personally, not that your guys aren't good in their own rights though.
-
He'll likely see a reduction in gm's played this season imo. As for the other ongoing topic, having 3 top-end prospects is indeed a promising sign for the organization. Now we need to continue to build depth in the system and hopefully find some more gems that flew under the radar so to speak. Every successful team has at least a couple contributing guys playing above their draft position.

LOL, they just showed some Canucks sitting ringside. EE, Hutton I think, couple others.

Quite flashy, but I like'em......mask?

Alek Stojavov says whaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

Sorry Derp, I think you underestimate how important physical maturity is for an NHL defenceman trying to break into the league. Look how many 19 year old forwards play regularly in the league compared to 19 year old defenceman. Could be the most difficult position in the game to learn at the NHL level - I'd say his chances of sticking and playing any significant minutes is even less than DeNiro said, I'd give it between 0-3%. He belongs in London where he can mature physically, hone all aspects of his game, play huge minutes in every situation, continue to learn how to dominate opponents, and generally just be the undisputed #1 d-man on the team, if not that entire league. Much better imo, than sitting in the press box or playing 5 minutees/night with the Canucks.

^ Totally thought Ben was going to Rick Roll those other guys on the dock and just let them jump and laugh at'em.
-
Easy. Even Gud takes vacations. He was in Africa when he got traded. These guys are people, not robots. They literally do nothing but train 10 months/year, let'em relax a bit.

I'm not totally sold on Larsen being an impact PP QB, but I'm definitely open to being convinced.

2017 NHL Draft - Chicago, Illinois June 23-24 2017
Fanuck replied to hyper00's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
If the prospect isn't Finnish he's already a bust....I mean if he's not from the USNDT he's bust.....I mean if he's not from St. Louis he's a bust.....I mean if he's not from London Knights he's a bust...... -
I've literally never heard of that happening on CDC.
-
Well, he's played with Benn, Jagr, Krejci, Bergeron, Modano and Lindros. So I'd say he's played with some pretty high caliber guys.
-
First EG, then Juolevi, now Eriksson - pieces are falling into place and looking up.
