Apologies to the hard working exec: IR Placement: the Seattle Kraken would like to place David Gustafsson on IR...seems we jumped the gun over a week ago when we took him off early. https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/injuries therefore we regret the extra work for no reason but we ... It is great to have JT locked up for the next three years. He is certainly a player who played his way to another contract, hard work kids, it pays dividends. To say JT is a clutch scorer may be a tad overstating it, but 3 of his ten goals have been game winners, with four coming on the PP. Add in three game winning assists, and we know when it is time to step up, JT Compher takes two big strides ahead of the pack. His 5 goals, 3 assists in the playoffs last year speak to that in spades. Glad to have you J.T. Trade rumours over the past 2 months have been nothing but that, rumours. We are working to find the leak within our organization, and so far the investigation has gone all the way to the top, after several social media posts from this GM's own account openly talked about trades involving JT. When the enquiry is done we will speak to the results with our fans.

that Bennett Backlund Jarvis combo on the third line is pretty sweet too imo for a third line, justified positions on the depth chart but still pretty dang cool.

A Look at The Cap Situation Heading into the TDL
Primal Optimist replied to HKSR's topic in Canucks Talk
A big part of the Bo trade or not trade equation was the cap situation, no doubt. With Bo now departed from the books, our cap is in a really good position that only gets better next year and the year after and the year after. Plenty of room for Petey's pay day a year and a half from now and lots of room to acquire help. That being said, i feel it would be nicer to move out Myers than Brock if we are retaining, and while I like OEL and don't want to get rid of him, if there is a chance at dumping that contract that is not horribly painful, we should. -
At 20 years old, he has some time left to mature still, as most tall guys take a bit longer to fill out into their relatively new body dimensions and be comfortable in their own skin. He is 6'4" and has superb skating and good hands and as a northern euro player, a more north american physicality, which is great trait for the NHL blueline. I think he is our D prospect with the most runway for a stellar career, yeah, but I don't think he makes the jump next year to the Canucks. Maybe Abby to acclimate to North America and provide some language compatability for Aatu. I am excited to see what he brings to the club when he graduates the minors/overseas stuff, but he is holding his own among men in the LIiga right now and as a Dman, will be even better on our ice vs euro ice.

OH i know, i was speaking to the masses who might try to make implications out of it. I am incredibly excited about Aatu coming to Vancouver. He is still in development, but I feel his ceiling is as high as Petey's, but his timeline may be longer and together, just wow. I was a Huge Fan of Aatu Raty already, for some years now, and stoked I will get to see him at Canucks games in our sweater. For me, this is as exciting as getting Pavel back in the day.

Just for clarity, he isn't a spoiled millionaire yet, lol. Sauna is the national past time of Finland, like Baseball is to america. Being at a Spa likely means he was in the sauna without his phone while his wife was getting her nails done. In case anyone was wondering if he is softer than three ply.

I am not sold on selling Demko. We have him under contract until he is age thirty and a half, lol, in Summer 2026. Five million isn't a bad price for a decent tendie. If our blueline was worth its price on defense we would think we had a steal of a deal for Demko. We do. Add a defender to the top four D and Demko will be worth his price for the next three seasons and beyond. Edit: not to mention our cap crunch was made incredibly better looking starting this summer simply by moving the guy who wanted more than we could pay for a first and AATU RATY!!!! along with Anthony Beauvillier, no slough in his own right, at give or take 40 points a year for the foreseeable future. Our next "tough" signing is Petey in summer 2024 once we re-up Bear at a very reasonable rate for the next three years.

Some of you may know, but I feel like sharing today. Since I left the Rangers, I have addressed some mental health challenges and gotten a LOT of help and support from Veterans Affairs Canada. I had been talking to them since 2018, but the last 18 months things really stepped up and moved along a lot. I am now looked after for life, and "if" i make it to age 85, i will see 4.3 million, presuming an average of 2% cost of living increases between now and then, but i am indexed to inflation which is a real good thing. THe more important thing is the mental health supports: i get unlimited psychological visits for life, and millage to and from them and currently 90 grams of medical grade marijuana a month for as long as my medical team think they will help me with the the nightmares and pain levels. Win win win. Overall, a part of that urge to reach out and get more better help came on the heals of leaving GML. I can't let myself get bogged down with the all the regrets of relationships past, but I am closer to saving my marriage than anytime since 2016, upgraded to an acre of land in my family's two generations of "hometown" area, and I have no real obligations to deal with. Post Concussion issues, PTSD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Major Depression Disorder are a lot to deal with day to day, but I feel I am on the upside again, and wanted to share all this firstly to thank you guys for having me back in the league, but also for anyone out there suffering: this is the worst time of year for depression and I wanted to share this link in a more permanent setting than Discord. Give it a watch, if you don't suffer depression, the odds are someone you know does. The love you take is equal to the love you make. Pass it on. the best part for me is that looking back around 2017/18 I experienced suicidal ideation pretty much on a weekly basis. Happy to report this past year, less than 6 total. it does get better and everyone needs to know that it can and will get better, but it takes time and effort and help. It is the Bell Let's Talk time of year, and I hope this may help someone near to you, or maybe you, whoever is reading this. Reach out to family, friends, the nursing line or your health team. Mental Health is mens health. We all need a checkup now and again and there is no shame in it. Pass it on.

I was never sold on Linden, (what if a healthy player took his spot in the final game?), famously posted about it in Canucks talk and was beaten down for it. I was also never sold on Bo being "The Captain", just didn't feel like the right call for the long haul and here we come to see he wasn't. That being said, I am over the top elated that we got Aatu Raty for Bo, along with a First and Beauvillier, a decent enough player in his own right who will likely open up some more points now that he is with the Canucks style of play. I am stoked for the trade, stoked for the cap situation not only next year but the year we have to sign Petey...its all lined up now, smooth enough, the wake is behind us now and won't swamp our boat.
-
Aatu!!! a First!!!! and a filler with good upside in Anthony Beauvillier, a first round pick himself who played in the WJC for Canada as well as the WORLD Championship. Beauvillier may have a resurgence under the Canucks style of play and bump up over 40 points a year for a long while yet, as he is only 25. If he is stuck forever between 30 and 40 points a year, that is nothing to sniff at. he has more points than 10 currently listed Canucks team mates.

I am high on the trade, but you made good sense to me. What exactly could each of these armchair GM's have gotten for a guy who is under contract for another 12- days? Maybe Bo walks away from The Islanders and we fleeced them, maybe Bo takes way too much cap space there relative to his value and stymies their cap for 8 years...way too early to declare the trade one way or the other: but we sold a guy who was never gonna sign here in a few months time and turned him into an A pick and A prospect and Anthony Beauvillier. I Dont see this return as anywhere near a losing trade, and time will tell how balanced and/or how much upside we got out of the deal.
