  1. When this blows over, hope to see you back! I am not happy about it, but I haven't been happy with the Canucks since 1979 when i became a fan, with the notable exceptions of 82, 94, 2011 and generally okay with them since Y2k and the Naslund era. Pre nassy this team was worse than it is today...and frankly fluked into two finals. is what it is, i am excited to see what rises from the ashes. In a way I agree with ALvin and the Chipmunks: teams fire coaches, it happens. The team had a hard time clamping down on the leaks and rumours is the issue...and you can't let rumours run your club, so while incredibly unfortunate: i get it about the long goodbye, i guess they could have fired him two games earler and then fans wouldn't have had a chance to say goodbye, i liked the final two games BRUCE THERE IT IS, the fans at least had class.

  4. Thank you to Theo5789, and C2X for processing. A smaller deal for my 2nd, but one that fills needs on blueline depth for the future while limiting risk on this young Russian player during these trying worldly times. All the best in future, Viktor Neuchev.
  5. he did put up two though, which is amazing. Sorry if I sounded or sound now like a jerk, i didn't see it, but the way you say it now, so sorry bro.
  6. Off the top of my head, wasn't Kiviharju a 16 year old? phenom or not, he isn't gonna bust it open against 19 year olds.

  10. Good tourney, damn that north vancouver kid has some hutzpah!
  11. As our prospects make their way back to their respective affiliate clubs of the Seattle Kraken and junior organizations, I would like to highlight their WJC accomplishmennts! HEIMOSALMI Aleksi Position: Defender Shoots: Right Height (cm): 1.81 Height (ft in): 5'11'' Weight (kg): 82 Weight (lbs): 181 Date of Birth: 8 MAY 2003 Club: Assat Pori GP G A PTS PIM SOG +/- GWG PPG SHG 5 0 2 2 6 -2 0 0 0 SYKORA Adam Position: Forward Shoots: Left Height (cm): 1.80 Height (ft in): 5'11'' Weight (kg): 78 Weight (lbs): 172 Date of Birth: 7 SEP 2004 Club: HK Nitra GP G A PTS PIM SOG +/- GWG PPG SHG 5 1 0 1 0 -1 0 0 0 LAMBERT Brad Position: Forward Shoots: Right Height (cm): 1.85 Height (ft in): 6'1'' Weight (kg): 83 Weight (lbs): 183 Date of Birth: 19 DEC 2003 Club: Winnipeg Jets GP G A PTS PIM SOG +/- GWG PPG SHG 5 1 0 1 4 0 0 0 0 RONNI Topi Position: Forward Shoots: Left Height (cm): 1.88 Height (ft in): 6'2'' Weight (kg): 82 Weight (lbs): 181 Date of Birth: 5 MAY 2004 Club: Tappara Tampere GP G A PTS PIM SOG +/- GWG PPG SHG 5 0 0 0 4 -1 0 0 0 Congrats on the opportunity to represent your countries, and while the point totals aren't jumping off the page, these fine young kids embraced the roles they were given by their clubs and most notably Topi Ronni stuck true to his assignment and defended Finn ice very nicely despite having 7 points in his six other International Junior games this season. Brad Lambert is in his first AHL season and in fact his first North American season since his U15 year with the Saskatoon Generals in Saskatchewan. No slouch on Offense, Adam Sykora has 9 points in 20 games on loan to the Slovakian men's league's HK Nitra. Similarily, Aleksi Heimosalmi has 12 points in 25 games with hte Finn men's league's "Assat" team. This solid collection of First and Second round draft picks will eventually make their way to Seattle and take their place in the history of our Franchise, of that we have no doubt.
  12. my feeling is he was overcoached, but who knows really...just feels like he is stuck inside his own head now. Still oozing skills but maybe second guessing himself too much.
  13. Not gonna lie, i did. hahaha. 2nd goal in 5 games in his rookie call up!
  14. I am looking forward to maybe seeing Raty in the game tonight Also looking forward to a VAN dubya!
  15. Thanks, that moves me closer to catching up to Bedards points. I mean...the winners points...i mean Jazz. lol
  16. Looks like I am gonna be the last guy in the tournament anyways, but @AriGold you have not acknowledged that Adam Engstrom replaced Seamus Casey on my team at the start of the tournament since the USA cut Casey moments before puck drop. it doesnt really matter but I think I have 13 points with Engstrom's and the second Finn win for my tendies in the round robin.
  17. Mine shows 751k, 1k less than i paid. ; ) The beauty of it all is when the 5 year term is up I will owe 39k. Heres to 2023!
  18. I am on the fence for it as a policy wonk. on the one hand, any active NHL player being signed to a fantasy teams minors seems ludicris: but on the other, its almost January (1 hour 1 minute to go) and no other team made the player an offer. While I think the rule itself is fine: perhaps a subcatagorical process that any unsigned NHL'er after say Halloween(?guessing/spittballing?) would require the agent acting on the players behalf to post "Mr Bubblendening is entertaining at least one contract offer and would strongly consider better term/dollars if GM's are interested in his services, of interest is a full time roster spot, vs spending time in the minors". Would solve the whole issue, imo. Not there really is one, but would stop guys with all the time in the world from hoarding so much. Shrug. I don't personally care, but I have an opinion for every circumstance, as most of you know already, LOL HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
  19. Go Canada GO! And just like that Finland plays Sweden in the first round Knockout game.
  20. OH i think they wanted overtime, but to win. mixed bag and hard to explain without paragraphs explaining Finland's motivation internationallly. Long story short: playing sweden and knocking them out of medal contention is more important to the people of Finland than even a gold medal for Finland is. No one sets out to lose, but gm's and coaches can set out to gerrymander the resulting points if they think it could lead to a preferential first round matchup against say Sweden. B2 vs A3 or B3 vs A2, was my line of thinking. Edit: if the USA win, and Slovakia wins and Canada wins tomorrow: this exact set up happens to be true. Finland V Sweden in round one of the knockout stages.
  21. Details in the spoiler but as of end of games today I have 13 points.
  22. Fresh off our first Trade, the Kraken present our Three Stars of the Month short list: Looks like anything nearing 2 points a day in the GML is a decent production month and so I will cap my short list at those who have managed 40 points in December thus far with the Final Three Stars announced January 1st. This still captures 6 of our skaters, a perfect number for the ... Three Kraken Stars of December Short List In reverse order, starting with an Honourable Mention for Matt Grzelcyk weighing in just under the bar 39 points, a goal and 3 assists from teh blueline Vladislov Gavrikov, another steller Dman in Seattle nailed it with a 40 on the strength of 3 assists including a Game WInner, Overtime Assist and a Shorty. JT Compher with 48 points playing Center for a depleted Colorado. 4goals 7assists, wow, no penalty minutes to push the points up, like the two above. Jacob Markstrom with an even 50 points on three wins, two shoot out losses and an Assist! 52 points from Kevin Fiala who dazzled us with 3 goals, 6 assists and some decent points from 12 penalty minutes Gustav Forsling is already our darling Dman of December with 3 goals, 3 assists (a game winning goal and g.w.assist included) and some heavy plusminus/plm's: 59 points! Finally the continuous runaway success story of Evgeni Malkin: with a team leading 67 points and only two of those are penalty minutes. wow! With three days left to rack em up, the final 3 Stars is anyones guess, but Forsling and Malkin are almost a lock! Good luck to our players and good health. January is going to be fireworks!
  23. IR Placement: The Seattle Kraken would like to place Ryan Murray on IR see Edmonton in the link https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/injuries Recall: The Seattle Kraken recall Juuso Parssinen from the minor league affiliate Lake Cowichan Kraken Assignment: The Seattle Kraken assign Radim Zohorna to the Lake Cowichan Kraken (waivers not required) Recall: The Seattle Kraken recall Logan Brown from the minor league affiliate Lake Cowichan Kraken
  24. Thank you to C2X for ticking the boxes and processing this trade, I greatly appreciate the time taken over the holidays to get er done. Juuso Paarsinen's first 18 games in the NHL have shown us 3 goals and 4 assists and showcased his top nine ability right out of the gate, the strong two way forward, at 6'3" has certainly made the most of his call up time in the NHL's Nashville Predators room and highlighted everything we like about him and what made him a special target of acquisition for the Kraken. Juuso can and will step in and help right away. Aleksi Heimosalmi managed half a point per game against men in the Liiga so far this year and is once again a feature on Team Finland's WJC team as I type this. His NHL future stock continues to rise for this 44th overall pick in 2021. he is just the right Dman for us in the future and a worthy 'replacement' for Minty in our prospect pool. That Aleksi is not russian is a bonus at this point in time, and being a FInn, well that is just icing on the cake. Topi Ronni, the third of four Finns we got back in this deal is no slouch either. Routinely putting up point per game numbers in his peer group and still only 18 years of age, the 59th overall pick in last summer's draft is another of the Finn's WJC squad members right now playing in Halifax and Moncton in the annual tournament. This is his second year in the Finnish Mens top league where he continues to earn minutes, but he is thriving in U20 play scoring more than a ppg this year already. The Fourth of the Finn's coming back to us has the longest road to the NHL. Santeri Hatakka is the least likely of these four young folks to see the NHL, but the truth of it is, he already has his first 9 games under his belt from last season scoring 2 assists for the San Jose Sharks. He also put up 12 points in the AHL with the Sharks affiliate in his first North American season, and is with the AHL Barracuda again this year, albeit mostly injured to date. We consider him a long shot, but with early success, on ice awareness and his history of accolades at the defensive position (best Dman at the 4 nations Tourny 2019, two back to back WJC appearances and his feature footwork on the ice, we think he is one to watch. Always happy to snag a couple draft picks, and thirds aren't bad, I wish we had managed to get one 2nd, a concession made to pick up another player asset instead. None the less, 2 x third round picks in a deep draft are nothing to be scoffed at. Finally, the non-finn trio of Shane Bowers, John Beecher and Jordan Gustaffson; Shane Bowers, smart fast and dangerous from anywhere at 6'2" has already had his first NHL game this year and is performing well at the AHL level putting up 9 points in 14 games thus far. John Beecher transitioned to the AHL in early 2022 from the NCAA, but the first round pick in 2019 is getting his feet under him well enough. was a half point per game over 9 games in the A last year, with a point in two playoff appearances and this year has 7 in 23. at 6'3" we expect he will need a few more years of seasoning before he is just right for the NHL in a supporting attributes role. And Jordan Gustafson may be the best of these final three dudes, a 79th overall pick this summer, Jordan is still with the WHL's Seattle Thunderbirds where he is on the verge of a point per game. In fact in his draft year he was one of the highest producing draft eligible scorers in the Dub, with strong skating, puckskills and IQ. One day he will be a top nine winger scoring fantasy points for the Kraken, the question is, what year will he step over the boards for us? Will an of these players be as highly touted as the sole loss to our club in this deal, Pavel Mintyukov? NO. Honestly not so. But then, none of these players compare well to another Russian, Nail Yakupov in his draft year either. We wish Pav all the best with his new club but we are taking a pass on him, despite his oozing skills and talent all over the ice, I feel we got back more than we gave up and so, in the end I decided not to come away with the best player in the trade. Thanks to Rush17 for good back and forth discussions and a lively pace and thank you to C2X for taking time out of his holidays to process it for me in order to get Juuso in my lineup faster than otherwise. Happy holidays to everyone reading this, note that I managed to put off my first trade for quite some time, but with this exact return, the finns in particular, I feel it was worth taking the chance early, with one unsigned draft pick.
