Intense out West, Florida continues eastern Domination. Conference Finals! 20 vs 24 57 vs 17
-
As much as Florida is tied to the fate of Chicago, L.A is tied to the eastern conference finals with all three of the Kings players appearing only in the Montreal - New York series. the 4 players with our Minnesota Wild are spread to 3 teams still playing in the NHL's playoffs while the Devils hold Kopitar out west and two Hawks. I suspect the rest of the playoff points will be like watching a slinky move along...one team will move, then the next and the next and the next as our series progresses down. Still fun to watch, mostly in anticipation of a big night for anyone, which would change the context of the Finals dramatically! Conference Finals! 20 vs 7 48 vs 9

Watched the first period of Guelph vs Val D'Or...WOW. Nick Ebert is outstanding on the transition and plays both ends very well for his age. One assist and plus 2 after one. That is how you play Dee boys and girls. Stick on the ice, feet moving, always involved.

Over at the Memorial Cup, Nick Ebert looks to add to his hot start tonight at 4pm Pacific time as his Guelph Storm take on the Q Champs, Val'D'Or. Nick was one of the six players to start to the first game for Guelph, an honour he quickly proved worthy of, scoring two assists and staying plus 2 with no penalty minutes against the Edmonton Oil Kings (while earning second game star honours) We are proud of Nick and can't wait to see how the Storm do in their second of 3 round robin games. EDIT: hahaha...ironically, two former NYR's picks are also taking starring roles at the Memorial Cup, but sometimes hard decisions need to be made. We moved from 7th worst to 7th best partly due to those tough decisions. I would do it again ; )

Wow, Florida has one advantage now, and it is a good one: the Hawks. 7 of the nine remaining players in the Florida camp are Hawks, should our Florida make the finals and not the NHL Hawks, it is going to be a wild wild finish. There is also a chance that Mike's Devils shut down those same players this round, it will be interesting to watch this play out!

And with these final numbers the GML advances to the Frozen Four! M.V.'s New Jersey Devils were tough, disciplined, classy and professional to the end, and they managed to outwork my Rangers most nights. My takeaway (feelgood moment) is that the Rangers scored the most points of the four teams that just got knocked out, and came within 20 points of the Kings! For me, that is a great season, my best in fantasy sports history. Looking forward to building on it. Grats to L.A., Minny, Flo Rida and the Devils! Prospects Report: As the Memorial Cup Tournament Looms, The Rangers find themselves very proud of their Prospects! Congrats to all three Memorial Cup teams: London Knights - Guelph Storm - Edmonton Oil Kings Nick Ebert is the Front and Center D-Man in the Rangers Prospect Pool, and he will be attending the Memorial Cup as his Guelph Storm attempt to come away with the Hardware! Nick played 65 regular season games scoring 13 goals and 40 assists with a whopping +53plusminus. 0.82 points per game from the blueline makes Nick our King of the Rink. But wait, that is not all! In 20 playoff games en route to the Memorial Cup Nick Ebert put up another 5 goals and 11 assists and is +13plusminus with just 8 penalty minutes. Constant refinement of his role has led Nick to lead the Storms blueline on the attack, which is just what we look for here at Madison Square Garden. Congrats Nick. Also of noteworthy praise is Gabryel Paquin-Boudreau of the Baie-Comeau Drakkar, who fell one win short of their own Memorial Cup entry when they lost the QMJHL finals in game 7 on Tuesday. Gabby put up 35 points in the season and was plus 8 while adding 7 more points and going +3 in the playoffs. Zach Stepan attended Minnesota State University this season racking up 9goals, 12 assists and 39 plm's in 35 games while his Mavericks team coasted to the 2014 WCHA Final Five Championship!! Grats Zach Mikko Vainonen had a great year with my second favorite OHL team, the Kingston Frontenacs, playing in the OHL playoffs and appearing at the World Junior Hockey Championships with team Finland. 18 points, 73 penalty minutes and plus7 in the season, Mikko took his game to new heights scoring 1 goal and 3 assists in the 7 playoff games the Frontenacs played. With two North American seasons under his belt now, and a call up to the AHL's Milwaulkie Admirals, Mikko is well on his way to the GML, and is proving to be a pressure performer. Joonas Korpisalo spent the year in Finland, playing for six different teams and doing spot duty on Finlands Under20 international team. in 8 games with Ilves of the Finnish Liiga Joonas posted 1.42gss and a .957 save%age. We are hoping he takes a North American tour in the next couple years to round out his skills before coming of age for the GML. We would like to thank all our unsigned prospects for representing the Rangers so well in their endeavours, and we look forward to seeing them in camp this coming fall!

One Game left on Friday! I believe we know who is going on to the 3rd round! Grats to all the series winners, it was an honour to compete in round 2. One Small Step for the Rangers, one giant leap for P.O.'s overall fantasy hockey skills. (*even in losing I have picked up on a valuable lesson) Thanks to the Turnpike Rivals, New Jersey Devils on a 'hell' of a series! Gotham Prison for the criminally insane can't hold me forever, I will get you Next Year Bat-man, err I mean Mike Vanderhoek. What could be the last night of round 2 tonight, unless the NHL's LA Kings win and force a game 7! Our game aside I am cheering hard for Montreal to go thru and meet AV's Rangers in da turd. Also, I am cheering for Moen, Vanek, Bourque, Emelin, Meszaros and Iginla to be involved in a line brawl, get 2 mins, 5 mins and ten mins each for absurdity and net me 102 goonery points to get back in the competition! Hehee, I am gonna say James Franco for T.M. You remember the movie The Dude? K, well I am not the dude, BUT I think John Goodman, from his days acting in The Dude would just about cover me off perfectly.

totally right? hahe, although I like theBeegees...that Andy is so dreamy...

Great tune for the moment! At this stage, all I really want is to be 'competitive amongst my peers', so if I am going out in the second round, I want to not be the worst of the four going out. I have to hand it to my second round nemesis from down the freeway.....I am sorry I called your guys Bridge and Tunnel Trolls. Clearly the Devils are a force to be reckoned with, and may be, just may be the Force that will come out West in the Finals!
