Wow, but yeah that makes sense, the incentive to make the playoffs part. I was guessing, so very open to being wrong.

in 2011 it was announced June 23rd, in 2012 it was June 28th...and I believe it would include playoff revenues, as they would be defined as part of gross hockey related revenue. ...i do think the lower canadian dollar may have a small affect, but not much, I bet it is 70.8 or something, close to 71...unless the travelling circus' revenue is insane from the stadium games.....might push it higher than 72? edit: 4billion with a b comes out to 66.666 cap 4.3billion, that is with 300 extra million would come out at 72m cap, I am cheering for that extra 300million in revenues!

Storylines are everywhere, but off the top of my head, lets try some Ron Mclean'isms. Jets begin search for Black Box! Florida is proving why they are the Big Cat in the Jungle. Ottawa is SENS-ational. Underrating opponents is a Capital Offense in New York. 202-vs-129 101-vs-130 129-vs-109 84-vs-122 303-vs-182 208-vs-147 176-vs-159 130-vs-110

The Rangers are stoked to announce the contract extension for Thomas Vanek, the 5th overall draft pick of 2003. I don't believe we will need to go into details as to the numbers on the contract, but allow me to detail the numbers on the back of his New York Rangers Hockey Card. Mr. Vanek's worst season in the league was his first season in the league. 139th overall in league points in 2005-06 19th overall in league points in 2006-07 52nd overall in league points in 2007-08 51st overall in league points in 2008-09 80th overall in league points in 2009-10 17th overall in league points in 2010-11 54th overall in league points in 2011-12 29th overall in league points in 2012-13 26th overall in league points in 2013-14 It is safe to say we know exactly what we are getting with Thomas Vanek, and we like what we get a whole bunch. It is simply perfect to have him sign on for a long great ride with us. Couldn't be happier, and we believe he is very much worth the investment. There are very few players in the league who can year in and year out put up these kinds of numbers..here at Madison Square Garden we call those kinds of players our "First Line". Thank you, no questions.

Wait a tick, I thought we could qualify our RFA's and even if they don't sign they are then qualified and we can match or get picks in place of the player when an offer sheet is signed?

hopefully I fixed it...Florida is a beast! Well Done there Otts!

Tonight, a crucial night in the playoff hopes for New York and Washington as a mere 18 points are all that divide them. Joe Thornton, Jake Muzzin, Jarome Iginla and Andre Meszaros will do battle with Pavol Datsyuk, Kyle Quincey, Jan Hejda, Justin Florek and Justin Fontaine. Will the rangers keep the charging Capitals at bay? The worst part is you will all know mostly how it goes before me, I get home from work at 7, and need to keep about a 20 point lead in case of Kari headstands. EDIT: Add to my players Carson McMillan, who was called up Tuesday and somehow I missed it. Good to see some young guys coming up and maybe get a chance to chip in.

Well, I am gonna slog off to watch the rest of the St Louis/Chicago game..but is it weird that I want to face Lethunder and defeat him in the 2nd round, more so than I want to face and defeat New Jersey? I really want to knock out the Sabres. I guess first things first: take care of the Caps. Rue the day....lehtonen...RUE!!!!

it would seem that Washington moved up 11 points so far tonight. This helpless feeling sucks...omg is this playoff hockey as a GM?
-
and insult to injury: washington has Erixon's rights....sigh.
-
....meanwhile in CDCGML Playoffland: Kari Lehtonen has an assist and almost another win under belt...further filling the gap between Me and Da.Moose by another 20 points....concern is setting in in Madison Square Garden.
-
Erixon is under rated. o.O you heard it here first. Sorry if you own his rights...PM me..i would like to talk. Edit: this from a Swedish Scout:

FINALLY a Celebrity Endorsement...skip to 15:10 lol

Your going to get a lot of questions, but my main wonder is how is Gabryel Boudreau looking? I wonder if he cracked the top 50? Baie-Comeau is trailing after 2 periods but leads the series they are in..and if they win the series they move on to the QMJHL finals...Gabryel Paquin-Boudreau is one of their leading offensive guys...or was at one point.
-
It is pretty cool, even thought it 'could' cost me the series...I have 4 habs now resting and healing up for a round two I may not get into. haha....da.moose, if your reading this: Kari Lehtonen's shutout has me really thinking this is not over!

^ 5 Things on the 'half way point' of round one: - Three series out west are sitting at less than 20 points difference! whoa, anybody's game in the wild wild west. - the last wildcard slot in each conference, Edmonton and Carolina, are each proving to be very good playoff teams, both in the top half of the playoff points race. -powerhouses Florida, Ottawa and Los Angeles have carried over their regular season success and ought to hit 200 points each soon, if not tonight. - As NHL series end, not only are the losing teams eliminated, but the winning teams players go on hiatus until round 2. Expect some leader changes in our series due to the loss of high end talent, albeit just until the next round. - I love an Underdog: at least two 'underdog' teams are currently in control of their matchups..with 2 more extrremely close in the points...that makes half our matchups 'next goal wins'..which is very cool to watch. I am a ThatMike fan in the Pho/SJS series, and so far, while it is close, the Sharks are out in front!!! (Sorry Squeak, I dig the Sharks, haha)

Uh oh. 7 points from my Canadiens contingent, and a bitter sweet night as they sweep the Bolts...and six of my playoff guys disappear until four of them return in the 2nd round..will i be there too? It is a little uncomfortable in the head office tonight.

Another high profile Rangers player is rumoured to have inked an extension this week, following the announcement of Alexei Emelin's four year deal. Rangers GM, P.O. was quiet following the trade deadline, but seems to have players eager to renew, following this early first round playoff success. All was not quite perfect last night for the Rangers, who seemed to have the Washington Capitals on the ropes until a shutout performance last night by Caps netminder Kari Lehtonen. The 20 point night for the star goalie has firmly put Washington back on the map in first round action. New York now leads the series by 24 points, 95 to 71. Joe Thornton was front and center at the latest presser defending his team's performance after last night's 5 point effort, and pointed to the thin lineup, stating that tonight with the full top line on the ice, along with stallwarts like Bourque, Muzzin, Meszaros and recently re-signed Alexei Emelin, the team should be back on track, working its way to its first ever 2nd round appearance under GM Primal Optimist. ((Hell, even if the Caps bounce back and win, I am stoked at my first ever playoff appearance as a GM. Hopefully we make it to the next round, it is certainly a thrill, as far as Fantasy Hockey goes. Doesn't replace the Canucks in the NHL Playoffs though, haha))

Washington with a surprise 22 points tonight..making it interesting indeed!

Good good, Sceviour is on the board with 5 league points, now if Winnik can play a part in ruining Lehtonen's shutout, I would be happy!

[Official] CDC 2014 Mock Entry Draft [Full]
Primal Optimist replied to HowYaDrouin's topic in Fantasy Hockey
You can take over my team..i am not really into this at all. I subbed in to mock draft and there are trades taking place? I don't get it, and don't have that much time to put in. Thought it was a mock draft...pick and go....sorry. Oh, i had to go look at the first page: it is the Montreal Canadiens and there is about ten picks/trades to go until your up. Good Luck. -
128-vs-94 55-vs-76 63-vs-70 65-vs-52 106-vs-106 159-vs-99 78-vs-73 90-vs-49 With so many close contests, C2X, would you explain the tie breaking procedure? I thought it was the team with the higher regular season record gets home ice advantage, which is the win in a tie situation after each round is played out? Not sure if that is a rule or if it was something we talked about last year....please clarify for me?
