Sporting a new look bottom six and relieved that Thomas Vanek made his way to the playoffs, (knock on wood) AND happy that the deadline was not this morning at noon. NYR's are in the hisouse. PM works best for me, but I am not sure I have any assets to move left. haha.

One last hurrah tomorrow morning around 7am, will look at offers I miss from now until the end of the night. Good Night folks.

I am still open to a bigger deal, but this years picks are not an option at the moment. Rumours however put a first round 2015 pick and matt stajan on the block, at press time though, I am not confirming or denying (* damn its tough to be the press and the GM of a team....lol )

NY has bolstered its bottom six considerably, with a deal yet to be announced from the other day and an 8 asset deal just reached. The Rangers sent a pick and three players one way and received 4 back. Until the league confirms the deal, all I can really comment on is that we are moving from an 8 D and 13 Forward configuration to a 7 and 14 for the playoffs.

I am open for business, but I hate to say it, due to technical dificulties any deals or offers will have to be done through CDC Private message... sorry but i didn't load trillian into my new computer back in december.

Our dear Australian friend has asked for opinions about Luongo's newest walkabout. For me, I think it had to happen. MG was right not to sell him for nothing, and that is why it took so long. I suspect things we won't know until 20 years later are that Lu likely said no to a few different destinations over the last while..and perhaps the penalty for saying no was missing the classic? just suggesting it is possible. So in the end, the end we all knew was coming eventually occured, and so I am not shocked, and I think it was if anything overdue. There was no way Lu was a Canuck for the rest of that long contract. Do I blame GM MG? NO. The rules changed AFTER he signed Lu to the contract, and that is not very cool on the part of the league, but it is what it is, and after the rules changed, the Canucks GM negotiated his way into a standing rebuild without announcing it and foreshadowing it to the fans and media, got great value for Schneids and in light of the lu contract POST changes to the rules...fair value for LU and his contract. So in the end I am sad to see Lu go, but I am not angry at anyone about it. Depending on how tomorrow goes, we might see the only team rebuilt without missing a postseason. That would be OMG AMAZING.

The Rangers are rumoured to be looking for one last pickup heading into deadline-eve, and it is believed Matt Stajan and picks are on the table. Primal Optimist could not be reached for comment, but his secretary declared he would be in the office from 7:30 tonight until late to 'get er done' if there is a deal to be made. The subtext is "send me offers, I will get back to you after 7 tonight.

Waivers: The New York Rangers waive Philip Larsen to assign the minor league player to the Connecticut Whale.

lucky dude. We are making it work in New York with decent additions, but its been a little while since i could say 'long coveted'. Actually the trade coming up was in fact long coveted, but in a 4th line role. haha...does that count?

Is Luongo sitting out again because he's in play?
Primal Optimist replied to VegasCanuck's topic in Canucks Talk
In other news: Canucks look to win three in a row by starting the hot goalie yet again. Fans ready to burn cars and loot storeshops. Luongo is feeling well rested for when it is his turn in the paint. Film at 11 -

Just my two cents: but if Lack gets the start, could it not be to protect Lu from a three ring circus of a game that has historically had more than its share of injuries with bad ice. Could it not be to showcase Lack for an upcoming trade that would keep Lu at number one..and could it not be to help LU overcome a bug he may have picked up in SOchi. There is so much going on in the room that we don't know, and yet as fans we jump the speculation gun very guickly and try to level blame to any situation we don't fully understand. I am guilty of it too, but there MUST be reasons why Lu wouldn't start, and it may not simply be 'cuz the canucks want to piss him off".

come on by a bit more often and you just may get a team in the offseason, haha.

With another trade filed with the league, Rangers GM Primal Optimist slumps back in his chair, not to rest, but to enjoy the brief moment of adding another piece to the Rorshack mask of a puzzle that is a CDCGML hockey team. Ever shifting, subtle patterns, not quite coming into focus before fading out to another picture, and each one piece short of perfect. With Tim Kennedy waived 24 hours ago and sent down to the Connecticut Whale (assuming he cleared), presumably the new arrival will be filing those 4th line minutes, but most often the smaller the piece, the more important it is to the total picture.a "When you are talking about 23 professional athletes, and hockey players specifically, there are no small parts. There are specialists, who adapt their game to situations. Limited minutes, defensive responsibilities, assignments, and perhaps even Power Play time to augment the time on ice. For these utility players to function as well as they do, with sometimes 4 minutes a game to make the difference, is nothing short of amazing. Again we are all going to have to wait to see, as the league is still dotting the i's and crossing the T's."

Get Well, Catch you soon!

The Rangers will ice 20 men tonight in the hopes of catching the Jets, currently 21 points above. WInnipeg will have 16 pairs of skates on the ice...but that doesn't seem to matter terribly, as Jersey managed to wring 30+ points out of just 3 players last night. These final days of the trade window will be all important for the Rangers, and it isn't just about who we bring in, if anyone...its about not upsetting the chemistry. Sometimes changing nothing is an improvement.

Very nice to get a 20 point night from my backup on the first game back from a break. Well done Eddie Lack.

I am glad I read up today...: Agents...start your engines...I will have my people call your people, we will do lunch. (how the hell did i end up with so many UFA's this coming offseason? )

Well the cat is out of the bag! Welcome to MSG and the NYR's Rene Bourque! Rene, as alluded to above, has potential higher than but a baseline of 2.3 pts a game and with 23 games left it will be interesting to see if the potential unlocks like it did in past years and provides us with a 100 point push into the playoffs. The price was steep, but we believe Mr. Bourque is well worth it and our fans will love the detail he brings to the 3rd line. Thank you Da.Moose for a decent trade inside the division, a rare enough feat as it is, but a smooth trade at the same time is almost unheard of. And for the armchair quarterbacks out there: we are aware we paid a premium for this player, and we feel he is worth that premium. Rene Bourque will slot into the 3rd line RW spot and Steve Bernier will play RW on the fourth line.

General Manager of the New York Rangers, Primal Optimist speaking this evening about the latest addition to the Rangers club:
