  1. Hutton was mean.....one time anyway......imagine if he played more shifts like this.
  2. Dhaliwal also tweeted that Eagle was hitting UFA, so.
  3. Like Fanuck mentioned, we maybe don't want to be reminded of the obvious, but we're CDC'ers and never above more punishment, right? One thing I found interesting is that the article somewhat suggests that when JB hits a pick they hit big-time and when they miss they miss pretty good (risk/reward, I know). Also suggested is that JB hasn't done well with drafting the 'supporting' guys to complement the EP/Huges/BB players which is something I sort of agree with and is backed up by JB seeking out guys like Pearson, Miller, Vanek, Gags, Beagle, Roussel, even Bear to some degree. One thing is clear is that Gillis left virtually nothing to work with and it's taken JB a lot of time/experience to rebuild. Things are looking way better moving forward imo though.
  4. Green said himself at the draft that he would like to see Demko get 25-30 games this season. I'm not a goalie expert but that should be a reasonable sample size to at least know if it's feasible to consider dealing Marky. It should also allow the team to showcase Marky some more around the league if their intention is to deal him at TDL perhaps. If JB's intentions are to make the playoffs this year however, I can't help but think they look at trading Demko instead because undoubtedly Marky is the better goalie right now (based on body of work) if you're trying to make the playoffs.
  5. I can see why JB would be interested in Nemo. Stay at home guy with size who hits and blocks shots. Plus he's been reasonably durable the past two seasons. Hopefully he's not looking for much more than his last contract though. https://milehighsticking.com/2019/05/25/colorado-avalanche-face-patrik-nemeth-dilemma/
  6. I get where you're coming from, but in fairness, it's equally laughable that this fan-base praises JB's amateur scouting and drafting yet completely dismisses the conditional pick as having relatively little to no value because Miller > late pick. If JB's such a drafting guru he has better odds than most to get that late gem. And no you don't need to remind me of the odds of guys panning out...... I'm on the fence about the Miller acquisition overall but acknowledge it most likely helps us right now as long as Miller doesn't pull a LE2.0 on us.
  7. If I read these stats correctly Miller played the vast majority of the season with Stamkos. Their other winger was often Kucherov. This is NOT a middle/bottom 6 line like I've heard many people say here. People are trying to make it sound like he was getting sloppy seconds for ice time and when he gets here he'll benefit from better ice time and linemates - he wasn't. He had prime minutes and elite linemates. Not saying he's terrible or bad trade, just seems like it's a false narrative being promoted here that he's going to bust out with more opportunities or whatever here. https://frozenpool.dobbersports.com/players/j.t.-miller
  8. I get your point. But you're fooling yourself if you don't think Hughes wouldn't have put up numbers in the dub - even on the ICE.
  9. Is this going to become like basketball where coaches just keep calling challenges (time outs in nba) in last minute so the last 60 seconds of clock time takes 35min in real time?
  10. Dude, literally EXACTLY what you described.....you know something we don't....?
  11. You realize you're questioning the kid who most CDC'ers already have winning the Calder and next 10 Norris trophies? These people don't care if other teams small guys disappeared in the playoffs - QH won't and they will have nothing to do with anyone who says otherwise.
  12. Dude, if you don't put this in the proposals forum I might have to do it myself . People need to see what a real hockey trade proposal looks like outside of their Playstation.
  13. Wut......I've never heard of this happening in this market lol....
  14. CDC trade rule #1: it doesn't matter if a trade works for the other team, as long as it works for the Canucks. Apply this rule to 99% of this forum and you'll save yourself a lot of frustration.
  15. Dude, you sound like a broken record. But a broken record playing the best song ever lol.
  16. This is a glimpse of what some of our youth are capable of and what our society has enabled sadly. Part of me was shocked, frightened, and enraged after watching the clip but the other part of me felt completely desensitized because this is the way society has been headed for a long time imo....Burgess/Kubrick Clockwork Orange in reality. https://beta.ctvnews.ca/national/canada/2019/5/24/1_4436132.html 13-year-old charged in Saskatoon playground assault, but other kids too young for charges CTVNews.ca Staff with a report from CTV Saskatoon's Stephanie Villella Published May 24, 2019 1:40 p.m. ET Updated 12 hours ago A 13-year-old-girl was charged Friday in connection with two recent assaults in Saskatoon, but police say that many of the other children caught on camera in the playground beating aren’t old enough for charges. The teenager, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, appeared in court to face two counts of assault. She has since been released from custody. The first incident happened on the evening of May 13, when a 10-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl reported being assaulted by a group of young people. The second alleged assault occurred on May 20, when Bonnie Halcrow, 33, was swarmed by a group of at least four people, in an incident that was captured on video by a bystander. The video shows multiple children kicking and hitting Halcrow, who falls to the ground. “My back is still hurting. I can’t sleep on my sides, I have to sleep on my belly,” Halcrow told CTV Saskatoon on Friday, adding that she was “shocked” that a suspect was arrested. “I just couldn’t believe it. Like, I didn’t think any of them would be identified.” A second teenager allegedly involved in the playground attack faces charges but has not been arrested, police said. But most of the children seen in the video are under the age of 12, which means they are too young to be charged. “We will be looking at working with our community partners and seeing if there’s some way to address the behavior. But from a legal standpoint, we are unable to lay charges,” said police spokeswoman Kelsie Fraser. Fraser said police have been receiving calls about a group of young people “causing disturbances” in the neighbourhood for weeks. “Until recently, their behavior didn’t enter into that criminal threshold, but we have been receiving a number of calls,” she said. Saskatoon city councilor Hilary Gough said the community needs to address the incident and find ways to prevent similar ones in the future. But she also suggested that these sorts of attacks are uncommon. “This is not a huge number of youth and this isn’t something we see often and we should be working to see that we don’t see this in our community,” she said. Even if many of the alleged attackers aren’t old enough to face legal repercussions, their behavior should be addressed, Halcrow said. “They need to be put through a program that will open their eyes to what their futures, their actions and what they do will lead them to,” she said. The 13-year-old suspect has been ordered to stay away from the victims and the other children involved. She is scheduled to appear again . https://www.ctvnews.ca/video?clipId=1691562&jwsource=cl
  17. Lol.....he might look happy now. Let's check on him in December.
  18. ^ This is gold and should be pinned and made mandatory reading before receiving posting privileges on CDC. CHL players are essentially semi-professional athletes in their lifestyles and team commitments. Their own advisors, CHL coaches, and if drafted, their NHL teams all have varying degrees of input in their training, diet, lifestyle ect... You can be certain a guy coming from a 'gold standard' franchise like Kelowna absolutely had excellent advice offered to him before and after his draft year.
  19. Let's see....get older, slower and have worse draft position ..... Pass.
