OK, there can be no doubt about it any longer. The officiating in the NHL is corrupt as all hell. That was game management by the refs to tilt the game towards their preferred team and it worked. The FBI/RCMP, need to open a RICO investigation immediately. Got to think that the betting websites aren't happy about this obvious corruption either, Why has no one ever gone to the FBI/RCMP over this obvious corruption? This is serious big-time crime here.

Not sure why you went from predicting the Canucks winning the Stanley Cup in 2022 Alf to then predicting we would make the playoffs even without Miller to now saying we'll lose games by well over 12. Why didn't we lose our last 2 games against Colorado and Minnesota (the home ones) by well over 12 then?? And that was under Green.

[GDT] Around the NHL | March (20-26) 2022
CanucksFan8353 replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in General Hockey Discussion
Get ready, Alf. With the Oilers seeming to be about to hit a losing streak again, I have a feeling April 28, 2022, and April 29, 2022, will be 2 of the most consequential days in Canucks and Oilers history. We both have back-to-backs against Southern California teams first and then we play each other in Edmonton. That game on Friday night in April will mean absolute joy and elation for one and total devastation and darkness for the other. That. Friday. Night. in April....all the marbles, perhaps even the future for the next decade at least, of both franchises, likely on the line. I think Dallas will have sewn up the final wildcard by the time we hit the ice in Edmonton. Winner of our game gets 3rd in the division and plays the Kings. The loser...well...like I said, rough times await them, indeed. I would bet that Miller and McDavid's futures in Vancouver and Edmonton are decided by this game as well. Think this game is more consequential than Game 7 1994 or Game 7 2011 really. Both of those, it was pretty clear we were likely going to come up short. That.Friday.Night. In. April. Game though, total coin flip. As an aside, my tingly spider senses are telling me we are going to get at least 3/4 points against the Avs and Wild. -
How did JR/PA do on TDL 2022? (10 being best, 1 being worst)
CanucksFan8353 replied to HKSR's topic in Canucks Talk
incredibly pissed, enraged really, at all the so-called Canucks fans on here, who say the chances are less than zero of us making the playoffs, when the Knights and Oilers both lost must-win games tonight and the oilers play the stars tomorrow so one team we are chasing is guaranteed to lose ground to us in the race tomorrow!!!! Also, saw calls on here, today, for Alvin, Granato, Rutherford, et al to be fired for not re-signing a 4th liner as if winning it all depended entirely on Motte! Really??? Apparently, you wanted the team to keep Motte but dump Miller. Do you know how insane that is???? The cockiness, and, indeed, almost joy that shines through, when posters post such things as "this team ain't making the playoffs" is also infuriating. Go Canucks Go! True fans never give up on their team. EVER. Especially not when we have 5 games + one game in hand left against the Knights, Oilers and Stars and especially when we are not even close to mathematically eliminated yet! When it is the final week and the Canucks are fighting for their lives and a playoff spot seems within reach, please don't jump back on the bandwagon. You made your bed. If and when that happens, lie in it. -

To assess the trade deadline moves, One must first ask oneself the question: What if Edmonton loses their back-to-backs against the Stars and Avalanche starting tonight, Vegas loses it's tough matchup tonight in regulation, and we win 2 of our upcoming games against the Stars, Avalanche and Wild? One must then proceed to assess where that leaves us in the playoff standings with 5 games yet to play against the Knights, Stars, and Oilers, plus a game in hand over Vegas. One must then ask oneself what is the overall playoff picture like after the circumstances outlined above occur, if they occur. One must also take note of the fact that Edmonton, Dallas and Vegas all played like crap for a stretch before they got hot again like the Canucks are playing like crap right now. Why must one rule out the Canucks getting hot again the way the Oilers, Stars and Knights seem to be? One should also take note that the fan forums were ruling out the Oiler's playoff chances around 7-10 days ago. One has many questions to think about. -
This will sound like an attack, but honestly it's not. I'm just curious. Why are you relentlessly negative and why do you seem to dislike the Canucks? I can understand being negative when one wanted Benning and Green fired and being so until that goal was accomplished, but your distaste continues to shine through even now, even after that was done. "Dismal play." "Only on the backs of two players." I guess the times Garland and Motte took the team on the back to secure a win don't count. I guess the times that Boesser, EP40 and Bo helped bail Demko out from an average game to secure the W don't count?? If you told 40, 53 and 43 that they were useless sacks of crap, how do you think they'd respond to ya? The attack line used by opposing fan bases directed to a team they dislike used to be "you're just an one line team." You've taken that insult and upped it one more to saying they are a "two man team." If I hated the team as much as you do, I couldn't stand to watch a period let alone a game let alone post daily about how bad they are. What's up? I think it's pretty clear that you don't want this team to succeed and would rather they make the playoffs again for the first time in like 2027 with an entirely new core. Have you thought about the financial hit FA would take if he followed your advice? As an aside, this team has shown that it could have been a .650+ team from the start of the year with coaching at the calibre of Boudreau's.

Hey Provost, two things: 1) Totally agree with you on the above. It seems brilliant. 2) Being into stats, you're probably already aware of 538 NHL projections, which are updated after every game, but if not, you would probably enjoy checking them out. Just enter 538 NHL into Google. They may be a bit low on our chances but they are higher than almost all others I think. We were down at like 10% not too long ago. 32% now with the potential to climb even further.

Uh...Roy, you loser, if you want to talk about antics, how about your antics in Montreal when you didn't like not getting pulled when you **** the bed??? A temper tantrum that would make the worst-behaved 1-12 year old devil child blush for sure! This story entitles you to an award. What award? Being one of the top 10 **holes all time in NHL history. You think someone of your "legendary" quote unquote 'talent' would recognize talent when you see it. Self-entitled prick jerk!!! Anyway, no need to let Roy ruin my night. Tremendous performance tonight and we're continuing to roll onto the playoffs, baby!

[PGT] Calgary Flames at Vancouver Canucks | Feb. 24, 2022
CanucksFan8353 replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
After this game, there can be NO DOUBT that we have a sensational team here with all the ingredients to go far in the playoffs. Just need a little luck to get in and if we get in, bookmark this post, again IF we get in, we're winning the Cup this year. Also, the way we won is such a statement to the entire league. Full credit again to Alf who was banging the drum of the Canucks winning the cup in 2022 way before the season even began (and got me on the wagon)! -
[Rumour] J.T. Miller Trade/Contract Talks
CanucksFan8353 replied to Podzilla's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
This talk of Marner coming to Vancouver is like a dream come true. I don't understand the long-term benefits for the Leafs though in trading Marner to us. Any deal with Marner involved though, we best jump at it. Dude is a total stud! He's the one player that I would trade JT for that we could realistically have and that has proven himself. -
This is outrageous. The Canucks are VERY much in the playoff race at this time. Are you trolling? Had a bad day? Sick with COVID? What?
-
2 points out of a playoff spot and you say it's all over with 3 months left in the season.....Whatever... In addition, the winning percentage that we are at since Bruce took over gets us into the playoffs and if you get the calculator out and project Calgary and San Jose out, puts us ahead of them at the end of the season. Being conservative in these calculations leads to us being .3 points ahead of Calgary by the end of the year. That's without factoring in overtime games, which is impossible. I would also caution you not fall into the trap of assuming that the prospects and picks we get back by blowing up the team, as you seem to want, would create a Cup-winning team. I'll concede to you that all is lost if we lose the season series to the Flames but if we win the season series to the Flames and win our last game year of the year against Edmonton, I can almost guarantee you we are in!
-
So I brought out the calculator and did multiple projections at how we might end up if we continue at the pace that Bruce has had us on. Needless to say, especially after the win tonight, we're still on track to make the playoffs and to possibly win our playoff spot by more than just 1 point. 100+ points is also not out of the question if all goes well.

Sorry dudes and dudettes! I love the post-game analyses almost as much as the game itself. Anyway, it's that JT Miller scored the first hat trick for a Canuck in Winnipeg since March 11, 1994, when the Russian Rocket did so, the year we almost won it all! Sportsnet Central, I believe, had that graph last night in their post-game. Anyway, my bottom line is trade JT only if trading him makes us a better playoff team THIS year.
-
I never thought of Miller being traded and still making the playoffs. If they can be delinked, as Alf suggests, I'd be all for getting a deeper playoff team in a JT Miller trade. I had always thought that a JT Miller trade = no playoffs but I can handle a delinking. For example, if we could get a RHD and a proven playoff scorer for this year's run, go for it. I'm not attached to JT Miller by any means, especially since he seems to not want to be here. Then again, Kawhi didn't want to be in Toronto but did win them a NBA championship. So it's tough.
-
From scrolling through the threads over the last period of time, there seem to be 2 points of agreement on CDC: 1. The Canucks aren't making the playoffs this year. 2. JT Miller is as good as gone and probably even before the TDL. These two opinions, in my very humble opinion, are highly premature. First, the team has run at a .650 winning percentage since Bruce "there it is" Boudreau" took over, which is stunning. A .640 or less winning percentage henceforth gets us in. Second, we just survived a COVID wave that nearly decimated the team with 4 points out 10 where we very possibly could have received zero. We have a player who everyone in the league is drooling over who just did something last night that hasn't happened since Pavel Bure did it in 1994 before the Canucks made their magical run that year. Fourthly, have you forgotten the 7 wins in 8 game streak, the winning 4/5 games before that, the easy schedule we have coming up in February. Lastly, for you to believe the Canucks will miss the playoffs this year, you have to look at the standings and tell me that Dallas, Calgary, Edmonton and San Jose are such colossuses that there is no way we can catch them by the end of the regular season, as they are just so darn good while we are not. Do you truly believe that? Saying "too many teams" to jump over is intellectually lazy in my opinion. As far as JT Miller goes, has AF from NY shown you ANYTHING to make you think that he will be as good as JT Miller? Anyway, the consensus may be right and I may be wrong. My only point here is that to have a consensus that the Canucks are out of the playoff race and JT Miller is basically 1 foot out the door already is highly premature. For those of us still hoping for success, can you at least hold off on the Canucks obituaries until we see how February and the early half of March play out? Until we have Demko, Pearson, Horvat and Hamonic all back and healthy, etc. Until we see if Sutter makes a return somehow? Is there a need for the obits prematurely? EDIT: The Oilers fans were all on in the tanks and picks for years, and all it got them was a bubble playoff team and 1 round 2 game 7. That strategy of tanking and trading hasn't worked out terribly well for them has it?

Things will get really interesting when we win the cup in a few months. Then, instead of rebuilding now, we'll be rebuilding around 2024 or 2025. I'm expecting a one and done Raptors 2019-type outcome (with making some noise in the 2022-23 playoffs but not a 2-peat). So, where we go after that will be fascinating. And what we do with the Boesser QO if he helps us win a cup will be equally riveting. Will he be our Kahwi Leonard? Ever since the Boudreau/Rutherhord hire, my instincts have been screaming Stanley Cup.

[PGT] Vancouver Canucks at Winnipeg Jets | Jan. 27, 2022

Had $1500+ bucks riding on the Canucks tonight. Needless to say, this man had a profitable evening! Nice work boys. Tremendous pounding win. No one likes losing to the Coilers! Was getting worried there for a few weeks that we weren't going to win the cup; Not anymore. Alf assured us last year that the Canucks would win the Cup in 2022 and got me on the wagon. Looking like he was right! I had a feeling ever since the Sunday Petterson/Hughes signed that this year would be special also!
