  1. Look at your ticket contract. You are only entitled to watch a game. Not that the game would be refereed correctly. The NHL seems like the WWE at times.
  2. I believe our star players may take a couple of weeks to get up to par.
  3. Begining of the season. Tired of seeing the same play to set up Petey. Way too predictable. Need to have Oliver on the first PP unit because Quinn's positioning needs some work. I know it is early in the season, and our two star players missed most of training camp. But they are not up to par right now. We need momentum, positive momentum. So when we are in 9th place this season and we needed a few more points. Every game matters.
  4. Here we are. I glhave given a benediction for this team, asking God to bless them this season, and help all of us to keep our Canuck faith.
  5. They have been doing this approach for several years. It would be nice to have your entire team play the preseason, to set them up for a seccesful season. But, you don't want some meathead that won't earn an NHL spot taking a shot at your best players
  6. A lot of optimism for this team. Best tandem, if healthy, since 2010-2021. Time to see if that bears any good fruit.
  7. Going for my third shot in the morning. I am a PRN hospital chaplain and serve vulnerable people.
  8. ESPN+ is showing the games. It is a part of the Disney+ family and you can bundle your subscription there.
  9. I would never make any of these trades. https://pucksandpitchforks.com/2021/08/24/new-jersey-devils-even-consider-targeting-quinn-hughes/amp/4/
  10. Has GB finally shown he is ready to make the right moves to make this team competitive and/or dominating again?\
  11. I have been on here for 16-plus years. This page is filled with speculative stuff like what we will look like in two to three years. Who cares? We have to get through this coming season and that's it. Can we compete with a full roster? Has the team become more competitive on paper? How about jump on the Canucks train and enjoy the ride!
  12. Should be a pretty good ball hockey player once he gets out of prison.
  13. I share this opinion. It was like in the Sedins and Salo days. In overtime they would get a power play. And on that power play they would control the puck and set Salo up for a shot. Almost money in the bank everytime.
  14. Especially if he has the work ethic of Alexander Burrows. I went to a couple of practices when Burr was on the team. First one on, last off, and worked on drills, face offs, and shooting accuracy. \
  15. I have three white sweaters because I live outside Canada want to represent--skate, Vancouver with the orca, and a Canadian Olympic sweater.
  16. Why pay for something that you can get for free? If it is for free and still no one wants it, can it be considered as trash at that point? Do you throw your trash out or do you hold on to it?
  17. This logical post deserves everyone upvoting. It simply described the dynamics of faceoffs. Like Petey said the control of the puck is dependent upon the location of the draw. If you are on the PK taking a draw in the defensive zone and win that draw, you gain enough control--time and possession-- to throw it down the ice and hopefully all the way. This then benefits the way the PK D can set up with four across the line. It then allows them to clog things up and force more pucks back into the other zone. Winning draws changes dynamics. I think as a Texan living in Missouri and a lifetime Canucks fan, this post is better than eating fried pickles. When it is done right, they are fantastic.
  18. I don't think Eriksson is cheap to dump. If he was, that deal would have been made a long time ago. Just the other teams in the league have no interest in him, even when he was placed on waivers. They could have had him for free but still did not want him.
  19. If he goes, we should see less goals deflecting off of him. But what I like, to be honest, is that by not signing him it will free up $6-million. Now if he was getting just his base salary of $1-million with incentive based bonuses, we would make that deal any day of the week. But I firmly believe he won't receive a $10-million bonus this time around from any team period. Think that is what JB is thinking.
  20. At the time many on here predicted that he would never finish his 14 year contract. New CBA comes in and Weber signs for 14 years hoping to fulfill that contract versus LTIR and/or early retirement. But ten years in and things happen. Nashville gets away with avoiding recapture and Montreal gains with LTIR. But as Luongo once said, "My contract sucks.". Prophetically true.
  21. You can still have the lottery with that set up because it is based on seasonal play and that won't need to change. It is about seating every team and giving them a chance to compete for the Cup. In Canucks lore we celebrate our below .500 team that made a playoff run into the Stanley Cup final-that would never happen in today's NHL. Heck, back then even having a coin toss to see who got home ice advantage seems to undermine seasonal success.
  22. It is fresh. These divisions would work. I would like to see every team make the playoffs just by adding a new playoff tier. It would significantly increase team revenues as playoff games are actually payoff games for the respected clubs. We now have the symmetry that can allow for this.
