  1. 1. Gino's first game as a Canuck 2. That extraordinarily long playoff game against the Dallas Stars 3. The game that Pavel Bure scored the overtime goal to win the series. 4. Night Gino manhandled the entire St. Louis Blues team
  2. Want to change D dynamics: too bad Tryamkin cannot come back, then we move Myers and add Klingberg. Our D would have some serious bite to it and maybe make better decisions with and without the puck.
  3. We have not had a good shot since Sami Salo last played for us.
  4. The legal standard is innocent until proven guilty, beyond a reasonable doubt. If your legal standard is correct, God forbid any of us getting arrested and having to prove our innocence. Jake is innocent, period; because the Crown could not prove guilt. If it was guilty, he would be hauled off to prison or as back home in Canada, he would be picking up trash along a highway or volunteering his time at the local SPCA to help Sarah McLaclan make those sad pet commercials that come on the TV at 3:00AM.
  5. Like many of us who actually live down here ESPN+ is the best option. You can have it bundled with Disney+ and HULU for under $20 per month. If you are with Verizon that drops down to as low as $0 a month. If you don't want commercials on HULU, that bundle costs $6. So much better than the rabbit years hoping to catch as CBC signal on a Saturday night.
  6. Very reasonable post. Well thought out. We all want the team to improve this season and make the playoffs. I think, as we are currently constructed have the potential to have a fantastic season. So here's to our glorious future!!!
  7. Hopefully he can now afford to get a new suit. So tired of watching him wear gray.
  8. Canucks fans are persistently anxious. Maybe as a collective we need better coping skills like shrimp tacos, some Do's Equis and Sabritos while we are in the Mayan Riviera. I am in. Maybe then we can relax.
  9. SIncerity is not a good measure of UFOs being true. All eyewitnesses in this day and age need to be put through a voice stress analyzer first before they are given a microphone. While you can beat a polygraph, you don't beat the voice stress analyzer. It is what the US government uses in its polyscope for your security clearance each year. This is a true story. My neighbour came over one night very excited because a UFO was flying over us. There was a orb flying way up there. The problem for him was that the ISS was flying overhead. I pulled out an app that tracks the ISS and showed him the flight path. It was the right place and right time. Despite the evidence, he sincerely believed that he saw one that night.
  10. I have sustained my fair share of concussions-TBIs--and they are no joke. Each one seems to be worse that the one before. The symptoms can be horrible, even months later with post-concussion syndrome. Sven had his fair share of concussions and the fact that he could try to comeback into NHL form speaks to his determination and resiliency.
  11. Great point: We hide behind the fallacies we create. Taking accountability for the things you do on and off the ice are paramount. A strongly built moral character should trump the type of accountability that comes off the ice. But down here in the Bible belt, Houston, Texas, we have the Deshaun Watson saga, Those who win football games or basketball games are kings. This did not start happening as a one of, it is a system that ignores it, because it is easier to write a check and hide behind it.
  12. I have a lot of experience with barbecue in the US South. It's not that you can't get ribs at a barbeque joint in Dallas, brisket in Texas is often the better choice. In the mid-west, Kansas City brisket and ribs are really good because the sauce is great, then St. Louis style of ribs tastes a lot better than Texas and Kansas City styles, and all three are way better than Memphis style. Memphis is messy and quite vinegary, and is usually used on pork ribs or pulled pork. Carolina styled barbecue differs from all of them because they have a heavy emphasis on pork using mustard based sauces.
  13. I am all in for firearms. The Colt 45s was the original name of the Houston Astros.
  14. To get a guaranteed playoff spot in the Pacific this past season, we would have had to hit 100 points. I mean, the difference was winning four more games against the right teams. Our future hinges on whether we see this team follow a similar trajectory as the season when the WCE started taking off. We have some great young core pieces that are hungry. I hope we get 110, but I have been let down by the Canucks for over 50 years that I struggle with the fear of another year of disappointment.
  15. Career years for some of our guys. Does Miller reach 100, does Quinton set a record? All up from here.
  16. I love my Cadillac. Best $70,000 I ever spent. So balanced and quiet. Easily go over 90MPH if you are not paying attention.
  17. Back in the 1990s I worked for the Calgary Flames. As much as I hated Messier and despised how he messed with the Canucks and causing Linden to leave, I never thought about throwing potato chips at him. Wasn't worth losing my job-- I also loved that job because it paid really well and the Flames allowed us to wear our Canucks sweaters at the game.
  18. Even for that price, they are lit. Totally bussin in that one. Got my taxes back. Might as well put a bid for one.
  19. Hoping for some team first contracts like the ones that Burrows and Kesler took. It was significantly less than they would get on the market, but took it because they wanted to play for a winner.
  20. Those suggesting that BB is too old and should retire, I would ask them to consider the age of the coach of the Houston Astros as an example. Dusty Baker is 72 years old and still going strong. He is able to handle a long preseason, long season, long games, and then there is the playoffs. My point is this: Just because there may be snow on the roof, there may still be fire in the fireplace. If BB keeps inspiring the players like he has this half season, offer him a contract. Let him make the decision about his future. But looking at the team, it kind of reminds me of the Canucks during the WCE days. The half season before the Canucks took off, they pushed hard that second half of the season but just missed the playoffs. That next season the Canucks story changed. Right coach at the right time and is getting results is a win. It was so much fun hearing Crow chirping from the bench.
  21. I am with you. Got mine December 18th and finally starting to feeling better. The way my eyes get in certain lighting, and fast moces is yikes. But then throw COVID and shingles in there really sucked.
