  1. it would be nice to see toi and shift length attached to the list
  2. 1.5 minutes against the best players in the league vs 26 seconds against the 2nd unit starting in their own zone, then getting scored on after the pk is done, affecting +/- but not pk stats
  3. hmmm maybe that is part of the problem
  4. I hear there is some talk about Johnny Gaudreau going back to Calgary who cares what about the clash of the titans BigDickie VS Tankommandr StandStillman
  5. I think Sulzer was an FA signing in the summer of 2011 then the Canucks and Sabres made 2 trades on deadline day Hodgson <> Kassian and Sulzer<> Gragnani
  6. Neale 78-82 Neilson 82-84 Neale 1984 LaForge 1984 Neale 84-85 Watt85 85-87 Quinn 91-94 Ley 94-96 Quinn 1996 Renney 96-97 Keenan 97-99 back in the good old days, when GMs used to go back behind the bench back then coach/Gm was a thing even before that there used to be player/coaches now its GM/Prez to answer your question, no I think 2 coaches, McCreary (41 games) and LaForge(20) got sacked before competing a full season, however they started the season
  7. hard to play against there was one play last game Canuck on the PK he rushes the puck into the Oiler zone, then loses it turns his back to the player with the puck and motions to the bench for a change, skates away from the Oiler, to the bench by the time his replacement hits the ice the Oil are already setting up in the O-zone that to me is a checked out player guess who?
  8. ironically, I gave you a teddy bear, haha the question now is whether Allvin can make good decisions, good trades and good picks I will be interested in Joshua and Lazar Josh started the year well but has turned into a softiecanuck I thought Lazar started a bit slow, but like his game recently, but if he is going to be a 2 goal scorer its going to be hard to keep him around
  9. I haven't finished watching yet, but in the first 10 minutes, JR said, "I have heard form players and agents that support what we are doing" (not a direct quote) It reminded me of when Gillis said, "There is another team interested in Luongo" it's like, really? who? and nobody ever materialized
  10. I have only watched the first 10 minutes, I'll get around to the rest of it in a bit. Didn't see much from Tochett. here is the problem, with always trying to make the best of things Fans don't want to see players traded, but if the player is soft, you cannot build around him If Pettersson, Horvat or Hughes are soft, they need to go if they can buy in then they can stay that is what is meant by "hard decisions" so far I haven't seen hard decisions from management, and that is a problem
  11. I would think the best examples would be Trotz and Sutter. Torts is over the top, in an almost cartoonish way. and it is not as simple as changing the coach for one year Bieksa said on Saturday, that when AV came in mid-season that he spent the first year breaking everyone down, then he picked up the guys that didn't fold and rebuilt Torts never got past the breaking down stage then lost the room and everyone else when he lost it against Calgary notice how the new teams Vegas and Seattle come out with a lunch pail work ethic, because the coach can say, but does not have to, "YOU have all been effectively waived (left unprotected) are you a loser, or are you going to show the world that you have what it takes?" as an organization that is a better place to be than, "YOu went to the final, have gotten a bit soft, we tried the hard coach routine, now we are going to give you what you always wanted in a coach that cannot control you as a group"
  12. I agree with you to a point what I would add is, smart snarl is good, I too want a team with snarl Snarl when your teammate gets punched or your goalie takes some digging is great snarl because the questions about your mis-handling or Bruce, your trading away of draft picks, your 1st rounder not progressing, and your retirement contracts in your first year that to me is more like petulance that kind of snarl is not going to help that is "Don't ask me hard questions about my mistakes" snarl to compare it to players Kevin Bieksa and Derek Dorset had snarl Bieksa had the kind of snarl I would like to see more of Dorsett had the kind that was misplaced and not really helpful re management Quinn and Burkie and even Mike Keenan, ( I know many hate him) and Mike Gillis had the kind of snarl I'd like to see I think Jim Benning had some snarl, but it always seemed to be covering up his mistakes it seemed to directed at underlings who might take his job away
  13. what leaks are you talking about?
  14. I have a bud that did not get paid by Frankie Now, there are 2 possibilities re the Boogeyman 1 Franco is not the boogeyman, at which point you are correct 2 Franco is the boogeyman, at which time there is no reason to look other directions,
  15. ya, I wonder how our dog is making out? Don't hear much about the dog lately
  16. that is a really good question that I don't have time to answer right now but I will get back to you on that
  17. yes, you kind of have to draft one, or traded for a disgruntled one Petey is the closest thing we have which is why the only players I really care about on this team are Petey and Schenn, and maybe Hughes I don't think its Petey's time yet though Until we have leadership from the top, its pointless asking anyone to Captain this mess
  18. I want an intense leader I didn't closely followed the wings or the Avs during their heydays, but I don't ever recall hearing anything from Sakic or Yzerman. Did you see the segment of Dak Jo being mic'ed up? He was very Rah Rah, but he sounded like a guy who was uncomfortable being mic'ed up It did not say "Captain Material" at all to me Back in Pat Quinn's day as GM/coach, Tom Larscheid used to say, "When Pat Quinn walks into a room, you pay attention" Pat was neither chatty or Rah Rah, nor was he Quiet, but he commanded respect. Back in the days of Jake and Jarod, Daniel had a problem with their attitude, and he took it to the media. That to me is a sign that there was a lack of 'presence', that is something that a strong room would not let out to the public
  19. do you really think it's system Like, "hey Mik, you follow Crosby 1/2 way to the net, then peel off and look for someone that is already covered and cover him" "Hey Dak, remember that time you scored 2 goals in a game? from now on you cover the left point man" Hey Stiller, our new system is you skate where ever you feel like and someone else will cover your post" "Hey Bear, you just fall down, maybe we will get a power play, thats the new system"
  20. ya go on half of those are from Wednesday so it got reported Half are also the same clip of Torts if its as big a story as you say it is, it will still be top of the new a week from now otherwise its just a news blip Of course it would get reported, why wouldn't it? as I said, half of those stories are from Wednesday, if these news outlets can't be bothered to do a follow up, its not that big a deal get back to me next Thursday with some more hot articles I could show as many articles about Jeff Beck dying and tomorrow it will be about Crosby, David, not Sid This isn't COVID, or 911 or a mass shooting in Canada, its not even as big as Trudeau wearing pajamas
