  1. No Worries Gawdz I will say that I respect your comments And I am certainly guilty of inflicting wrath NO, I think Bo is a very good player and yes I want to see him traded and when he goes I fully expect to see him excel with his new team, without the burden of the C I want to see him traded as much for his own good as well as the good of the team I am not a homer "love the Canucks and hate all others" , so I can enjoy Bo's success in an other uniform (except Boston, where unfortunately I think he will end up) there has been a lot of talk about all the great ways JB shielded the youth etc and I believe that most of ol Jim's methods were wrong Bo Horvat is a product of those mistakes I think I said earlier that Bo is everything we thought Brock Boeser would be enough about that You say you don't get mad at your teammates, but maybe give them a half shrug which is fine at what ever level you play at but I think that is what has been happening in Vancouver for a very long time We can go back as far as Naslund and his "We choked" line or Daniel eating punches from Marchand these things have been met with a half shrug, and that is the environment that Bo has grown up with I think when JR called out Bruce's coaching, Bruce gave it a half shrug as well and Miller, we've seen it as he glides back to the bench So when people talk about this or that being an isolated incident, I don't see it that way there are many more examples and any one of them in a vacuum is not a problem Just as one bad goal or one bad draft pick is not a problem, but this is the culture of this team Jo Sakic and Steve Yzerman came up through really bad teams so its not just the losing, guys can come through a losing team and still create a winner Rod Brind 'Amour has produced more as a coach than he did as a player, but I think the success of the Hurricanes rests firmly on Rod's shoulders these are guys that I just don't see shrug things off Pat Quinn is the closest the Canucks have ever had to that type of presence, and when ever he stepped away from coaching, the team failed until the Canucks find that type of person/presence I think they are doomed to failure
  2. I find this Trotz talk really interesting not because I think its a good idea but Hire Rutherford almost out of retirement Hire Bruce almost out of retirement Trotz has made retirement/ my family is more important right now, type statements and yet fans want him to come and work miracles Trotz is younger, but he is sounding disinterested it seems like another too short exercise we have gone from thinking that Green would "Grow with the team" (Which I was never on board with) to hiring the oldest guys still in the league
  3. I also find it interesting that JR comes in as Stan's boss why is it that Stan has stagnated he is not too old to take on that job, but seems to have reached his ceiling It said in the article I posted above that one on Jim's first moves was to promote Stan Kind of weird after Stan made that emotional speech during the firing frenzy
  4. I think the interview from Pittsburg shows that maybe he wasn't thinking it all the way through when he made the choice, and he is having some regrets now
  5. whoa, easy big fella I gave you 3 choices and you are cock sure Schenn would have taken the stupid route Bo is a good player, and I agree that it was management who gifted him the C when he was not ready and the team was in shambles I would say at this point, Bo is everything we hoped Brock Boeser would be But I would disagree that Bo holds his own and that play last night is a prime example as i mentioned above, he literally looked to the ref, even said something, I wouldn't have been surprised if he took a penalty like Daniel did back in 2011 you gave me a list of 17 players, 7 of whom are or were Canucks and 5 are tiny and only 2 have won the big prize, and of that group, I'm thinking its most likely Landeskog and Stamkos would step in. (Did you like that clip when Stamkos back checked like a demon when the game was out of reach?) The rest, who cares, their teams get bounced in the playoffs anyway and again, you are stuck on this "Smashmouth" hyperbole you claim that I can't see through different lenses, but for you its smashmouth or pussy (your word, not mine) I gave my opinion on what I think Schenn would have done, but you have "No Doubt" (read that one lens) about what he would do Oh, the kettle, she is a black one
  6. that is why I never liked Derek Dorsett that guy would take every fight, even if it was because the Canucks were up 3-0 and the other team needed a lift I like MaEwen I remember a couple of years ago, that exact situation, and he said no, not this time remember that game earlier in Seattle when Miller and Schenn both got in fights with Kraken defensemen then Bo asks a 3rd D to dance the guy says no, so his team doesn't play for 5 or 15 minutes with 3 D Dorsett could never figure that out
  7. hahaha you kids crack me up! "POP SERGACHEV" !!???? you talk as if that is even something that Bo Horvat might do once in a million years he won't ever under no circumstances is Bo Captain Horvat ever going to POP Serg. so, with that said, he was not exercising discipline It's just not there, not in his DNA, not in his character let me ask, if that was Luke Schenn standing exactly where Horvat was, would he have taken a penalty and/or "Popped Serg"? would he have literally looked the other way at the ref (the closest thing I've seen to Daniel/Marchand in 12 years) or would he have gone nose to nose with Serg and let him know he will finish business next meeting, but not taken the first shot? My bet is that Serg would have felt that yellow creeping up his spine as he knows he is in the clutches of a bigger tougher man, who doesn't need to pop him to get the message through, but he just might you kids are always going from -20 to +110% with no gray in between Speaking of Schenn, that holding penalty was the weakest call I've seen this week
  8. It is totally fair that this group has a short leash they had wiggle room and spent it on Miller and Boesey they traded a second for Stillman and to dump Dickie, something they said they would not do If they cannot follow their own mandate, why should they get more rope? what is really unfair is that Benning got 8 years, and even then it took chanting and jerseys on the ice to force a cosmetic upgrade in the FO. Its not ALL Aqua's fault Rutherford did not have to take this job, and it was incumbent on him to ensure he had a workable situation everyone in the league knew the stories about Aqua pulling the strings for JR to sign on to a handcuff position can be blamed on no-one but himself he either signs on with autonomy or he signs on to be part of the problem simple as that If I was looking at living in a cardboard box, I might sign on and take Aqua$$$ but If I had a house paid off in Raleigh and could retire comfortably, I sign on with autonomy or not at all I find blaming the "Pressure of a Canadian market" incredibly weak especially considering he brough with him a rookie staff why bring rookies into this pressure cooker? and potentially signed on to be handcuffed by his boss where is the pressure coming from, the fans with the short leash or the boss breathing down your, and you helpers, necks? every Canadian market doesn't have Aqua I am not saying that Canadian markets aren't different and difficult, they are here is an article on his thinking https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/canucks-rutherford-keeps-diversity-front-mind-hiring-process/ interesting that he first hired Clancey, then Doerrie before Castonguay, Allvin and Granado
  9. Can't tell if you are joking gonna assume that you are because I have questions like, when was OEL a #2 defenseman and when was Lazar a defensive specialist? (just cuz you don't score, doesn't make you a Dspec) and projected top 6 D-man? this group is full of top 6 d-men, just not enough top 2 or even top 4 or promising young Fs ? you mean like Lind, Mac Ew and Gadj ? and Plugs like Stillman, Joshua and Stud are not any better than Sbisa, DelZot, Mac Ewen, Gadjo, HIghmore or Granmamma I have argued before that there iss no difference between Granmamma and Studboy, at 24 Granny had 32 points while the Studman is on pace for 1/2 that, both could be -20ish and Shua? at least MacEw and Gadjo appear to understand their roles, Joshua scored 2 goals in a game once and forgot what his game was Pizza> DelZ> ...> Brisebois>>> tank comander Stillman
  10. and pour captain stands there and complains I liked the Pedey fight tough, looked like he wasn't into it until he realized fighting was better than getting beaten up I'd give Pedey the belt tonight
  11. hahaha what did Mik do wrong to deserve this demotion? Schenn on the first pair, just to rub a little salt in Tampa's noses, show them what they let slip away Dermo and Myzie.. poor Dermot Stiller in, OEL out, just to show VanFans how bad it can also be Burroughs paired with OEL in the press box Four guys on the 3rd line... think anyone will notice that is a winning line up
  12. on a positive note he was acquired off waivers saving us the usual price of a 2nd round pick
  13. well, lets see, Huberdeau was traded and so was Matt TKchuck Miller was just entering the last year of a really good contract Basically if you are not a good poker player, you probably won't be a good GM GMs have to make decisions about the future they can't wait til the player has peaked to trade for or away a decision needed to be made, Mik or Boeser. Allvin chose "BOTH" a decision needed to be made, trade Miller or sign, or wait til the deadline Allvin chose sign was that the correct decision? Time will tell, but not looking so good right now
  14. technically they are not girls, they are women so yes calling them girls is derogatory As my girlfriend would say, "What are they 10?" I do not see how you can say, There's literally no reason to bring up their gender. and It doesn't matter if it's publicity If it is a publicity stunt based on their gender, then there is literally every reason to bring in their gender I have made 2 posts, both in this thread when I mentioned the Chipmunk Girls and from that you infer that "I like to point out there gender" nice try Do yo think if either one becomes an NHL GM that they will not be heralded as the ground breaking "First female GMs in NHL history"? they will this from WIki She was named one of the 25 most powerful women in hockey by Sportsnet in 2020.[6] I am not anti inclusion, but am anti tokenism and that was my point to begin with Just as Travis Green, a man as far as I know, failed as an NHL Head Coach, in part because he was too arrogant to take an assistant's job, I wonder why women need to start with jobs in the NHL rather than working their way up through the minor leagues?
  15. You know, I just did a rant of the fact I think that the Chipmunk Girls were a publicity stunt and new Jimmer spent most of his FO building time concentrating on making the Canucks diverse. so, the question is, "Is diverse the root of diversion? Or is it the other way around?"
  16. I think Stan is complicit in this remember those crocodile tears, (ok there weren't any tears, but) that heart felt statement when Ol' JImmer and Greenie got fired? Stan has been part of this whole fiasco for decades now. He is the original "Linden" show up when Aqua needs a former Canuck to sooth the rabid fans IDK what Stan actually does, but he is nearly a decade younger than Rutherford, so why not step up and do something rather than whatever it is that he does between heart felt statements and subbing for management no-shows as the old saying goes, "If you aren't part of the solution, you are part of the problem" what soluting doth stan do?
  17. well, this might just be my opinion but I always thought the Chipmunk girls were just a publicity stunt right from the get go I have no idea why they signed Derek Clancy but the chipmunk girls seem to be there because new Jimmer went on an "inclusiveness rampage" when he took over It reminds me of that Disney movie I saw over at my grandkid's with the 3 legged dog, bi-racial couple with a gay kid and a wheelchair bound neighb, first nations possible dyke mayor, ancient Asian woman and some convoluted ecco theme come to think of it, maybe new Jimmer should look to Disney for help making the Canucks MORE DiVERSE and inclusive lets debut the Rainbow skate jersey so, if they are a publicity stunt, the least they could do is a few public stunts, like balance a pencil on their nose If they are here for their hockey acumen, the least they could have done was swat that pen out of Allvinies hand before he signed Brock and JT this summer colour me , not sold
  18. just because we can score goals doesn't mean the forwards are set up yet either still can't kill penalties or grind out a game it's not just the D and G too many smurffs and what the heckle and jeckle happened to Joshua? remember when we thought he was good? it seems like he hasn't thrown a hit since Hallowe'en
  19. that would make sense, if they din't sign JT and Brockturddler to anchor contracts but since they did it makes no sense at all
  20. I would have agreed with you on July 1when the signings were made But overall Mikheyev and Kuz have been bright spots in an otherwise horrid year Allvin missed a really good opportunity to to move on from or low ball Boeser Mikheyev may well have been tied to the Kuzmenko deal, and if he was then it created the opportunity to move on from Boeser Mik scored goals at a higher rate last season than did Boeser, yet Boeser got signed for $2M more a perfect opportunity to offer Boeser a show me contract or let him walk was missed by our rookie GM Boeser was a free agent when Alvin signed him and he signed after Kuz and Mik Brock has always been paid on potential, he is getting a little long in the tooth for that now but good ol' Allvinie gave Brock his last big contract in short, Mik is not the problem on a side note, I watched a few minutes of the Leafs game today It seems that they are so broken up about Mikheyev leaving that they put his name on their jerseys who knew they thought so much of him
