already did not feeling the need to repeat for you who have done nothing but troll have you even made one point yet?
  2. Came into the league on a bad Nordique team, within 2 years it featured 3 Stastnys and Dale Hunter, later he played with Joe Sakic. He held his own with all those guys

so, you are sticking with your 'food fight' analogy as quality argument. I have read a lot of your other posts, and that post was probably your worst. Don't get too tied up in it, we have all made poor post from time to time if that's the hill you choose to die on, go nuts. Silly Goose will defend you. I am afraid once you brought in the food fight i just drifted off to John Belushi and Animal House, the paragraph before wasn't much better. feel free to explain it if you wish. as far as Keenan goes, I took that as rhetoricle. And I am not just for experience, I want a good coach. I am on board with Nick Nurse who is about the same age and has assistant experiance and experience in othe leagues but won a championship in his first year as head coach. I don't care, I like the way he coaches. I think Jared Bednar has a good shot at coach of theYear, won';t likely win, but will get some votes. People keep going on about Green 'growing with the group'. Does Bednar need to 'grow with his group'? I think Green coaches like a stick in the mud, imo he is pragmatic to a fault, maybe he figures it out, and that would be great, if not I want a smart, inovative coach, and I am not hung up on experience or not. I think the experience/not experience argumant is detracting from useful dialogue about whether Green is good or not. edit: not sure if Silly Goose is your bud, but that poster has already taken me to task on this post. I can't say Silly has said anything of value in your defense. You are better off on your own. At least your arguments are well thought out most of the time. So I am willing to give you a mulligan on the food fight argument. cheers
  4. I don't agree your argument is a bit like Roger Neilson's argument that PK should be derived by minutes of kill over total penalties killed the only problem is at the end of the day they end out equal. Good coaches survive, whether they have to go back to the AHL/ECHL/college/Europe or Junior the good coaches will make it back to the league of their choice. While bad coaches fade. that is what makes these conversations interesting those that think Travis is a bad coach think (rightly or wrongly) that they see something missing in his game those that support Travis also see something that (rightly or wrongly) that will translate into future success Some rant, some use logic and argument, some use caustic wit and others troll hard, but we are all trying to justify our beliefs or gut feelings

Oh Silly, did I sleep with your girlfriend? If I did I promse not to do it again. Which "relevant points" did I miss, the food fight? but hback on topic it seems to me that there are 2 different arguments going on in this thread. 1 the people who are not ennammered with Green say "Green is not a great coach and one of the reasons for that is because he is inexperienced" 2 the pro Green crowd respond, "Coach Bylsma et al were inexpreienced, so you have no argument" I have not heard one argument that says, "All inexperienced coaches suck" but it seems that is what the Pro Green crowd are arguing against. Side note, Scotty Bowman coached in leagues I have never heard of for 11 years before taking over StLouis in 1967, his record was not that good, and the Blues were sub-500 in his first year, but he turned out to be a pretty good coach.
  6. I like the fact that 2 years from now we only have 8 players currently on our roster 3 wingers parachuting over Miller + Hughes and 5 "What Ifs" on D Who is playing goal? 2020 +2021 draft picks?

oh goodness that post decended into gibberish but you mention Mike Keenan, who by the way is 70 years old now so a little past his best before date. But funny because both Keenan and Torts are/were successful coaches but in Vancxouver they combined for 190 games over 3 seasons. That is 63 +45 for Keenan and 82 for Torts, they were both tasked with the same thing when hired in Vancouverand both times owner/management did not have the stomach to see the project through. Both Keenan and Torts had their shortest and least successful run in Vancouver. Actually that is not entirely true of Keenan he had a few bad runs after winning the Cup in New York. But Torts was hired in Vancouver to shake things up, and he did that. but once Linden and Bennning were brought in, they doubled down on keeping the Sedins happy even though they were then well past their prime and scoring at the same rate that Mark Messier did during his season here with Keenan. It seems Keenan lost his spot as a coach and became a trouble shooter for several teams after the NYR cup, but Torts has had 3 successful runs and one short stop in Vancouver, so I ask, did he fail or did management chicken out?

  9. its Canuck year 50 I'd like to see some Canuck year 1 games on sportsnet even year 10 or 20 games from this season or even last season, most fans will know the score long before the game ends maybe they can do a John Garrett special series!!! Woot

  11. 30 in Island health does that include Victoria? or is Victoria VIHA
  12. so. I just talked to my lovely GirlFriend on the phone. we have not been in close contact since we came back from Van Isle holiday last Sunday, 5 days ago. Today she went to work at her Gov't office job for the first time since our holiday. She had a meeting and stood with in 3 feet of a person who works with a other person who'se roommate was at the Dental Conference last week Question: will talking to my GF on the phone kill me? will talking to her in person kill me? to recap she (1) talked to a co worker(2) who'se office mate(3) lives with someone(4) from the dental conference me
  13. with 6 months to perfect video hockey, I think the NHL will start up on time next season with video/hologram players All contracted players will get paid, (for not saying anything) and the fans will not be the wiser This could be the best thing for the NHL. NO big contracts, no new arenas, no air travel, just money for the greedy
  14. so trollish and Captn Obvious of you DeNiro Battman and Daly are robots , they want what the owners want They work for them. he I am wasting my time thinking up scenerios where Arizona could make the playoffs and you contribute this pulp sheeesh
  15. first let me say I am just doing this for my own entertainment I think the league will and should shut down but in the interest of fairness I should have put Arizona into the group that could make the playoffs because with 7 teams vying, there is a scenerio where Arizona could make the playoffs ever tried to make a schedule? its pretty fun scenerio where Airzona makes playoffs with 73 game schedule gr Dallas(4) Nash/Min/Winn//Cal.....4 wins----------- 90pts--3rd Winni (2) Dallas/Calgary.............1 los(Dal)/win-- 82pts -1st wc Calga (3) Vanco/Dallas/Winni.....3 loss/ 0 win--- 79 pts -out Vanco(4) Ariz/Minni/Nash/Cal.....3win/1los(Ari)--84 pts-3rd Minni (4) Ariz/Van/Nash/Dalla.....1 win(Nash)--- 79pts- out Nash (4) Ariz/Van/Minni/Dalla.....0 wins/4 los--- 78pts - out Arizo (3) Nash/Van/Minnisota.....3 wins/0 los--- 80 pts - 2nd wc this is how I waste my time
  16. I think Seattle will help some teams and not others they will take some MA Fleurys but also some Fantenburgs not too likely they take Ericksson, Baer, Rooster or Sutter more likely a MacEwen which would hurt and not save us any money
  17. I have often said the NHL is not good at looking pro/con at their new rules here is a perfect example if all the rules are to increase scoring, I for the life of me cannot figure out why the Glove hand pass is still aloud in the defensive zone
  18. this seems like the most likely In some ways I am surprized it has not happened already, after all this is a league driven by equipment makers. it is ironic that Bobby Hull's stick is still illegal and yet super flexy graphite sticks are the norm. the Broad Street Bullies were 45 years ago, 45 years before that goalies were not aloud to leave their feet and forward passes were also banned the next few years probably see lots of eletronics added around the new puck Automatic offside whistles electronic goal lines synced with the new pucks auto high stick on puck lots of useless data lot of changes to make the game tech more women involved
  19. I made a 73 game shedule and 4 rounds over in the other NHL plan thread need 50 days to complete the season and playoffs restart by may 13, finish more or less on time. that said I have no problem with cancelling the season
  20. why not use lotto balls for all games? restart the season tomorrow use a weighted lottery system to decide which players score goals fans love the lottery Gary loves the lottery continue as if nothing has happened
