  1. What about Benning and ALL his character guys? Never drafts guys unless they are character guys never trades for guys unless they are character guys? where are all these character guys when the puck drops?
  2. Hey IBatch, next time you go to a game, take a big sillly sign ir waer a pink tutu. I kept looking for you last night, but SN isn't big on pictures of biker lookin dudes unless they are wearin tutus
  3. bree2 you are hilarious. Most of us know that any talk of trading Brock will bring your wrath, but no one except you is tallking about "fault" Was it the Sedin's fault that they got old and needed to retire? Is it Ferland's fault that he has head injuries? Why are you talking about fault? 2 weeks ago you were down on Jakeboy and now you are down on Miller. You must be happy Jake is slumping. Does it validate your trashing him? And now Miller tries to do it on his own when his mate frustrate him, you might want to look at our captain, who's game is centered on doing it on his own, but he never takes minutes from your precious Brock, so I guess he is off your radar.
  4. I feel that about Miller too... until his post game interview last night. He sounds like he has joined the club
  5. no we won't first we'll see Pearson Bo Loui then if that doesn't work, Pearson bo Motte then Pearson Bo Gaudette weren't you paying attention?
  6. with a name like Straws, I always thought you would look like that ... oh wait , I have been pronouncing your name wrong all this time. Please accept my apology Stawns, do you mind if I keep thinking of you as Straws
  7. I am not sure I am following the dots here. I heard AV reference difficulty coaching JT in NY but you seem to be saying that JT just grew up on his own and that Stamkos taught him how to play harder are you saying he would be the same player he is today if he were never traded from NY? or the different surroundings in Tampa aided his growth?
  8. yes but maybe getting traded helped Miller focus maybe Tampa helped more than AV and the rangers ever would have lots of good players have been traded
  9. I've read that sentiment a few times on this board. Gaudette has 13 points in 22 games since new years. he had a 1/7 stint in early january and one other 3 game dry spell. Otherwise he has consistently put up points since mid January he is 12\15 pretty good for a rookie
  10. https://www.usedvictoria.com/classified-ad/Vancouver-Canucks-Quintology-Collection_33098241 are you talking about this?
  11. but we do have problems getting up for good teams. Remember getting spanked in Tampa and Boston? They got embarassed in Boston then got up for the rematch, while Boston did not. The problem is, they get tough when Petey gets roughed up, (which is better than not getting tough when Petey gets roughed up) and they get up after being embarassed, but what really needs to start happening is they need to take it to teams without re -acting. Run them over like Domi did Hughes before Domi runs Hughes, shut down Boston before Boston shuts us out 4-0. In this league the worst team can beat the best team, and the Canucks are not either. Sticking up for each other is one step and getting up for a team that embarassed you is another step getting up on teams and putting your foot to their throat is the next step.
  12. I just think Loui is a classic case of a player losing his hand He still thinks the game very well, and skates decently but puck on stick near the net? Loui has nothing to offer Loui regularly gets to the same spots in front of the net as Toffoli. Tofolli snipes, Loui misses the net it has gone pst slumping, I just think the hands are gone compare with Stan smyl and Trevor Linden Smyl 22 goals in his final 4 seasons, 10 goals in his last 3 seasons, 30-33 years of age Linden, 40 goals in his final 4 seasons, 26 in his last 3 years, 33-37 years of age Loui, 38 goals in his last 3.5 seasons, 31-34 ears of age Loui needs 2 goals to tie Trevor in goals over his last 4 season and he has passed Stan in the same time span. Unfortunately Loui is signed for 2 more years, so if he scores 5 goals in the next 2.25 seasons he will tie Stan Smyl's late career heroics equally unfortunate is Loui does not have the early career numbers as a Canuck to fall back on
  13. hmm following his dad, wonder if he gets traded to Columbus in 3 years
  14. yup, that is a not-tough guy trying to do tough guy things without any real intent meeting a real tough guy taking matters into his own hands. I said in another "we need to be tougher" thread, 'this team does not have the make up to play that way.' when they try it gets them off their game and this happens. nobody is/was threatened by Myers tough guy routine
  15. there comes a time when you need Brian Burke as your GM/ Pres. That was one of those times. Remember American tough guy reporter making fun of Sestito? That was a moment when Franco and Gillis needed to speak up and say "that ref should be out of the league" but no the Canucks backed down and next game Torts gets suspended the Canucks allowed the league to rag doll them again rather than exposing the league for the clowns they are. As a result we are forever the league whipping boys
  16. as we ROH and retire numbers of players that never won a cup in Vancouver, players and coaches that won the first ever game against the Habs deserve a look wasn't Phil also GM for a while
  17. I think using Boston is a poor example Boston is the polar oppposite of Vancouver with respect to falling in love with players and keeping them too long. which is to say Vancouver does and Boston does not Boston is leading the league and have traded (players still playing) J.Thornton, Kessell, Seguin, Hamilton, Lucic, Boychuck, Wheeler That is a better team than Vancouver has right now, and they don't always hit a home run with the picks they have garnered, but they do not dwell on the mistakes (Thornton) they just move on and keep winning Vancouver has made some good trades over the years, Butcher, Linden, Bertuzzi, Sundstrom, Stojanov, but the fans always seem to worry the next trade is the next Neely deal
  18. yes, I think that is the plan coach doesn't want to seem insecure... tries to display ego coach doesn't want to seem a slow thinker... tries to display pragmatism
  19. I don't get why you call it ego. He leans heavily on vets and doing everything the same. He does not have the faith or imagination to be a great coach. Its all systems and veteran experience. I don't honestly think the man has the capability of original thought you call it ego, I call it insecurity the guy oozes insecurity, the opposite of confidence
  20. totally agree except that arorgance is just masking his own insecurity imo
  21. I have been thinking that Gaud is similar to Bo Lite in that he does not really use his wingers. Similar to Sutter and Beagle also. So the team has 1 center who can set up plays That might come back to bite them at some point
  22. I don't I don't think every player reads this board, but it would not surprize me if Jake did. see my earlier comment about immaturity see jake fight after this board blows up over "no push back" I guess some one could ask him, haha
  23. \that was a terrible pass. but the Canucks in general use the point too often, (always) I think the fact no one ever plays in front of the net means throwing the puck to the net is just another give away 99% of the time, its puck to the point, which got Jake in trouble last night but got Huggy in trouble also( i think it was Bo who made that pass) and caused Hughes PP penalty
