  1. I'D PLAY THIS GAME BUT i'D NEED A WEEK TO COME ANYWHERE CLOSE TO REMEMBERING 80% of the bands i've seen. But I will say that Laurie Anderson is probably the best I have ever seen. 5PM on a Sunday afternoon and the whole feild of audience was pin drop quiet. Awe...some
  2. are you keeping score? I think I'm top 5
  3. that was actually pretty easy... once I put on my glass'
  4. social media use is a symtom not a cause. leaflets, TV, radio, loudspeakers, newspapers, churches, even town cries and speaker's corners have all had (or continue to have) their influence. Trump tweets while Churchill used radio

  6. Judges 5-24-27 24 Blessed above women shall Jeal the wife of heber the Kenite be, blessed shall she be above women in the tent. 25 He asked water, and she gave him milk; she brought forth butter in a lordly dish. 26 She put her hand to the nail, and her righthand tothe workmen's hammer; and with the hammar she smote Sisera, she smote off his head, when she had pierced and stricken through his temples. 27 At her feet he bowed, he fell, he layed down:at her feet he bowed, he fell: where he bowed, there he fell down dead.
  7. that is a great shot... looks like Burrows might have just heard something he has never heard before.
  8. why don't you check the date on that article? Its not only pre-Willie, its pre-Torts The Torts year was when the wear really started to show
  9. https://www.nhl.com/news/henrik-sedin-canucks-injuries/c-280283054 So I could retract the injury prone statement but it seems he was. Sure he didn't miss many games but he played injured, and he did not play well. There was a time when Hank was a legit Iron man, but not late in his career. He was a broken down player suiting up because the team was bad. I know many of you will cheer his tenacity but his effectiveness was lost due to age and injury, regardless of whether he did not miss games.
  10. this is so much smoke. If the Sedins were the best conditioned atheletes why were they also the slowest, injury prone and - players? Under Willie larger players were measured using the same stick as smaller players. Tryamkin and Sestito bring different elements than the Sedins, Running up the Grouse Grind was not their forte, they were treated poorly by Willie and Jim. I don't recall the Sedins sticking up for their teammates. What does it say about team culture when the coach cannot see the value of players differences?
  11. Back in my day... streakers were naked. Anyone have a clip of the two ladies streaing at a Canuck game about 1972? THAT was streaking!
  12. technically they did not they let his contract run out. \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\firing him should have happened during year 2
  13. I think the Leipsic-Gagner comparison is a good one, here is why. In his small sample size he score all 9 points in 6 games against non-playoff teams- NYR, NYI, Arizona, Chicago, Edmonton. He went -8 with 0 points against playoff teams- Nashville Minnisota, Vegas, LA, Anahiem,San Jose His -3 in 14 games pro-rates to -16.5 in 77 games similar to Gagners -18 in 74 games. These are not the fancy stats but the olds school ones less favored lately, but they point in the direction the Leipsic can be a star against bad opponents and a no-show against good ones. I hope he improves.
  14. Johnny was 21 when he entered the league, that same as J+J are now. StLouis was 25 before he had any effect and 27 when he had a break out year. I am not saying these guys will never make it, but the Caucks have a lot of small players, young players that have not developed physically to withstand the rigors of the NHL. Look at how many times Goldobin was sat on his butt in his first go round with the Canucks. This season he will be 23 by seasons start. Hopefully he is ready to play and stay on his skates. He looked better as last seson progressed.
  15. Wait a minute Pete. Didn't the Wonkee Willie years teach us anything? 2015, 5 preseason games earned Jake and Jarod spots on the big team. On Nov 8 Virtanen gets roughed up by Farmhand Farnham, damages his hand and doesn't score a point for 8 games. Nov 30 McCann gets it from Getzlaf and he doesn't score for 8 games. A fair bet those incidents derailed J+J's rookie seasons. The following year the only thing keeping the same from happening to Stechieboy is the rescue of Ryan Miller. Tough guys in the press box on IR or even on the bench will not stop this from happening again. Three years later Jake Virtanen looks like he may be ready to dominate this league physically, time will tell. Quinn Hughes is 5'10", the same as Alex Biega, but only 170# Elias Pettersson is 6'2', one inch taller than Jake, but only 161# Do you actually see these guys surviving an entire NHL season?
  16. what team do you see needs those players?
