  1. well that was fun while it lasted
  2. you know what old Scottie said, " Hockey is 75% goaltending, unless its bad goaltending, then its 100%"
  3. Do'h I was going for the tri-fecta
  4. who were wearing the A s? I remember Stevie in a donnybrook, I think he broke his hand submarine punching a guy on the ice.
  5. On this day the Canucks have released their "Hits of the Year " montage. I counted 19 hits, 7 of which I would call quality. Several are misses that are aided by choppy editing and enhanced sound effect, (you know, like when your buddy says, "doush doush doush" while mimicing a fight). Most of the hits are by Gubber, Try and Sbisa, a few from Dorsett and singles by Balls, Skills and Beartschi. That about explains "Team Toughness 2016-17 edition Canucks"
  6. Some terms I wish CDC would stop using: Team Toughness Grit Sandpaper and worst of all Pushback. Team Toughness is a left over from Nonis. When we had "team toughness" we had Byron Ritchie, Brad Isbister and Matt Cooke. Does anyone really want to go back to that? Grit is what you paint on your stairs so your shoes don't slip. Sandpaper falls apart when it gets used and especially when it gets wet. Pushback is what happens when you are already being pushed, hoping for a net "0" outcome. I would prefer: Aggression, which is toughness with intent, initiation, hitting, taking the lead in rough play. Aggression is Ferland hitting every Canuck on every play, Marchand punching Daniel until Daniel takes a penalty, Matt Martin, Sean Thornton, Donald Brashear, Ryan Reeves doing what they do best. Push, rather than pushback, our old friend Burkie calls it truculence. If someone invites you to a street fight, what are you going to do, go out to the shed and reach for a stack of your best 80 grit? Darn it the other guy showed up with a sledge hammar.
  7. I don't recall where Calgary was in the standings at the time, but I'm thinking the return on a #6 pick would have been pretty good for them
  8. seriously, couldn't they have asked Calgary to trade him?

Probably different platforms look a bit different. But on my desktop computer there is a "+" sign in the lower left part of each post. If I click on the "+" sign, the word "multiquote" appears, that quote is stored and a box saying "quote 1 post" appears in the lower right of the screen. I can click on more "+" signs and the number in the box on the lower right of the screen goes up. When I am ready to respond I click on that box (that by now would say "quote n posts" where n is the number of posts I have clicked on.  Then the reply box appears at the bottom on the screen as usual.

      Hope it works for you.
