  1. I would be more worried about the 11.5 year age difference
  2. you really have not been paying attention to Boston since about 1976 have you?
  3. former Ref? Isn't that Tim Peel disgraced former ref "I wanted to make the call" into a hot mike Dude's credible
  4. that is the most succinct analysis of ol Jim's performance
  5. I just recently watched A Clockwork Orange When I had to read it in college, the prof issued a dictionary of lingo used in the book I think it might be useful for someone to start and dictionary of terms used by Alf to help the new readers on this site Craperolla - not good, bad, unskilled Dumperoo - unceremoniously removed from the team for those having trouble following along at home, you are welcome
  6. the guy was on Donnie and Dahli they asked him a question, what do you expect his answer to be, "Travis Green is trash, he created a dumpster fire in Vancouver... he's the last guy we ever want to hire!!!"? that answer sounded like diplomacy and not much real interest Maybe they hope some other club will jump at TG
  7. that is pretty funny given what the organization has done in the last 8-10 years
  8. Meanwhile I show that you are using old logic regarding the new hires Every person that has any job in the NHL has more experience than I do, that does not make them all automatically good at their jobs your reasoning is flawed whether I bring up JB and TG or not We have a very experienced president, but many below him are new at their jobs just because they were good at their old jobs does not make it a slam dunk that they will be good at their new jobs
  9. Might want to add, Deslaurier and Greenway, Jeannot, Keith, Marner and Mathews, Kadri (as mentioned), Chara, Joe Thornton ( he hasn't retired yet?)
  10. that is the same argument used to defend JB and TG
  11. weird that you pick that comment to comment on. Alf is good for one solid comment per week and you are ripping him for it. haha
  12. didn't Keenan start in Philly? seems perfectly symmetrical
  13. .what Canuck fans consider immensely successful fans of successful teams think of as an afterthought NHL Totals 515 51 76 2014-15 Vancouver Canucks NHL 79 7 18 25 175 4 6 0 0 0 20 2015-16 Vancouver Canucks NHL 71 5 11 16 177 -13 -- -- -- -- -- 2016-17 Vancouver Canucks NHL 14 1 3 4 33 -6 -- -- -- -- -- 2017-18 Vancouver Canucks NHL 20 7 2 9 74 -1 -- -- -- -- -- , 2017-18 Vancouver Canucks NHL 15 2 0 2 4 -1 2017-18 Utica Comets AHL 2 0 0 0 2 -2 5 2 0 2 2 2018-19 Vancouver Canucks NHL 74 9 7 16 10 -12 -- -- -- -- -- 2019-20 Vancouver Canucks NHL 34 4 4 8 10 -10 17 4 1 5 2 2020-21 Vancouver Canucks NHL 24 6 3 9 14 0 -- -- -- -- -- 2021-22 Vancouver Canucks NHL 49 7 8 15 22 3 that is a combined 8 seasons (not counting the 15 games after coming at the trade deadline) 3 seasons over 70 games While I would not classify either as immensely successful they were more successful than Ferland and Poolman and about on par with Sven Baertschi
  14. It might be, but maybe the important cog is Ian Clark Since Demko was drafted in the second round 2014 five other starters were drafted in that draft , including Sorokin, Nedeljkovic, and Shesterkin Oettinger was drafted in 2017 This is not to say I am unhappy with Demko, but finding goalies is maybe not as hard as it once was, or maybe 2014 was just a really good year for goalies in the draft, 2015 and 16 have produced no starters
  15. How are these poll results a joke? its within 60-40 are you saying everyone is wrong? Some of us do see a kicking motion, probably comes down to what you consider a kick is a sweep a kick or does it have to be a toe punch to be a kick? 2010 has nothing to do with todays rules - rules change if a puck is high sticked, but was going to go in anyway should that count? this is a joke, but so are some of the NHL rules
  16. its probably no for me too the Loser Point takes the cake for me also the glove pass (in the D-zone only) I thought we wanted more goals and shoveling the puck under/ passing to your goalie, who freezes the puck, I thought we wanted more goals the quick whistle, I thought.. I don't mind the trapezoid, but it is a bandaid to protect the Mike Smiths of the world, I blame Andy Moog really but I agree with you, goalies get too much protection while roaming
  17. Oh, not true there will be more "Kicking motion " calls at the most inappropriate times my poll question would be "Is this the stupidest rule in the league?" I know there is some competition but it is up there
