  1. I don't trust any proposal that ends with Highmore Lammikko Lockwood
  2. Miller + Poolman + first for Carlo and Lysell
  3. I don't think the Bruins have ever rebuilt, They tank occasionally and they retool they tanked in 1997 but drafted Joe THornton 1st and Samsonov at #8 and rebounded the next season That #8 pick was acquired by trading Glen Wesley in 1994 for 2 firsts they later traded THornton they traded Phil Kessel for 2 first Lucic for a 1st + and Hamilton for a first and two 2nds the Bruins are the masters of the retool but are not rebuilders
  4. Crouse would be awesome and why wouldn't they want a first or more he is a 1st round pick with 7 years development He is just now ready to contribute relative to his draft position
  5. Antenna TV - The Iffin song! - Bing video whole lotta iffin in that scenario
  6. Well, no that is still Arizona But Vegas is making a play for the title
  7. whoa I taped the game, and the recording stopped in the hand shake line Go Flames
  8. how about that? Did they? there must be some stats isn't that just what we are talking about? The fitness gurus just got themselves fired maybe the fitness tests specifically designed to test the fitness of nhl hockey players? were not good enough maybe they were skewed? that was my point this is getting boring I just hope the next crew come up with some better initiatives, better tests, better programs I hope it is better than the Grouse Grind and better than the bag skate, because I think both were aimed at embarrassing and dividing the players. Look at last year, the Bag Skate happened, causing Oli to have a fall out with other players, and the season tumbled down hill from there You might have to admit, that the Bag Skate was a bad look for all the players, whether it was Oli playing dead in the corner or his team mate trying to get him to sit up, it was a bad look
  9. Nope, just another example of you keying on one line of a statement and getting your knickers in a twist about it and feeling the need to defend your boys without even really trying to read the whole statement I never said the Sedins were not fit I questioned whether the Grouse Grind was the best fitness test As you have said, they ran it on their own time, So I don't see it as a fair test with other teammates, clearly the Sedins had "Home Field advantage" As I said earlier, it you have some proof of the Sedins using this as a team building exercise I'd like to see it.
  10. Thank you and yes I have been told that before I also have nice legs, but I know if it were to come down to the Grind that my knees would let me down its sad, but true
  11. .Below is an example of "Team Building" And I don't have any problem with this sort of thing Canucks prospects conquer the 'Grouse Grind' - Sportsnet.ca But as I recall, although I cannot find any video evidence, so maybe I have it all wrong, is that the Sedins "Won" the Grouse Grind several years running and were proclaimed the fittest Canucks. Anybody want to confirm or repute that? I don't recall it being a "Team Building " exercise, but more of a competition. Again I am open to being corrected if anyone has evidence to the contrary. If that is the case, and Deb has already pointed out that it was a regular thing for the Sedins, it seems to me to be a "rigged event", home field advantage as it were I don't recall any "Team Spirit" being shown when Tom Sestito, (likely the slowest up the hill) was being embarrassed by Lord Willie Wonka. the above video shows Nikky T struggling, so I am going to guess and say perhaps Gudbranson, Sestito and other heavy weights had trouble. Maybe Luke Schenn would become the next victim if it were to go again this year. But I think the Grouse Grind was actually dropped in favour of T Green's famous bag skate. That event didn't show much bonding going on last year did it? But if anyone has video of the Sedins encouraging their mates up the hill, I will be happy to change my tune
  12. No I am not confusing strength with fitness I have worked with many a bigger BeefCakey muscle man who I have had to tuck into bed and the end of the day. So I know who you are talking about. however I am the Hank Sedin of my crew, the smart one who doesn't get injured because I out think the need for brawn, I am also the strongest but not the biggest Its that thing we like to call "Old Man Strength" haha But I digress, what I have is stamina Could I be fitter, yup could I be stronger, yup what I have is industry specific muscles, they won't help me on skates and won't help me with the Grouse Grind Which gets us back to my original thought, How does being the Grouse Grind champs help a hockey player?
  13. Sure why don't we see if the Sedins can put in a 12 hour day moving furniture I'd be willing to give them a shot I got +20 years on those guys, but would be willing to bet they couldn't keep up to me for a weeks work But you know it would be fun I'd totally give it a go can you arrange it?
  14. I overlooked more than just them Who was there to take on Scott Thronton in 2011? Bieksa? Oreskovich?
  15. I read a story once where Gordie Howe went on a prolonged slump, you know about 4 games for him, It turned out that he had taken up swimming as a work out regime It was later decided that swimming was not the correct work out for a hockey player \So why don't you go do the Grouse Grind on your bicycle with a backpack fun of selfrightiousness, then swim the channel and come back and tell us how relevant the experience was to what ever it is that you do Gordie stopped swimming and started scoring again
  16. IDK you know trying to quantify Lightnning in a Bottle is a little dicey Look at Vegas' 2017-18 roster and tell me it was the second best team in the league. Maybe it was their coach, but 2 years later he was fired
  17. I gave you a teddy bear because we don't have a Gino Emoje. We were pretty tough in the 80s but lacked the skill pretty tough again during the Quinn era, Gino, Sergio, Hunter, Antoski, Peca... then we traded Peca for Almo and have been pretty soft ever since In recent times we seem to feel the need to fill the tough guy spot with young men went to the finals with Oreskovich, who was not suited to play hockey let alone patrol the 4th line in the playoff. the next year we had 20 year old Zack Kassian, I think I'd rather have 31 year old ZK Then Dorsett who was just small Then Jake, haha mis-cast on so many levels Now its Highmore, or is it Lammikko, or Lockwood, or Richardson. If its Richardson at least he isn't 20 years old Maybe its Petan edit, this is the team that Chose Bobby Lalonde over Larry Robinson so it goes back to 1971
  18. HE is probably the only player to lead the league in scoring and have four 11 goal seasons I'm just not sure whose fancy stats are more relevant and did you mention speed? was he the fastest player on the team? Strength, was he the strongest player on the team? was he the most oxygen efficient player on the team? I'll give you endurance, his ironman streak proves that one I wonder how Phil Kessel would do on the Grouse Grind?
  19. That is a funny take. I always thought that the Grouse Grind was a rather lame "Tradition" aimed at inflating the Sedin's ego Is that really the best way to gauge fitness? More a part of the problem than the solution Some folks around these parts act like the Sedins are the Canuck version of Rod the Bod but I am not one of those peops is there any other metric that suggests the Sedins were super fit? Or is it just the Grouse Grind?
