Exactly this. Doing the bare minimum court order is fine, if you're not seeking employment in an area that only "the best of the best" get into. Had he not been an athlete and got a full ride scholarship to "insert school here" based on his superior academics, nothing would have occurred. But, understandably so, this situation is much different. The issue is precisely because he did the bare minimum, court ordered mandate, and is a very talented athlete. One that should be going above and beyond (continued to volunteer, more apologies, etc). What's very telling is that most teenagers/children won't just do this on their own. They need, like most people, a positive nudge in order to do so. The fact that his parents didn't drive this home to him during that time is disappointing. I understand parenting is hard, and it's certainly not my place to shame them. We take responsibility for our own actions and can positively influence those in our network circles to be better versions of ourselves. Unfortunately, this was lost on Mitchell Miller for most of his life and formative development years, resulting in a kid who was forced to be the victim of atrocious acts of bullying.

Flyers team is open to anyone on CDC who, for whatever reason, decides to come creep into the thread. I know the odds of someone lurking and sifting through pages of trades and sim updates is low, as would be their interest level after seeing just sim updates and trades posted. Not much discussion happens here. Even less in PMs, as the only things there are agreements to trades. But it is fun, though. If anyone happens to see this and isn't apart of the league, please PM some here.

Lol. Well of course better than dying of Covid. But what I was saying was that I'm not going to be an a$$hole to a some stranger. And more often than not, from what I've seen when people engage with strangers over this, it ends up with shouting, shaming, etc. The conversation might start out with the intention of being calm and collect, but it rarely ends up that way. Why? Because strangers aren't asking for someone else's opinion on something they didn't ask for.

That won't ever happen. There are many reasons why that's the case, but the short answer is, that will never happen. If masks are made mandatory? Fine. My responsibility is to obey government and the laws. But history has shown that laws don't stop people from doing things. So there will always be people not wearing masks.

I agree, and like everyone, I'm sure she's well aware that she has the choice to wear or not wear a mask, much like I have the choice to wear one. Doesn't make me a better or worse person, doesn't make her a better or worse person. We're both obeying the laws, and me telling her to wear or not wear one won't change things.

No, because I don't know their life, nor will I presume to. It's not mandated, only encouraged at point, she can choose not to, and it's not my place to think less of her because of it. She's a human being, not a piece of garbage, or a "d-bag" as you so eloquently put it. Not in my eyes.

Unless it's mandated at the business or out in public, we'll continue to see that. Is what it is. Standing next to someone at a Chinese restaurant right now who's not wearing one. Doesn't bother me and won't shame her or think less of her for not wearing one.

Don't think this makes me a lot better, but I didn't have many moves left, at this point.
