  1. This would make no sense for Calgary. Sure, Lucic would help come playoff time, but that price tag, along with Russell’s coming back, put them back to exactly where they are now, which is a team trying to find the cap space to extend both Tkachuk and Bennett.
  2. If you sign Nail Yakupov, then you have a bangin’ lineup.
  3. Not cooking, yet, but in late August my father and I are going on a barge in Northern BC to go Salmon, Halibut, and Cod fishing for 4 days. Will be coming back with roughly 100lbs of fish. Going to be cooking a lot (and giving away) or fish. Yum! Yum!
  4. Either I’m not making any progress, or I’m not stretching enough between and after my workouts. Every Friday I do lunges, and my thighs are killing me for days on end. I know lunges are killer, but I’m pretty sure not stretching properly is doing it.
  5. Calgary Movement: Recall: Vitali Kravtsov and place on active roster. @canuck2xtreme
  6. Zero empathy for that guy. Aside from the fact that he was a scumbag (see: choking his coach), that sense of entitlement clearly backfired on him.
  7. Chernobyl - Episode 1 Woah. Heard great things, but this is unreal. Must watch.
  8. This reminds me of Latrell Sprewell’s quote on the 3 year $21 million dollar offer from the Timberwolves: On October 31, 2004, the Minnesota Timberwolves offered Sprewell a 3-year, $21 million contract extension, substantially less than what his then-current contract paid him. Claiming to feel insulted by the offer, he publicly expressed outrage, declaring, “I have a family to feed If Glen Taylor wants to see my family fed, he better cough up some money. Otherwise, you're going to see these kids in one of those Sally Struthers commercials soon. Sprewell turned it down and never received another NBA contract. Where is he now? Bankrupt.
  9. To be fair to Nylander, it’s not as if he’s that overpaid. He was coming off two consecutive 61 point seasons. If he is overpaid, it was maybe by $500k-$750k. That small amount isn’t what is making extending Marner the issue. The problem, even though he is a great player and worth the money, is the Tavares contract. No team can keep all their terrific players and pay them accordingly. They want to keep Marner and pay him what he’s worth (as he deserves), then one of Tavares or Matthews would have to go. And that would also ensure they try and ice a competitive playoff roster as well, as their defence can’t bail them out come playoff time when they’re top heavy on the first 2 lines. It is in their best interest to either trade Marner or get an offer sheet and take the compensation, because matching would likely mean they don’t have a balanced lineup. But, as I’ve said many times before, what do I know. I’m no hockey mind, just some schlub.
  10. There’s nothing I miss about living in the Lower Mainland. Visiting? Absolutely. Definitely a preference for people, and I much prefer the country life in MB to city living anywhere. Can always visit a city, and do. So much more relaxed and at peace away from it all, though.
  11. Huh, it’s almost like you know about animals.
  12. Devante Smith Pelly available for cheap
  13. Homemade stuffed crust pizza. Pepperoni and maple bacon toppings. But this whole thing was a masterpiece. Dough made from scratch was a garlic dough I made (oregano and garlic cloves added). Brushed the crust after I took it out of the oven with garlic butter. This may have been the best pizza I’ve ever eaten.
  14. Safe contract should/when he ultimately comes down to Earth.
  15. Yes, I’ve had four. Currently have two. 3 of which have been/are show dogs.
  16. Yeah, the nerve of keeping an animal in check Can someone tell me if this guy is for real?
  17. Absolutely. But that doesn’t mean it’s “wrong”, just because some people think it should be changed. When the overwhelming majority of society/world think otherwise, it’s not time to change said laws. Now, is this something that could change in the future? Absolutely. But honestly, not until it stops making money. I mean, and let’s be serious here, everyone knows that cigarettes are terribly unhealthy. And something that doesn’t just effect the individual. But, why does it remain legal? Because it makes a lot of money. The Stampede won’t stop. Why? Because it brings in boatloads if money to Alberta from around the world, not just from Canadians. People can think that the law needs to change in regards to the Stampede. But when it brings in loads of tourists from not only other provinces, but from dozens of countries throughout the world that don’t see it as an issue (and neither from the Stampedes sponsors), it’s not changing.
  18. Because some people aren’t you. People are different and *shocker* that doesn’t mean what they do and/or enjoy are “wrong”, especially when it’s not against any law.
