  1. Also, need a discord invite. Just in case.
  2. I won’t know for sure what the direction of the team is, but will look to make a significant impact as soon as I can. Aaron Ekblad, Alex Iaffalo, Sebastian Aho, Connor Hellebyuck, Sebastian Aho, and Nick Schmaltz are significant RFAs that will need immediate attention to be signed. That said, they are very much available and can be had for this upcoming draft. Here are some other players that are definitely available for draft picks: Pavel Buchnevich Tyler Toffoli Bo Horvat Dylan Larkin No player is currently off limits, though. Want to make my mark. Reach out and let’s get some trades done before the draft!
  3. Good to be back. Statement coming in a few seconds
  4. Baby Driver Watched it in the theatre originally, and have been spending the last couple days watching it again, but meticulously this time. Man, is this film a masterclass in editing. Literally everything in the film is linked up to the music, even when the actors blink their eyes to the beat. Unbelievable. I appreciated the movie before, but this time around is just crazy. Edgar Wright really set the bar high here. As much as I love his other movies, this is easily the best of the bunch, now. Which is saying something.
  5. Can’t wait to see that player’s reaction at the draft.
  6. If Taylor Hall got them Adam Larsson, then Jesse Puljujarvi will get them, what, Fredrik Claesson?
  7. Unless that defenseman is just as marketable and sells jerseys like Laine, that won’t happen.
  8. Heard this a few minutes ago. He’ll be signed immediately a relatively modest sum by a contender to play on a third line.
  9. The New York Islanders will be moving two of the following: Joel Armia Radek Faksa Lars Eller Michael Frolik All offers considered.
  10. Well, the shelf life of GMs isn’t too long. Their goal is to win. Quite honestly, they don’t care about, what will likely be, someone else’s problem in 5 years, if the team doesn’t succeed. If they do and make it far into the playoffs or win the Cup, they don’t care about those last few years.
  11. That is some rough news. I hate to say it, as I want the guy to succeed (why wouldn’t I), but I don’t think he’ll make it. Really feel for the guy.
  12. I don't know. Never say never, but if one of the reasons teams (and the Jets are shopping Ehlers) is because how friendly his cap hit is, the exact opposite would apply to Laine. Right now, and probably for the rest of his career, Laine is not a sound player defensively. He's not as bad as people have said, as he was one of the better Jets in the playoffs this year, and was good defensively. However, he doesn't have the speed of an Ehlers to "jet" back into his own zone. But, even though he'll cost $9M-$10M to extend long term, there's the "It" factor of having a player like him on your club, which is why the Jets will keep him, and also why other teams (regardless of the contract) would also pay through the nose to get him. That other factor, aside from the the obvious ones (ie: shot, PP, goals), is that he puts butts in seats and his name sells jersey's. At the end of the day, only one team wins the Stanley Cup, so the odds aren't in any club's favor that "This will be the year." So GMs knowing that, while wanting to put a competitive enough product on the ice to make it to the playoffs, also know that the season is 82 games long. How to do you get fans to show up to game 51 and buy merchandise, especially when the team isn't firing on all cylinders? I'll tell ya, for years, that's why I've gone to Jets games. Even when they've crapped the bed, I know that at the very least, Byfuglien will do something that will make it worth my money. I'd wager that's why they don't trade Patrik Laine. He does the same thing. You pay attention when he's on the ice, and he'll sell jerseys. As talented as Ehlers is, as responsible as he is defensively, and as nice as his contract is, he doesn't have that "It" factor.
  13. Good for both teams, but definitely like this for the Flyers. Very quickly going to turn things around.
  14. People who don’t watch the Jets, or Ehlers regularly, think he’s a one dimensional player, which he certainly isn’t. The guy not only has elite skill and skating, but he’s very reliable defensively. The reason why the Jets are actually shopping him is because his contract is so attractive to teams looking for a player like him.
  15. The Jets are much higher on Kyle Connor than Ehlers, and Connor has passed him on the depth chart. He’ll cost about $8M to extend long term, so Ehlers is the odd man out. More importantly, Ehlers contract is still an extreme bargain at $6M per, so the fact that Carolina (and other teams have been calling), is not shocking. Long story short, trading Ehlers makes sense, for them. And they can certainly address their 2nd pair with him as the primary.
  16. People in Winnipeg were thrilled that Bogo was shipped out. Among his injuries, he had another nasty off-ice habit that didn’t sit well with his teammates or the organization.
  17. Don’t really care. I care as much about this as I do about the Florida Panthers or the Arizona Coyotes.
  18. I really enjoyed Old Man & the Gun. Apparently, it’s Robert Redford’s swan song. Should be, considering he’s 140 years old.
  19. It’s Erik Karlsson, which means the Sharks won’t regret signing him.
