Elite Keeper League 2019/2020 -[4 GM Positions Available]
Monty replied to Relyt Krets's topic in Fantasy Hockey
Was deciding between him and Beecher. At the end of the day, Beecher seemed like the safer choice. Although, not as talented offensively. -
Minnesota Wild select... John Beecher @Art Vandelay

Now that the NHL season is officially over, now it’s time for the REAL season to begin. Love me some off-season drama. Come on IRL Leafs/Dubas, how are you going to explain yourselves out of this problem?

Congrats @maroe and @Watermelons!

Godzilla: King of the Monsters I like a Godzilla movie, aside from the Matthew Broderick one. Always makes me smile, as it’s pure shlock. Couple good “monster v. monster” fights. The last one was smile worthy, for sure. The one weakness, which is the same in all these Godzilla movies, is time focused on the generic human story that’s shoehorned in. Otherwise, fun shlock when the monsters are on the screen.

If straight up, not sure what Philly is thinking. Also, and I’m no expert, but I thought Philly really needed help on the right side for defence. Unless their plan is to sign Tyler Myers in free agency and bolster their depth by going for Byron or Shaw.

Definitely not the biggest rap fan, more a hip-hop fan. But even then, not huge. But in the 90s, I listened to A LOT of the Beastie Boys and old school hip-hop from the 80s/early 90s. This song by Erik B and Rakim is easily in my top 10 favourite hip-hop songs, maybe top 5.

So in 3 weeks, I’ve gone down from 175 to 174. Down a total of 20 pounds, now. But not upset or disappointed by my slowdown in weight loss, as that was never the point. I’m more worried about the fact that I nearly sh*t my pants doing Russian Twists at the gym 5 minutes ago. That would have been pretty gross/embarrassing. Talk about a new low.

Carolina Hurricanes Draft Recap: 31st Overall Patrik Puistola Patrik is all skill. Phenomenal hands, great playmaking, and a really good (but not great) shot. Average skating, though. But at 18, he has time to work on it. 52nd Overall Michal Teply Teply is bad at one thing, skating. But he has an NHL ready shot. Had my eye on him for a few months, so he was always on my radar with a late second. I was waffling between him and one other. But in the end, went with the guy I followed a little closer. 71st Overall Domenick Fensore I mean, really? Ok, so I knew this was a reach. But I also knew there were guys who were going to select him in the 4th. And sometimes you just like someone and want them, despite it being a huge risk. Fensore can do everything. Except he’s small. Really, really small for a defenseman. He’s playing for Boston College, though, which is always a positive. Should he get selected IRL, please be selected by a decent team, and not Edmonton or Arizona. 76th Overall Mattias Norlinder This was who I should have selected with my 71st pick, but instead went with Fensore. After realizing my mistake even before I made the section, I subsequently did what I had to to get another pick and pick Norlinder. Quick defenseman with great edge work. 126th Overall Connor Dewar Drafted by the Wild last year in the 3rd round, now signed to his ELC and will play in the AHL next season. Wasn’t aware of Connor until about a month ago. Didn’t expect him to drop to the 5th. Knew I needed to get a pick to snatch him up. 154th Overall Tyler Tucker After my gaff and having to reselect, went with my second choice. Also, had briefly thought about using (when I had two seconds before trading up for a first) one of my second round picks on Tucker. Concerned about his sudden spike in production this year. However, also can’t ignore it. He’s only 19 and the Blues appear to be high on him. He’ll play one more year in the OHL, so he’ll have time to prove if last season was an anomaly or not. Overall, really pleased with my draft.

With the 154th pick of the 2019 NHL draft, the Carolina Hurricanes select, from the Barrie Colts... Tyler Tucker @JE14 / @Nail

Whenever I think about Hillary Swank, that’s the first thing that comes to mind. Well, that and...

Let’s finish the draft. Today.

I like your other selections before these guys, but really like Tieksola and especially Koster.

I Am Mother New Netflix film, starring some actress I’ve never heard of, Hillary Swank, and Rose Byrne as the voice of the robot “Mother”. I really don’t want to give away too much on this. But from what you’d see from the preview, girl stars as “Daughter” and Rose Byrne (robot) stars as “Mother”. After humanity has been destroyed due to disease, Daughter has been raised as the first person from an embryo by “Mother”, with 65,000 more embryos in stasis, ready to be raised to restart humanity. However, as the girl nears adulthood, Hillary Swank comes into play from outside the facility. That’s what you’d see in the preview. I echo all reviews that have been said, which are all overwhelmingly positive. The story is great, the acting is great, the writing and directing is great. The robot, which was designed and done by Weta (came to prominence after Peter Jackson’s LoTR trilogy), so that terrific. The first 2/3 of the movie are really solid. Once the last but comes in, I was really hoping it wasn’t going where I thought it was, which was rather predictable. You watch the film essentially from “Daughter’s” POV, so you’re not who’s story to trust, Hillary Swank’s or “Mother’s”. Was hoping for a little different ending, but it was satisfying enough. Would definitely recommend. I will say that the preview is misleading. Makes it seem like it turns into some type of action/horror film. Which it’s neither of these things, at all. Oh yeah, WTF happened to Hillary Swank’s career?

[Official] 2018-19 Minor Signings Thread
Monty replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
When you’re a consistent non-playoff team, losing any prospects is not cause for celebration. Bruins have little to worry about. -
Jenner and Ferland for my 5th. Send it in!

8 more picks and we’re done the draft. Could finish it up today, knowing which GMs are remaining.

@Patrick Kane

Nope, you have to do your last pick over again. Walsh is a free agent, as per Nail. Choose your next American bust.

@Boeserific to pick again @Patrick Kane up after
