Question 1: Why is it that you won a Stanley Cup with Nick Lidstrom, Brian Rafalski, and Niklas Kronwall on defense, but not Morgan Rielly, Jake Gardiner, and Nikita Zaitsev? Question 2: How come you handed second line winger William Nylander a $6.9M per contract? Question 3: Why did you tell Nazem Kadri to cross check someone in the face? Question 4: It’s obvious to anyone with half a brain that this roster is imbalanced, and the fault lies on Kyle Dubas and Brendan Shanahan to construct a lineup that is balanced. So my question is, why is this all your fault? Question 5: Why do you give me, Luke Fox, a voice for people to listen to, when clearly I have zero credibility?

As long as Mrazek avoids Sami Salo for the next few hours, this series is mine! On another front, our new baby is due today, and the doctor said she wouldn’t be surprised if my wife went into labor this evening (same thing happened last time). So, I’ll be out of commission for a little bit. But considering my totally healthy addiction to CDC, I’ll be back on pretty soon after, with pics.

Gotta say, I’m rarely proud of myself, but I’m ecstatic about my health and fitness over the last 5 weeks. Have gone down from 194 to 182. However, I’m eating more than enough and not cutting out everything that makes life enjoyable. Just doing it in moderation. Calories in-calories out, sustainable, and realistic long term. I can tell I’ve gained significant muscle, which is really new for me. I’ve always throughout my life only done cardio, so my circuit training has been a pleasant change; one I still hope to be doing in 6 months. My arms feel strong, and when I’m not flexing, either lol. My clothes fit a lot better. But what trumps all the above, because I know they’re all connected, is that my mental health, happiness, and confidence have increased dramatically. Wasn’t that any of those things were out of line or in trouble before, but I just feel great.

(Speculation) 3 way trade to land PK Suban
Monty replied to Gator's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
That defence looks so good, it might win a game in the first round. -

Currently, the Hurricanes have four picks in the 5th round, and a “hidden” 2nd round pick that has an Eric Comrie factor (trade to be announced on July 27th). Happy with my picks this coming draft. As usual, though, looking for more. Now, my pending UFA’s above (see post) can have their rights traded (and we can structure the trade to be a conditional pick, should the player sign). Roster players we can discuss trading right now. Going to reassess in more detail after playoffs are over, but I’m open to moving majority of players, not named Laine, Kotkaniemi, and Hart. Most prospects are available, as well. Obviously some have higher value than others (Bowers, Ukko-Pekka, Perunovich, Barre-Boulet).

Take the best blue liner available. They rarely get to free agency, so solving that problem long term is unlikely going that route, especially at a reasonable price tag. Personally, because Byram is long gone by 10, you go for Soderstrom, assuming he’s available. If he’s gone, you reach a little and take Thomas Harley. Again, personal opinion, which means nothing. But go for defense.

As @D-Money put it to me last night, “that's about as likely as Labanc and Couture combining for 6 PP points in the 3rd period of a 3-0 game...“
-
-
Pretty sure Pirri has even forgot about himself.
-
13 points ahead. Couture or Lebanc get the OT winner. Eller sh*ts the bed tomorrow. Monty kills himself.
-
If this actually happens, I’m offing myself.

Only way I have a prayer in the second round is if Mike V goes through, and the following happens: Toronto beats Boston Carolina beats Washington San Jose beats Vegas If that happens, I have a chance beating him in the second round. If Lahey wins? Oof. We’re all donzo.

Watched the recent episode. Much like episode one of this season, if it were in season 3 or 4, they would have been filler and forgettable (as they already are). Although, it had the beats of a tv show. Opening credits, beginning, middle, end, and a cliff hanger. So in that respect, I guess it’s a 10/10.

Banking on me? That’s awfully bold.

I honesty didn’t watch most of the series. Been too busy. But from what I did watch, Buff was the best player for the Jets; although, as usual, his defensive play was suspect. However, his offence more than made up for it. He was the difference maker he’s paid and expected to be. Again, I didn’t watch the entire series, but the Jets as a whole were not very good or deserving to win. Now, word has come out that Laine has been dealing with a groin and lower back issues for the last two seasons, which contributed to his decreased production. Ehlers suffered an injury in game 5, though I’m not sure what his excuse has been the last season. Tanev suffered a broken finger and had a screw in it, but his play was as consistent as it usually was. Long story short, the Jets limped into the playoffs and most (fans) expected them to get ousted in the first round. The Blues peaked at the right time and predictably walked all over them.

Said it before. After being in Kolkata almost two months ago, I’m shocked he survived landing there. More amazing that he had enough memories at the age of 5 to piece together how to track his mom down. Unreal.
