High Life Robert Pattinson has really been on a role. Cosmopolis, The Rover, the excellent and phenomenal Good Time (one of my favs), and now High Life. It gets a little graphic at one point, so avoid watching with children. Otherwise, very interesting film. I went in knowing little about it, except that it took place in space.

New Chemical Brothers album. Being in my late 30s, electronic music really isn’t my jam anymore. However, Chemical Brothers really bring me back to being a teenager, and are great to workout to. Their new album is great.

Finished week 5 of my circuit workout. Didn’t lose (or gain) any week this week. On one hand, I’m discouraged because prior to this week, I lost 11 pounds, so not losing any this week is frustrating. However, I also know I’m putting on muscle, so chances are I lost fat while putting on some muscle; at least, I hope this was the case. I haven’t been eating unhealthy at all (ie: no pop, no alcohol, no chips, no sweets) this entire time. My meal portions are very reasonable, as well. I’m not so ridiculous with my diet that I won’t enjoy life, either. We had burgers yesterday, but it’s not an everyday occurrence. Long story short, I’m eating well.

Carolina Hurricanes Due to having Carter Hart, Casey DeSmith, and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, goaltender Mike Smith will not be extended. However, his UFA rights are available to the first to offer a 3rd round pick, or a few late round picks. Derek Ryan, my team captain and personal favourite, is also available to the first to offer a 3rd round pick or a few late round picks.

New Charlie’s Angels movie will be releasing within the year. How come they didn’t do this one with an “all male” cast? I thought Hollywood liked the gender swap, reboot movies.

Ian Mitchell traded to Ottawa for their 2020 first round pick.

The announcement was then, they didn’t have a team on the ice until the following season. Thus, no on ice team to cheer for. And many players on the Canucks roster spent time in Winnipeg (ie: Schneider, Kesler, Burrows, Edler). Winnipeg fans of the Moose and the Canucks were very much aware and followed the Canucks. If you’re a child, I guess it is, yeah. I like all hockey teams. Doesn’t matter the city. I like watching entertaining hockey. Makes me a more balanced person, and a grown up. Why would I cry about it?

That’s all he ever posts about them. His reasoning is, “because they didn’t cheer for us in 2011.” You know, when Winnipeg didn’t have an NHL team, but the Moose were the AHL affiliate of the Canucks, and many in the province followed the Canucks because of this. Trust me, all posts of his pertaining to the Jets will include “Jests” in them. Because that’s funny, right?

100 points separate me and @winterhawks While I no longer have Panarin, Letang, Coburn, Aston Reese, Pulock, and Lee playing, I feel confident that I can keep my lead now that I don’t have to worry about Malkin, Point, Gourde, and Paquette

The Washington Capitals have extended forward Mitch Marner to a 5 year contract, worth $50M ($10M AAV). @Squeak @Nail

I find it difficult to bet against Mike V. The guy never loses.

(Proposals) Trading up at Draft for 3rd or 4th overall.

The Jets don’t have a first round pick this year. -
5 goals against? I’d be worried, but the Flames aren’t giving Smith any support.

[Proposal] 10th overall + ???? for Jacob Trouba?
Monty replied to Hindustan Smyl's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Definitely. But if you’re the Jets (and their fans), what’s better, have to trade Kyle Connor because you can’t afford to keep him, Laine, and Trouba, or keep Connor and Laine, trade Trouba for a haul, and save money? Sucks that they have to move him, but the great thing for Winnipeg is that it won’t decimate their team. They’ll still be great. -

They need a LHD. There’s been speculation for a while that Philly would be the perfect trading partner for them. Philly has Ghost, Provorov, and Sanheim on the left side, and their best RHD is Gudas, who’s a pending UFA. Makes sense not their part. As for Winnipeg, they are really high on Jonathan Kovacevic (just finished college and signed) and Dylan Samberg (just won his second straight college National championship). Kovacevic is a natural RHD, whereas Samberg has played both sides in the past. Long story short, Trouba won’t extend in Winnipeg, so they’ll get a haul for him. And the last thing they need is tie up a ridiculous amount of money into Tyler “Mistake Central” Myers. -

Definitely. No, they’ll let some other team make that mistake. -

Yeah, instead of the Jets trading Trouba (a 50 point defenseman) to a team like Philadelphia, where they could target someone like Ghost + in return, I’m sure they’d prefer a 10th overall pick and a B prospect.
